Maintenace Port help
Anyone know where the maintenance port on the Shimano Saros 2500 is? The manual says it has a 'sealed maintenance port' but I can't locate it. It's easy to find on my stradic and symetre. Not sure if anyone can direct me to a picture or manual online that clearly shows it. Or do some models just not have one? I just bought it last year 2500f.

Catfish assistance.
I'm hoping someone can help me out. I am a bass angler but I'm wondering what is the best bait to use on a small pond I fish. Normally when I catfish in bigger lakes I use Magic Bait Chicken Liver or Chicken Blood. This has worked great for me, however at the pond I fish, I can't get bit using it (I know there are cats in the pond because I caught one accidentally on a spinner bait). Any suggestions on what else I should try. FYI the pond is stained/muddy. Not sure if that matters for cats.

worm'in vs. senko
Can someone help me out. I'm trying to get away from 'senko' fishing. The problem is whenever I throw a trick worm or finesse worm, I get nothing. Next cast, I throw a t-rigged senko in the same spot and I get a hit. I have a ton of soft plastics and try craws, lizards etc but nothing seems to work but the senko.

Yamamoto 12" Curly tail worm
Has anyone fished the Yamamoto 12" Curly tail worm? I came across them in a tackle store but haven't had any luck. I don't see them available on basspro or cabelas and I can't find any reviews.

floating plastics
Can anyone recommend some good floating plastics? Mainly for use on a Carolina Rig. I'm talking actual floating ones, not placing foam etc into them. Also, have you found using floating plastics produces more with a C-rig than a conventional lizard etc?

worm rattles
anyone have success with these? I haven't used them and am wondering if they are any good with senkos / trickworms.

Carolina Rig Spinning Rod
Any suggestions for a Carolina Rig Spinning Rod? I want to pair it up my my Shimano Symetre. I'm thinking something in the $150 range. From what I am able to find on the net it looks like something over 7' and MH to H is best. Any thoughts?

Double Dropshot
I just saw a vid on youtube that talked about 'double' dropshot where basically you have 2 lures suspending on seperate hooks from 1 leader. Has anyone tried this? is it more productive or over kill?

Hags Tornado
Has anyone tried these new stickbait/worms yet? I saw them mentioned in this months FLW. I know they are fairly new but it appears from their site that many retailers are already selling them. Just wondering if anyone has used them or would recommend them.

any suggestions?
I am restricted to the bank. I mainly fish a (muddy) pond with no pressure but also have a similar issue with a larger (stained) lake which is heavily pressured.

any suggestions?
So I'm having no luck summer fishing. I do well in spring/fall but since July...I've had no luck. I'm certain the bass have moved out to deep water since the shallows have not been productive at all, even in early morning / dusk. I've tried some deep casting from shore trying weightless t-rigged senkos and c-rigged lizards & senkos but still nothing. Any suggestions on what else I can try. Should I try craws? or bigger worms?

How the heck..
do I "detect a strike" when fishing a jig? I've read quite a bit about it but I'm still not sure how. I know with soft plastics you feel the "tap tap", but that hasn't been the case with the jig. I hear you have to watch the line. Does that mean leaving no slack and just watching the where the line meets the water for any movement? Another thing is I fish it near a lot of structure so I can't tell if I'm dragging it over allog or if it's a bite. Any advice?

Summer Pond Fishing
Hello, I'm new to the forum and have a question / seeking advice. I fish a small pond (1-2 acres). In the spring I was doing great, using a variety of lures, from senkos to topwaters and the occasional spinnerbait. I don't have a boat and was fishing from shore. I can only fish from a couple spots since casting is a problem from some points due to overhang etc. The problem is since the summer started nothing seems to work. Throughout spring I caught several 5lbers and a 6lber. Now, I can't seem to get anything. I go 3-4 times a week and only get an occasional small bass using a texas rigged senko, but nothing like the lunkers I was pulling in spring. What gives? FYI there is not much structure like a downed tree or anything to target.
