Same thing happened to me last Sunday and again yesterday. Breakage was at the reel. Reel and rod guides are fine. I was using Trilene XL 8lb. I know because the line was dangling from one of the middle loops. Lost two freaking lures! DARN! Time to get some new line!

What's the most common cause of line snapping? I lost 2 of my favorite lures the other day after a "craccck" tree snapping like sound when casting. Was on some Stren Original 8lb.

You have to catch them. I don't know the rules per state about keeping game fish as pets. I'd like to know because I'd keep a bass in my tank if it's allowed just to watch it suck in mice and goldfish. I could breed my own minnows

I had a Pickerel blow up an X-Rap Silver/Gold the other day.

Rapala X-Rap in Gold or Silver. Also the Skitter Pop in Frog. Just got a black Jitterbug so we'll test that for night.

The first one was a river on the erie canal. The 2nd one is BURIED in the woods and the only way we found it was by google maps. It's a walk from my house. Today I went to two new places I've never been before. It was a nice day, not too hot. At night it got a little chilly. I threw my X-Rap in, got a 1.2lb smallmouth, then got another hit, but lost it. That one was definitely bigger. Went to another pond, first cast threw it out and got a pickrel. Put the Skitterpop on and caught a 1.5lb largemouth. Was a good day for me! First fish I've caught on anything other than worms! Dont have one of the largemouth, phone died =(

Went out fishing tonight, nothing, but nothing ever bites where I fish anyways. Time to get a new place!

I hate Dicks. It looks like they stock, but they stock nothing. They had one green and white frog colored Argobast Jitterbug, and only shimmery colors. I got a Cavitron Red/Black Buzz Bait, and the Frog Colored Skitter Pop. They only had that one in the 5" so I'll probably catch smallies.

Well they jump like crazy at night, so I'm guessing they're hitting something topwater :

Will they work in 10+ft deep water?

I have frogs but I've never had any success with them. I'm gonna buy a skitter pop and jitterbug tomorrow see how that works out. The place I fish is mostly very dark water due to the lock stirring up the bottom when it opens.

Why doesn't Rapala make any dark colors? Jeeze. The only thing I can see that is somewhat dark is the "Frog" color on the Skitter Pop. I'll check out the lure you suggested also.

I want one of these but don't have a credit card to order online. Anybody know if these are sold at dicks?

I was looking at that one also. Can you recommend a color for evening/night fishing in muddy water?
