Trap Shooting
Ya, I get confused between the two. It's not my sport. I go to my father's public club, stand there and yell "pull" as clays are shot out from one position. 5 shots, then you move to another position. I think it's called "continental". I don't know whether that's "trap" or "sporting clays". To me, it's shooting the same type of clay pigeon flying through the air. The private club I mentioned above - I just go to watch. It's way over my skillset. Again, I don't know what it's called, but it's pretty cool.

That sounds like fun! Let me know when you're going to do your annual Sr. trip this summer. I'll try to make it if my schedule permits.

Trap Shooting
My father shoots trap - a lot. And that's an understatement. He uses a custom-fitted Benelli and does very, very well. In fact, he just placed in the top 5 in the country in his age group! I've gone out with him a few times, and usually plink off somewhere around 15-18 targets. So I'm about average. Then I went to his friend's private, custom built facility. Words cannot describe this place. It's something like a golf course, but for trap. It has, I don't know, 50 or so "holes" where each place is set up different from the next. Sometimes the targets will scoot across the ground, other times they'll shoot nearly straight up, or skip across water, or even bounce off trampolines. It's crazy stuff. It has a couple of "courses", a regular trap range, a rifle range, and camping facilities. I guess this place holds an annual event as part of the professional tour, but other than that, it's totally private. It's world class. One of the members is ranked #8 in the world. Suffice to say, I don't shoot when I'm around these guys.

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking, and EXACTLY what I did when he ran out of gas!- Color And Worms
I don't know. That's really weird. Looking into it now...- Tri-Cities Washington
Go to the Columbia Point launch (it's by the columbia point bridge, where Anthony's is). Start fishing the shoreline around there. Follow the bike path under the bridge, fishing the bank as you go. Use green pumpkin tubes, senkos, and spider grubs, rigged weedless. You may also find a few spots where you can use crankbaits (in natural colors) and spinnerbaits (white). You can also go up a ways to Howard Amon park. Don't fish right where the park is, but rather the shoreline of the boat launch on one end, and from the rocky point to Columbia point on the other end. Again, follow the bike path and pick your spots. Hope that helps!- Tri-Cities Washington
Are you fishing just from the shore, or will you have access to a boat?- Supporting Our Sponsors
We are blessed with the enjoyment of this website because we have sponsors who help us pay for it. While you are re-stocking your tackle for this season or please remember to support them by ordering from their sites. I am a complete believer in JJ's Magic. I put it to the test over the years and it won me over. It is superior to Spike-it in every way. If you haven't tried it yet you should pick up a bottle. http://www.jjsmagic.com/ I don't need to tell some of you how great RageTail baits are, but for those of you who haven't tried any yet - you're missing out! I recently took 5th in a tournament throwing RageTail baits; and the best producing lure at the last roadtrip was RageTail lizards. Quality, quality stuff that doesn't get all torn up after a few fish, and great guy behind the baits - Thanks Big O! http://www.ragetail.com/ Northstar makes some of the best custom jigs you can buy! Many times people have posted here their successes with these baits. http://www.northstarbatis.com/ And please be sure to check out the tackle shops and rod/reel services from our sponsors. These folks are top notch, offer terrific value, and give fantastic customer service! There are many more. Please check them out and be sure to thank them for supporting BassResource.- Hello From Vermont
