Daiwa MEGAFORCE 100TSH Problems
I bought the Daiwa bait caster a few months ago at a sportsman show in Toronto, Ontario. I used it maybe 5 times because all of a sudden I would hit the button to release the line to cast it, cast it and then it would not click back in as I spun the handle, I had to spin it as many as 30-40 times before it would click back in and this just wasn't once it's maybe 50% of the time... any ideas on how this could be fixed? Also the drag is a star drag on the side to tighten or loosen to control the drag but unless it is all the way loose or all the way tight it could easily be hit with my hand and moved to a different setting. That's how loose it is without being on the loosest or tightest setting. If needed I will post a video to show just ask if that would help someone better solve the problem. THANKS!

Fishing for trout and bass in Haliburton
I'm heading up to a cottage in Haliburton for a week or so fishing on a lake called Little Red Stone and also Big Red Stone to try and catch some bass and trout. I've bought so many new Rapala jerk baits, crank baits and so on that I'm almost broke (joking). I bought a few different spoons to ad to my already big collection and a few plastic worms. I am not one for plastic worms because they have never worked for me, any ideas, I see a lot of other people using a simple plastic worm and catching big bass! What type am I supposed to use? How am I supposed to rig them and how am I supposed to move them through the water? Also trolling for trout, we don't have down riggers so we're going to use some 3 way swivels with a 2 ounce weight on the bottom and a spoon off the other side. I'm thinking of trolling at a slow speed with a depth of about 30-40 feet. Any thought on this? What length of spoon or colour should I use? For fishing the jerk baits, crack baits and suspension, diving baits where should I fish these? Close to the shore or should I leave that for the floating crank baits? What's the deepest I should be fishing with the other types of jerk, crank, suspending and diving baits and over what type of structure or depths for bass?

What type of line?
Hey guys, big week of fishing up for smallmouth, largemouth and trout coming up. Although I only have 2 rods both medium heavy to fish for all those fish so hope I don't get too much of a trout on. I was just wondering, I have 40@10pound test green micro filament braided tied onto both my spinning and baitcasting reel. Would it be better to use a mono filament on the spinning instead of the micro?

Stringing line
Ok but this is not really going to affect my fishing is it? The line is securely tied to the reel before I began to string it.

What type of bait/lure
I usually fish with both a baitcasting and spinning reel in Lake Erie for bass. I don't own a boat so I'm usually fishing close to shore and where i fish there are many boat houses and channels where boats dock and on a point where many weeds are but good bass. I fish aroudn the boat houses and casting inside them where structure and shade is. I usually use worms and floating crank bait such as a J-9 or F-9. Is there any other lure you would recommend to fish in these areas. Also I know there are pike where I fish and maybe even musky, any advice on how to catch them?

Different Reels
Probably here this question quite a bit but... I have both a bait casting reel and a spinning reel I do different types of fishing like crank baits, spinners, fishing with worms and minnows. But I am befuddled as to when to use what one. Can someone give me a brief overview as to when to use what type of reel and why. Thanks

Stringing line
I have both a Daiwa Megaforce bait caster and a Quantum KVD 20 spinning reel and I bought 40 LB test microfilament braided line. I strung both reels. Previously I had my bait casting reel strung with similar line but when I took it off I found that the people who had done it had a monofilament line strung on a few times before tying the braided line on and finish stringing. I know this is most likely the correct but this time I just strung the microfilament line right on the real with no monofilament first. Should I have strung it like it was originally strung with the mono then micro? Should I have done it the same way with the spinning reel too?

Scratches on Reel
Do scratches on your reel bother you? An interesting topic for answers. Just bought a new KVD 20 Signature Series from Bass Pro Shops and while putting line on i used a knife to cut a lose knot inside the spool to re-tie it and put 3 or 4 little scratches on the spool where the line covers... totally invisible once line goes over it but it still bothers me that they are there. How do you guys feel about scratches. By the way anyone know how I could remove those scratches? I'm a perfectionist and hate scratches, Haha.
