Maintenace Port help

Featured Replies

Anyone know where the maintenance port on the Shimano Saros 2500 is? The manual says it has a 'sealed maintenance port' but I can't locate it. It's easy to find on my stradic and symetre. Not sure if anyone can direct me to a picture or manual online that clearly shows it. Or do some models just not have one? I just bought it last year 2500f.

Maintenance ports are completely useless. Leave it sealed. An annual clean and lube is all you need.

It's like putting fresh oil in your car engine without draining the old dirty oil out first.

But to answer your question, it should be the same as the Symetre.  It's a little silver screw on the sideplate right near the handle.
