Real Philly Cheese Steaks
Those 2 were featured on one of those great diner joints shows on the travel channel I think. They also were featured in a great sketch on the Colbert Report back during the Penn. primary

Knee injuries...
Haha thanks, but I know before even attempting what you say that it will hurt. I go in for my follow-up today to go over the MRI results. As far as doctors go, I'm not sure I could have one much better. This is the guy that does the knee stuff for the Longhorns' football team

Knee injuries...
Ok, so Wed. night I think I hurt my knee pretty badly during a soccer game. I made a cut, heard a pop, and felt a lot of pain. So I'm instantly thinking, "wow, there goes the ACL." It swelled up badly, and I went to the doctor the next day, and scheduled an MRI for Friday. I payed $500 bucks for the MRI, but now my knee feels night and day better. I still can't straighten it all the way, or bend it all the way, but I can walk around without a limp, and most of the swelling has gone away. Is it possible that a torn meniscus/MCL/ACL would feel this way, or did I just waste the money on the MRI?

LSU getting a little help from the refs vs. USC?
I agree with the SEC report there, no fault to be found. That kind of stuff just happens with referees. In my soccer games it's about once a game that a referee will get caught in the middle of the play and intercept and perfectly placed pass or set a perfect pick on a runner. I do like Les Miles's response though "After you make contact, you gotta wrap him up... I really expected better..."

New show "My Own Worst Enemy"
Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money for me. I also like Chuck, but my local cable provider is having it out with the local NBC affiliate right now, so we don't get NBC :'(... I can always watch Chuck online, but going to Hooters every Sunday night to watch football will bet expensive...

Physics question
Well because F-15's are made out of aluminum, not gold. Image how much heavier a gold beer can would be. Also, model scales represent the lengths, heights, and widths, not weights.

Tax system explained by beer?
I just wish I made enough money to be able to complain about being overtaxed ;D

Blue Necks
Haha, I'm with you. I'm trying to decide if my dog will need a sweater when I move to Chicago. He's got really short hair, and probably has never experienced anything less than 50 degrees... Barbecue can be cooked without sauce, but it is definitely not the same thing as grilling. Grilling is hot and fast, where as barbecue is low and slow. That's the only way to get those ribs to fall off the bone and that pulled pork to "pull"

Tax system explained by beer?
Now that is some financial advice that even I can understand!!!

Tax system explained by beer?
Except that poorer people get more of their income taxed, since they are not able to save nearly as much of their earnings. Example: me, I can't save but about 5% of my income, so I get taxed on 95% of my income. But someone who makes $1 million, and saves 30%, only gets taxed on 70% of his income, even though in a much higher tax bracket. The whole system is flawed. Taxes is one of those things that should never be discussed in places such as this, because no matter what, someone is going to get offended and upset by something. But I don't think that a flat tax solves the problem, at least not until the government gets down to a manageable size

Bud American Ale
Yeah, it's certainly weak. But I don't drink to get drunk. The different varieties of beer out there are just really cool. A lot of stuff that when you read it, you think "that must be terrible" then you taste it and it's actually really good. Like this place I went to in upstate New York that had a blueberry pale ale. Sounds disgusting, especially when you get it and there are blueberries floating in it. But it is really good.

Cold Fronts
Thanks. You're right though, the bite has certainly turned on. I caught three small ones in about 20 casts with a crank in 2-4 feet the other morning. That's compared with one fish over a day of fishing. And I could see many others schooled up in the shallows, though they were all pretty small.

Bud American Ale
I also liked it. The taste gets kinda overwhelming after 3 or 4, but to have a couple with my wings while I watch my LSU tigers do their thing, absolutely. On a side note-- Has anyone ever been to Salt Lake City? The state limit for alcohol content in beer is something really low, like 3.5%, and they also have a lot of other strange laws regarding alcohol. But our bartender was telling us that because of the low limit, a lot of the major beer brands don't distribute to Utah, or if they do, in small shipments. As a result, there are a lot of micro breweries there. Going to a bar or restaraunt in Salt Lake is like the beer equivalent of a Napa Valley road trip.

The worst fans in baseball
Yeah, partially But I think if I were paying those guys that kind of money, I'd wanna get more than 30% return on my investment. If your job is to hit, you hit. Field goal kicking is also pretty difficult, but those guys are pretty close to 100%, even at long distances. Anyway, I'm going to chill now. Maybe I've always just harbored some animosity towards baseball because I couldn't do it as well as I've been able to do most other things in my life. Or maybe because in college my fraternity was constantly fighting for girls and popularity with the baseball team ;D

The worst fans in baseball
That is one thing that drives me crazy about watching baseball games. When I'm watching my teams lose in football, or when my soccer team that I play on is losing, I never feel like it's out of reach. I can always step up, suck it up, play harder, and impact the game. That just doesn't seem to be the case in baseball.

The worst fans in baseball
This is true, batting is difficult. I had to quit because my golf swing made my baseball swing too long, and I couldn't get ahead of any pitches. That being said, baseball is the only sport where you can succeed every third time and be called a great. Imagine if your team's QB only complete 3 for every 10 passes he threw. Or a professional golfer only hitting 6 greens every round. Not knocking baseball players, anyone who is at that high a level in their field has obviously worked very hard and is very talented, but the sport doesn't require much athleticism. The pitcher, yeah. After that, not so much. And I did play baseball as a first baseman for 7 years.

How Do You Spell S-T-E-W-P-U-D?
Yeah, and in this instance Jones wasn't drinking and driving, maybe wasn't even drinking (though I'm sure he was), and no charges were filed. Look, if an athlete breaks a law, then I am all for him/her being punished to the full extent of the law. But the "high standard" that I'm talking about is expecting that these guys aren't human and aren't going to make mistakes. People criticized Romo for dating Jessica Simpson--wouldn't you jump at that chance? Reggie Bush gets flak for his high-paying sponsorship--wouldn't you take the money?. Granted, Jones has had his issues in the past, but that doesn't mean he was wrong this time. Like I said--If laws are broken, that is a whole other issue. But if no laws are broken, we should lay off the athletes. They work harder than any of us do and deserve the good that comes to them. But we shouldn't expect them to put their off-field lives on hold.
