  1. Still a bass thats what I say. Post any pictures if you have any luck today.
  2. I was using a Jig. I have tried a spinner bait and a crankbait, But so far I have been only catching them on the Jig. I am still thinking about that big Bass I lost today. It was weird he hit it twice and then I set the hook and I must of only had had him lightly hooked, But man it was a nice one and I only wish I could have that back, But I guess everyone has lost a fish from time to time. I did try the Nashua river for a short time and had no luck there. I may try tommorow some place late as I have stuff to do most of the day. If you try Mill tommorow check out some of the drop offs toward the back end that is where they seem to still be hanging out. Throw a jig or a tube. I caught all my fish from the same spot. Good luck.
  3. Went out to mill again today ended up catching another small bass and a good size pickeral. I hooked a big largemouth but he got off just as I was getting ready to grab him. Man does that s--- bad.. How did you make out Tom?
  4. Did you catch the perch and crappie at horseshoe? I have never caught them at Mill. Those treble hooks must of hurt. Nice fish. My son caught a few crappie and perch at horseshoe last year. I went out today and only caught a small bass (not worth weighting) and a Pickeral in 3 hours. They were 2 other boats out there plus the shore fisherman there so it was getting some pressure in that little pond (Mill Pond). I'm going out tommorow again, But may try another spot.
  5. Hit my favorite ponds today and got SKUNKED both places. The wind was blowing me all over the place. I also ended up bird nesting my baitcaster and losing a jig, After that I said the the H-- with this I'm calling it a day LOL. Jaystraw did you have any luck?
  6. This is a great forum. If you have anymore questions fire away as we will try to help.
  7. I see your from Florida or were anyway. Must be some BIG bass down there? Anyway up here we all start fishing as soon as the lakes/ponds are ice free. You will catch them, But it is just slow as the water is still a bit chilly. Water was 51 where I was today in southern NH and I got a 2 pounder with a jig. I would say late May they will be more aggessive, But hey get out there and it a shot now. Good luck.
  8. Merrimack is tough. My son and I have not had any luck over there. I heard there are some smallies there.
  9. Here is another I caught today. Bluegills are coming out also. 2lbs 5oz not bad. My line broke just as I got him in the boat. I was lucky. It was old line.
  10. Just remember to fish SLOWLY. I am new to jigs also and had to learn myself to slow down. I prefer crankbaits or spinners, But it is tough to catch them on those with the water still a little chilly.
  11. Thanks guys. I am going to pick one up.
  12. Thanks Tom. Where did you get that guide at? Good luck fishing this season to you and your wife. I'm sure we will meet up at some point.
  13. Nice fish. There is a monster pickeral in there with your/or your wifes name on it. I caught a big one in there last summer, So I know you will hit it soon. Your just as bad as me. Can never get enough fishing. I try to fish everyday now if time allow. Keep posting pictures and I will to. Where is that pond in Hudson you went to today? How is the fishing there?
  14. Nice job. I caught two today myself at horseshoe, But they were only small ones ( a little over a pound), But it's still a bass. Very windy today and I had to fight that trolling motor. Here it is. I did not bother to take the picture of the other one as they were the same.
  15. I am new to Jigs to, But since I just caught a nice 4 pounder today on a jig I am hooked now.
  16. Nice one to. Did you weight it?
  17. Thanks, I caught him/her by the tree to the left of the boat ramp, but on the other side by the bank. I may go out this weekend, But I heard it is going to either snow or rain now. I am a die hard so I may.
  18. Thanks, I would call the water stained. It's real tough to fish in the summer when the milfoil hits, But now it is good.
  19. 4lbs on the money. Caught it at Mill Pond in Nashua with a BLK/BLUE jig 1/4 once with a Black crawfish trailer. Wind was blowing about 20 mph at times. I caught it around 10am 45 degree water. Sorry for the bad picture, But my son was not there to help take the picture so I had to use my cell.
  20. Thanks for the tips. I appreciate it. I have tried Jigs (black/blue with Pork trailers and craws) No luck yet. I see them on the graph, But can't catch them. I am still new and have a ton to learn about cold weather fishing, But I am hoping to figure it out soon. I had no problem catching them in the summer.
  21. So far for me I have not got one Bass yet in morning or afternoon. I can't wait for warmer weather as I do better then. LOL
  22. I guess you could try that also. I just wanted to let you know where I fished. Thanks for the info. I will check that out also at some point.
  23. Hope you have some luck. I have not any yet. With these cold nights it makes it even harder.
  24. That should make fishing tough. I was watching Bill Dance the other day and he was catching big hawgs in 40+degree water. I would like to fish with him someday. He truly is a great fisherman. I guess alot of years experence helps. I have so much to learn about cold weather fishing :-[... I was on a roll last summer LOL....
