  1. i thought i was the only one!!! holler at another quantum lover. woot woot!! jeeze a-jay.... thats.... thats beautiful man.........
  2. i agree with sal. if youre going to dedicate it to chatterbaits and maybe spinnerbaits.... no need to waste 200 bucks on it. id go with an all star or a shimano compre in the appropiate actions. youll get plenty of the rod you need at the $100 price point. jmho
  3. hahaha. no guys.. i think i might have misspoke. in relation to the engine... obviously a liscenced merc. mech can perform the repair and it still be under warranty. truthfully i cant think of why they wouldnt work on that. they guy i fish with takes mercs off and puts yamahas on all day! ;D i think maybe that it is a package warranty where esp when dealing with the bigger nitros... if you have to take an engine off to work on it.. you get involved with things that arent under the merc. warranty and start getting into bps warranty. maybe im screwing this up cause i am NOT in anyway a mechanic or a dealer... or in anyway involved with either. i just know that i was told repeatedly by different guys in the club that i shouldnt by bps boats becasue they are hard to service and they typically have to be sent back to bps in order to avoid customer service issues. they werent just telling me this because they dont sell bps boats either... cause they know im light years away from buying a real boat. lol. actually... after looking up both boats on their websites... id go with the lowe hands down. it doesnt even seem close to me.
  4. id say that the bass were close to the same size 3.5-4lbs except the last one that might be closer to 4.5. i have no idea really on the pickeral... ummm... 4lbs?
  5. what a beautiful smallie! id say 3+lbs.
  6. welcome!! its great here.
  7. yeah... thats the way i want to lean... but i need many more boxes to pull it off. come on income tax!!!!
  8. i think what youre saying is that you are under the impression that any boat going under 5mph will not plane out.. and therefore you think that your 9.9 is not going any faster than 5mph... so its not much bnetter than your two trolling motors which are also not planing out (<5mph) i get what youre saying now. and no i think that is wrong. its takes different speeds for different boats. youre 9.9l is probably making you go faster than 5.5... but your boat needs more than that to plane out.
  9. no no. i know that they CAN work on the motors.... many wont though. i have heard the the warranty division is so hard to deal with that many wont bother with them (much like many reel mechanics wont work on bps reels... its not because they cant) and also anything to do with the boat....steering, gas lines, cabling etc. is a no go because of the same warranty issues. thats just what ive heard. the club i fish with is probably 80% outboard mechanics/dealers. i was told not to get a tracker or a nitro. just relaying that info.
  10. i liked it. and then i found yo zuri. so i didnt buy anymore. lol. its good line though....kinda stiff. i liked it alot for pitching t-rigs. youll like it.
  11. i thought i was the only one!!!
  12. it does affect cacsting... but im not sure it will enough for you to factor it in as a principle reason to buy a rod. if you are thinking of getting an ugly stick... might i suggest you get the cork handled "graphite lite" sticks instead of the cheaper eva foam grip ones. the weight and sensitivity difference is drastic. dont let anyone fool you... the graphite lite series of ugly sticks are great rods for the money. in fact i use the exclusively when i fish saltwater.
  13. Wow. Those are BIG lakes. Probably end up sorting by season, and habitat -upper, middle, lower creek arms/lake. Just a guess; my big lakes are 50acres. yeah... thts kinda my problem. theres so many things i could sort them by.. and its just a massive pain. whats funny is i normally just throw a 17'+ crank in sexy shad color. hahahah its the mid to shallow cranks that are killing me. ive got like 7 boxes. : (baitmonkey!!!)
  14. all i know is... i have routinely caught 4ft sand sharks on 15lb powerpro. no leader spanish mackeral too. these are some toothy critters..
  15. id also like to say that the few engine mechs that i know wont touch a bps boat with an 8' flippin stick. they have to go back to bps or and authorized dealer.
  16. i would get the slightly cheaper unit for the front and spend the money on an interlink. this way you can mark a waypoint on either unit and the other one shows it. nice huh? they also have the new downscan that seems pretty nifty in some of the units...may look into that too. also i personally would look into the new humminbird gps receiver that is accurate within a meter. 3 feet is much nicer than 30ft.
  17. im actually going to say 5.5 or 6. looks to be 18 to 22 inches or so... but its pretty fat too.... so......
  18. i have an appalling amount of cranks in all flavors. i have a hard time organizing them as well. currently i have them seperated roughly by depth (guessing)... but what id like to do is also seperate them by color/conditions. the two main lakes i fish are different in water clarity and id like to just grab this box for lake talquin or this box for lake seminole... etc. i think im going to get some of the crank boxes mentioned above... but i had also noticed them missing from the 2010 catalog. theyre probably still online though if you use 2009s number.
  19. uh oh. can o worms.... open on three.........1..........2.......3!!! mine is quantum. only because of bang for your buck. i love the daiwas i have too! and my shimanos.... hahah... but yeah.. i have to go with quantum.
  20. the scrounger......... http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_10205001____SearchResults in murky water id go with a black and blue or similar color. http://reactioninnovations.com/box/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=28
  21. x2 i have found this to be my fav. of these types of baits. i dont think itll replace a spinnerbait for me though as i throw them in completely different situations. im not pulling a chatterbait through bushes and grass mats.....
  22. ha. i love the beavers and between the other thread about the scrounger and this thread where raul suggested rigging it "fakey"....i now have two new presentations for them in less than 2 minutes. i love this site. 8-)
  23. frickin brilliant!! im so doing that.... thanx!
  24. ike martins quinn. zona.....hahahah any of those guys,
