Another boat...
I am going to look at a 88 Kingfisher bass boat 15' with a 2003 Mercury 90 HP on Saturday. The owner says the boat is in great condition and is "loaded." It has dual Lowrance fishfinders. I have looked at 5 different boats and I am thinking this is the one as long as it is what he says it is. NADA has priced this boat and motor at exactly what he is asking. I hope to be towing this home Saturday afternoon, what do you think? He is asking $3800...Opinions? Thanks guys.

Charlie Moore TV
When he was on NESN I watched it because he would sometimes have celtics or red sox players on the show which was pretty cool, although I defiantly wouldn't watch the show hoping to learn any new fishing techniques.

Scents
Megastrike. I haven't tried any others so I have nothing to compare it against, but like they say "if it ain't broke, dont fix it." 8-)

Any Massachusetts anglers here?
I am from western mass and fish mostly for LM with the occasional SM. I fish a few different places out here but plan on hitting up plenty more when I have my own boat.

Old crank baits/figuring out the depth
I only have 2 crank baits that I know the depth of. These are ones that I bought this winter. Last year the only crank baits I fished were lipless. This year I am going to make a better effort to improve my crank bait fishing. Pardon the ignorance but how exactly would I do a comparison test? Just tying them on and trying to hit bottom with them? I will try and get some pictures tonight when I get home from work. Thanks guys.

Simple question..what brand/type/size hook do you use for worms??
I used to only use 3/0 hooks last year (senkos and other similar baits) but now that I have many more soft palstics to pick from I will also be carrying a supply of 4/0's as well.

Old crank baits/figuring out the depth
Hey guys, I recently got a bunch of older crank baits from my father and I am looking for a way to find out how deep they run. All the new crank baits I buy I label the lip with a marker the depth they run. The only way that I have thought of was to tie them on, fish them in a known depth of water and see if they hit the bottom or not. Does anyone else have any ideas? Thanks.

Gemini Bass Boats?
Thanks guys. I may just go and take a look since it is pretty close to me and it will help pass the time to spring. ;D

My boat build!
The mods look great. I wish I had the skills and tools to mod a boat like that. What is the length and beam of your boat? Is it tippy when you are up front fishing on the deck?

Gemini Bass Boats?
Hey guys, I am still looking to find my first boat. I thought I had one, a 94 Nitro but it sold the day before I called to make my offer on it. > I have about $5000 I can spend but if I can find something cheaper that is fine. I will use the money on new fishing gear! Anyways, I have found this Gemini Bass Boat that is pretty close to my house and when I get back from my trip I am going to go look at it. I looked it up on NADA and there are only 4 listed years of boats. What happened to this company? How was there quality? "1989 18 foot Gemini bass boat with center console, 90 horse merc with 24 volt motor guide trolling motor with 68 pounds of thrust, two eagle fish finders, two large live wells, two rod lockers, two dry storage lockers, new batteries for the trolling motor, new on board charger and live well pump. Trailer has new tires bought last year, new bearing buddies last year and a new surge break in 2005. Currently winterized for the season." Thanks guys.

Bayliner Bass Boats
I have decided against looking further into this boat. With all the info gained here about the boat and motor as well as from a couple of other places, I am going to stay away from it. Thanks a lot for all the help. The search continues. 8-)

Bayliner Bass Boats
Good looking boat! Thanks guys for all the input. I will try and see the boat this week, work permitting and if the hull checks out to my eye then I will look into having a professional take a look at the motor and the boat. I have been able to save about $125-200 each month for the past couple of months. I also sold my atv which helped the bank account more. I want to take a look at this one but may end up just waiting to see what else comes on the market as I have my brother and cousin to get out fishing with. Thanks again guys.

Bayliner Bass Boats
Thanks for all the great info guys. Hopefully I will have an opportunity to see the boat this week and I will definitely have it checked out by a professional. Do I just push on the hull to check for soft spots?

Bayliner Bass Boats
I am hoping someone has some info on these boats. I would like to go take a look at it but is this reliable motor? I know nothing about this type of boat or motor. Does anyone have any input? I am really on a budget at this point but have 2 people I can fish with most weekends. It would just be nice to have the ability to get out whenever I want without pounding the shore. Thanks guys. 1987 Bayliner Bass Boat - $1500 1987 Bayliner Bass boat with 85 Force motor, trolling motor and trailer I emailed the owner who said he doesn't know the model and that the "engine needs a tune up".

Biggest knockoff in lure history-of the Spro BBZ-1
A lot of companies will buy from the same factory that produces these lures, get the same exact thing, maybe put different hooks and a new package around it and call them their own. There will always be companies trying to make a product that is already being produced that much "cheaper" to get the crowd that may not be able to afford the top-of-the-line model to give them their money. Luckily there are websites like this to help us decide what is a knock-off and what is the real deal.

Buying a boat during winter?
Thanks for the responses. I am 90% sure I know what I am looking for. Now I just need to find it. I guess if it's still winter when I go to look at one I will need to trust my judgement on buying it without water testing it. Thanks guys.

Buying a boat during winter?
Hey guys, sorry if this has been posted before. I did a search but didn't come up with what I was looking for. I am currently in the market for a small fishing boat. Having never bought a boat before this is all new to me. What types of things should I be looking for when seeing boats? Especially now during the winter when an on-the-water test isn't possible? Is it just a bad idea to be looking for a boat when I can't water test it? I have been seeing some decent deals via craigslist but I am skeptical to drive an hour to an hour and a half to see a boat when I really don't know what I am looking for. Thanks guys.

Dumb Purchases
I agree, the King Shad is one of the best big fish producers I have used in a long time. Have caught dozens of 5 and 6 lb Smallmouths and Largemouths, plus some huge Northerns in the teen class with these baits. I got $150 in BPS gift cards for xmas/ my birthday and picked up one of these king shads among other things. I have to say when I got it home and opened it I was surprised with how cheap it felt. I still haven't had the opportunity to throw it, but I must say I am almost scared too.

Good Animated how to link to tie Knots

Hello BR
Hey guys, finally joining in here. Tons of info on this site, cant wait for the snow and ice to melt up here so I can get back out there. I'm 24 and have recently got back into fishing. I fish a few different places in western mass and will defiantly be hitting up a few more places once I have my own boat. That's about it. See you out there! ;D

Is this boat a steal?
Definitely a scam. Also there is a 1994 Astro Bass boat that has been getting posted for the last couple of months off and on. I sent them an email a few months back and got a response saying he was getting deployed and that he would ship the boat to me and if I didn't like it he would refund me in full. I was sketched out by the whole thing.
