  10. This morning's outage was planned. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/146912-notice-of-planned-outage/page-2 <-- more info
  11. Hey folks, Just in case you tried the access the site this morning and couldn't, it was because of this. Updates have been made and we're back up and running again! Thank you for your patience; and THANK YOU for the very kind words in this thread! Glenn
  12. I've seen this happen dozens of times, and even experienced it myself. The problem? When you're concentrating, you're looking/thinking about where you don't want it go. Inevitably, that's exactly where it ends up. Happens a lot in bowling too, when trying to pick up a tough spare. The lure will go where you're looking. So stop looking at that branch or dock you want to avoid, and instead look at where you want it go. You'd be surprised at how well that works.
  13. The Hawks lost too many key players during the off season, and now too many playmakers are injured. They're just a shell of what they were last year. Denver got thumped today too. They're also struggling this year. Really sad the NFL has gamed the system that way. Last team to win back-to-back SBs was 12 years ago - the longest stretch in the history of the NFL. The "dynasty days" are long gone. The NFL has made certain of that.
  14. You don't need to drill new holes with Powerpole. They have mounts that fit the bolt patterns of the jackplate.
  15. We have been using the DHC 7 series all year, and really can't find any of the issues you mention. We've reviewed just about every model. Here's some of the reviews: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/dhc7-primmus-review.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/pinnacle-perfecta7-primmus.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/review-dhc7-primmus.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/primmus-reel-dhc-7-rod-review.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/DHC7-761-CAHFS-primmus-review.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/pinnacle-tournament-class-review.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/pinnacle-dhc7-producer-lte.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/pinnacle-producer-perfecta.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/review-producer-LTE-perfecta.html
  16. 22 degrees outside my house this morning.
  17. You know, it's weird. Everywhere you see, you hear of advice of storing the rods such that they don't bend. But in most boat rod lockers, there's an inherit bend given to the rods (you boat owners know what I'm talking about.). Now if you're like me, and fish throughout the year, you never "store" your rods in a non-bent position. Yet...I don't see any negative affects. My rods are in the boat, 24/7/365 for years with no noticeable issues. So I gotta wonder how much of a difference it really makes.
  18. Check out Pinnacle reels - honestly. Not because they're a sponsor, seriously. But those on the forum that know me, know that I don't BS and hold back anything. I own a fleet of Revo's, and have been using Abu since I was a teenager. But the new line of Pinnacle reels seriously blew me away. I mean, after using several different models - including the 89.99 model - I'm seriously questioning why I spent close to $500 on top-of-the-line Revos, when these reels perform just as well. I know Pinnacle isn't a brand that comes to mind in these conversations, but whenever I take someone fishing, I just hand them a Pinnacle rod and reel combo, and they're seriously surprised. My longtime friend Larry (some of you met him at the Kentucky roadtrip), buys only BPS reels due to price, freaked when I told him the Producer was only 89.99 after I let him try it out. He thought it was 3x that amount! So try it out. You might...no wait...WILL be surprised!
  19. For those of you who couldn't access the site tonight, I apologize. The network that our site sits on went down for 3 hours tonight, which made our site unavailable. We're back up again, and shouldn't have any further issues. My apologies to those that experienced severe withdrawal symptoms, including nervous ticks, short tempers, and uncontrollable urges to cast a bait at the cat.
  20. 1996 for the site. Launched the forums in 1997; then changed forum platforms in 1999; then changed again to this platform in 2010. With the first switch, I started with a clean slate (did not migrate any of the old forums). However when I changed them in 2010, the volume of posts was so huge that the conversion of data to the new platform was estimated to take over a week. So I had to drop several of the early years in order to whittle down the size. I had several profiles in the previous version. I kept this one, which was created in 2004.
