New Quantum Exo Pt
I had the opportunity to hold the rod and reel combo and check them out. Very nice setup, and they seemed very strong. Best of all, it was an extremely light combo - unbelievable. It seemed the big trend this year at ICAST was light, light, light weights. The new rods from G-Loomis, Shimano, Abu-Garcia, and more were all very light and impressive. The new Abu MGX reel is stupid light - under 4 oz. These new rods and reels are just insane. Never thought they could make a combo that feels like air, but they've gone and done it.

Lake Roosevelt, Washington
Lake Roosevelt is unlike any lake on the west side. It's extremely clear, has a slight current, and you'll need to fish deep (20' or deeper). For these reasons, you'll need to use natural colored plastics (green pumpkin, smoke, clear w/Salt&Pepper) on heavier-than-usual weights. Use tubes and grubs on 3/8- to 1/4oz dropshots and football head jigs. The topwater bite can be outstanding in the early morning. Pop-R's and Zara Spooks or Sammies work well then. Hope that helps!

Vegas
The only place I know is Mead. And with 100+ degree days right now, a guide simply isn't worth the cost.

Looking For Some Potholes Reservoir (Wa) Summertime Tips
Sorry for the late response. I just saw your post. You don't need to get away from the banks on Potholes. There really isn't much "offshore" structure to "fish deep". There's so much abundant cover that the fish use it year round. I'd fish the outer dunes - the ones closest to the main lake - this time of year. Get off plane well before the first dune if you're new to the area. It's very easy to beach your boat on a sand dune hidden just under the surface. So don't just run up to the first dune you see - you might abruptly stop before you get there! Don't forget to hit Frenchmans' canal, as that can be good this time of year. Jigs and Texas rigged worms are standard fare in the dunes, as are Senkos and spinnerbaits. The topwater bite in low light conditions can be exhilarating! Colors that work are junebug, green pumpkin, grape, black, and white. Add some chartreuse to the tails of your baits if the water is cloudy. You didn't mention Linde Coulee, but that's another great area to fish now through the fall. Just cover the banks with crankbaits, tubes, football head jigs, and twin tail grubs in natural colors such as green pumpkin. Hope that helps!

Actually, we do have a version with small ".com" in that exact spot for when it appears anywhere BUT the site. Reason being is simple: you're already here. BASSclary - yes, we're going to update the apparel with the new logo. That takes much longer, but we're working on it. Glad you guys like it!

New 10' Power Pole!
BTW, they completely re-engineered their poles - better bearings, lighter design, new hydrolics, and most of all, it's totally wireless now - including a new wireless foot control switch for the front. The new poles also have variable speed control, which you can control with - get this - wrist movement with the remote. Pretty slick.

Who's Going To Icast?
Definitely Mike! I'm booked all day in meetings the first day, but should be somewhere on the floor all 3 days. I'll be slinging a video camera around. Slap me upside the head if you see me, or shoot me an email and I'll get the message on my phone. Or...have your people call my people....no, wait, we don't have people. Scratch that.

Who's Going To Icast?
Yes, it is in Vegas. It is NOT open to the public. The annual event is strictly an industry convention where buyers and sellers converge to make deals for the upcoming year. This is where all the companies show off their newest products for the next year. I'll be there to cover the event, and to drum up awareness for the Tackle The Storm foundation.
