I have a couple and the really work well. I'm going to try mine in winter now you guys mention it. Like RW said, I also do a bandana in summer and dip it in the cooler!
  2. Traveler, I've heard that because of the growth rate of the snakehead that toxins are less likely to be stored in the fish. Could be wrong but it makes sense.
  3. Glad to hear its all fixable! It's nice to be able to go to a mechanic that does quality work and is looking out for your hard earned investment! Nice to hear your pops is doing well too!
  4. I will, guys I know have been finding them on Craig's list from time to time. Try looking for John boats as well as just the motors. Sometimes people will sell them seperatly.
  5. Sure , Wayne, it's a 9.9...........
  6. Knob, bookers, basil hayden, woodford > makers. Tough to support that kind of flawed reasoning!
  7. You guys should do post spawn so you can really get on a big swimbait bite!
  8. Teal I look forward to hanging out and talking and I can't take it any other way than just a little bit of fun!!
  9. I can tell I'm going to have to keep an eye on you when the M&G rolls around!! Lol!
  10. It wasn't in the nicest part of town but man was it a great place to get up close and personal with the band! The new one is in a worse part of town in my opinion, just a few blocks away from Howard university. If you go, I would highly advise paying to park in the lot behind it!!
  11. Teal, there is plenty of bass love to go around!
  12. Wayne, I was banned for a couple years as well!! I was mostly a lurker for a long time! Nitro, you did fine on our outing! As you remember, it's all to easy to "fall in" while fishing from such a narrow platform!
  13. Endless, thanks, spropro, thank you and we will drop a line in a couple nice little local spots!, Nitro, appreciate it!!
  14. $1 says you end up with that bird!!!
  15. I've caught smallies at the mouth of pomunkey ( directly a cross from pohick ) but that was late fall. I wouldn't be surprised if you could find them in the occoquan!? Post number 1000 .................. Didn't know I had that much to say!!
  16. Had a few birds, loved them. Very time consuming. Grey's need a lot of interaction, if he/she does not get that, watch out for self mutilation. They will start to pull plumage and that's not good. This is not your bird but I'm sure you will probably see a lot of it, just things to be aware of. I always wanted one, just don't have the proper amount of time to devote to one! Should be good with the kids and I guarantee its smart enough to stay away from the cat or even better beat the cats arse!! The Lori I had would get all puffed up and walk right up to the cats and start talking like Yosemite Sam, uses to freak the cats out so bad! Like he was cursing under his breath and swagger around, funny lil bird!!

I'm all about the LC DD100 ghost minnow! As well as the 78 in that color!
  18. Had a nice pair of Costas end up in the drink. Running down the Potty, buddy maneuvers around a deadhead WOT, turned around to see if we clear it and woosh, one bounce off the back deck and in! Last time without a lanyard!!
  19. Personally, I prefer some type of amber or rose lens, that's just me! Gives you great vision when it's cloudy or shady but still gives you glare protection when it's really sunny. Darker lenses won't allow penetration when the sun is behind the clouds as much!
  20. You know what they say, elephants still eat peanuts!
  21. Start keeping a journal, I used to use a small pocket calender. Whenever I would fish, reguardless of success or failure, I would just make a few notes of weather conditions, where I was, water color, guess at water temp. If you have any tx results and info on what was the bait of choice, not it down. These little ledgers will make great reference guides when the weather won't let you get out for yourself. Having a few of these myself, as I got thru them, mentally, reliving the moments and really boost my confidence. You can always learn from others success and build confidence in what they have done as well. As you look back, you will be able to see what made someone successful and compare what you were doing the same day, there will be times when you realize you were very close to cracking that nut!!
  22. Last show I saw................ Neil Diamond............ epic Sights, sounds, smells from the show!!?? Walkers, canes, blue hair, Bengay, depends..........
  23. They were great shows! Forgot minutemen/rem show I saw at radford one year $5, just a few weeks before Dee Boone died. I remember Firehose at the 9:30 club, saw INXS a couple times, replacements....... Wow, gimme a little while and some more might come back to me!! The Bayou had some great shows, NRBQ, hunters and collectors, waxing poetics. The db's were always a great show! Just can't find that kind of music to go and see anymore. I'd like to go see the Alabama Shakes some time soon
