  1. I fished the BFL as a co-angler last weekend and the fishing was tough on Kissimmee but I understand it was great on Toho as most of the big bags came from up that way. Not too sure exactly where though (wish I knew as I have a club tournament this weekend!). Also, just as an FYI....be careful of staying at Camp Mack and leaving tackle/equipment on your boat. About 12-20 boats were hit Fri 5/1 with thousands of dollars in lost and damaged good reported. To all those that stay we should start DEMANDING that they provide night security.....for the money they make off the fisherman they should at least make sure that our gear is protected. After all, without us they have nobody to stay there! Tight lines!
  2. Just a word to the wise for those of you that stay at Camp Mack often. Although this is a great spot and hotel to stay at I just wanted to make sure to let the board know that there was a HUGE theft that happened this past weekend (Fri Night 5/1) prior to a BFL event. I beleive about 12-18 boats were hit with thousands of dollars in damage and stolen equipment reported. They popped locks on rod lockers and tore covers to get into boats. They didn't hit everyone so there must've been someone watching when people came in. If you stay there start requesting that Camp Mack provide night security as they make far too much money to allow this to happen as often as it does!!!! Good luck and be careful!
  3. I have fished this lake a couple of times although it has been a while. Good fishing and very little pressure most of the time. Where do you usually have luck out there? Nice fish by the way!
  4. I am signed up for the BFL Gator division tourneys on 4/4 & 5/2 and am on the waiting list. Are there any Boaters who need to guarantee entry for these two tourneys? If so, please contact so we can both be guaranteed entry. Email at mpress@numbercruncherz.com or call 813-368-6750 Or PM here Thanks Mike
  5. Having fished both the B.A.S.S Elite and FLW Tour as a Co-angler in 2008 I can speak to a couple of differences after chatting with the guys I fished with. B.A.S.S Elite is a qualification tour only. You have to work your way into that level through the Opens, etc... You can not just put down the entry fee money and fish. They have done away with Co-anglers for 2009 though. FLW Tour is not a qualification only tour. You can buy your way in if you have the fees to run your own boat and compete. They do however give priority to guys in their FLW Series events, Stren Series, etc... but there seem to always be some open spots for the weekend warrior with some extra cash to fish against the best. They also still allow Co-anglers to fish (which is a nice difference in my opinion). The events generally have 200 boats compared to about 110-120 in B.A.S.S. and the payouts in FLW seem to be larger on average but I attribute that to Wal-Mart being behind it as the primary sponsor. After fishing the Florida tournaments in 2008 I felt as if the guys on the FLW tour were more patient and personable than those on the Elite series. It seemed like the Elites were a little high on themselves and had a bit of an ego. I can't say I beleive either is the best as both have some great fisherman and on any given day anyone can win. I look forward to the FLW tour making its way back to FL so I can fish again with them since the Elites dropped the co-anglers.

  9. I am a co-angler looking to link up with a boater for the BFL Gator division tournaments for 2009. PM me here please!
  10. FishinDaddy, I am launching from Bob's and have not finalized my accomodations as of yet as I may stay somewhere between Kissimmee and Crooked as I am planning on hitting those two as well as Walk In Water and Istokpoga but I cant seem to find anything on crooked for some reason on areas to fish like I can on the other area lakes. Thanks for any guidance.
  11. I am heading down to Crooked Lake during January to do some fishing and was wondering if anyone on the board might have some tips on spots/baits to try during my stay there? Have heard it is a really nice little lake and want to check it out and have a successful trip. Thanks
