  1. wish i was in your area.... i am sure you will get some replies from boatless people in your area.... good luck this year......
  2. this is saltwater, but i have caught a pelican, a seagull, and have hooked but never landed (lol) many a seal.
  3. I have to agree. I've done well on them too! so far, tons of lm bass, tons of sm bass, walleye, pickerel, crappie, and even brook trout on accident (darn stock fish).... they are very versatile....again, I am a multi species fisher, so to me these things are awesome.
  4. It was actually me who had the couple beers while my buddy (the driver) had a soda and a hot wings... I didn't think about the fact I was implying my friend was driving after drinking.... sorry. I don't condone driving even after a couple beers.
  5. i won't spill it then.... storm makes a swim bait in various different species... it only costs around 3 to 4 bucks for three of them.... they have killed for me.... thats me.. everyone has there favorites.... i just know i have killed with these.......
  6. by the way, the lure i am talking about has allowed me to "forrest gump" my way to the out fishing (not every time of course, but still) of several experienced anglers over the last 3 years......none of them ever wants to use it...
  7. Like previously stated, live bait would be simplest, but I would suggest a cheap plastic swimbait with a spinner real....he will learn to cast, plus at first he just needs to reel the thing in and get bites......
  8. and rich, that is a heck of a good looking fish in your pic... kudos!
  9. thanks for the response Paul... this happens to be a product by Storm, so not exactly exclusive.... certainly not like tying your own fly's our anything... it would be the equivalent of seeing a buddy catch fish on a certain x rap and then refusing to use it.... he even laughed... he just couldn't do it... I told him well, then use it when you don't fish with me.... lol
  10. I went fishing today with a buddy with much more bass fishing experience than me... I have fished a lot during my life (at least 43 species both fresh and salt water, but bass? his wheelhouse) We went to his spot hoping for bass. I caught a mere 5 fish, all on the same swimbait...He caught nothing until a late day pickerel... He didn't want to use my offer of using one of my lures since at least it was cathcing "something" A few beers after fishing he headed off to Wal-Mart... He called me to say they had the same thing I was using, and did I want him to pick up some for me... I said thanks but I would stop by soon to get my own. He said he wanted to buy some, ;D but wouldn't since it was " MY BAIT " I said "If i saw you catching more fish than me i would try them and not feel bad" he said " I just can't" lol... DOES ANYONE ELSE THINK THIS IS FUNNY? ;D
  11. I got a buddy who lives right by dam 4... he says he thinks about 2 weeks. water level will come down while water temp will go up.
  12. monococy... nothing.. nada... zero... 2 guys wading... threw everything out there.... too cold i am guessing.( it was really cold water) or we just sucked..
  13. Gonna hit the Monocacy today for a couple hours... Will post results good or bad later.....
  14. I can't tell you what a breath of fresh air this site is... I post on another site and I can't begin to tell you just how negative many, not all, the people are there. So so glad to have found this site!
  15. ok i am jealous.... ;D very nice job.
  16. Heck, I am in Waynesboro so we are practically neighbors. sent pm too.
  17. hard to go wrong with live night crawlers. small treble and sliding egg sinker like mentioned above. Throw her out there, let it sink... if you don't get a hit in the first five minutes, haul her in, check your bait, recast.
  18. fish jones, I don't think I've said it yet so welcome to THE boards! Sounds like we fish a lot of the same waters (I'm in Williamsport for a little while longer, not moving far though). The only one you listed that I haven't been to in ages is Blairs Valley.
  19. thanks for the welcome guys... seems like a great site so far... best one I have found. People seem happy to give advice to those who ask, even the questions that to some might seem elementary or not asked correctly.
  20. Thanks KR! I actually joined 2 years ago but didn't really utilize the site so still consider myself"new".
  21. Been fishing my whole life but mostly saltwater or trout fishing... moved to Pennsylvania a couple of years ago and took up bass fishing. Large mouth from shore and small mouth when my buddy takes me out on the river.. Upper Potomac and occasionaly the Susky. Always looking for new people to fish with so if you are in the area, or are going to be, hit me up. Hope you all keeps your rods bent. Steve
