  1. Well that is great news to me! I am def. gonna switch now that main stream manufactures are doing it. I love the idea of it on my boat trailer because I hate greasing them but still do . Awesome information as always. Mike
  2. I was also thinking of these as a wonderfull addition but I do not believe from what I have read that they are able to be approved for submersion. I also think that with the quick cooling affect, they may suck water in. Just what I was pondering any way. Mike
  3. I love family guy!! I have a couple of the seasons on dvd and blue harvest is one. My favorite line is "aren't you a little fat to be a storm trooper?, well stay here and rot you stuck up b@!%h." LOL

Welcome from newbie to newbie here.
  5. Live in Newville, 10 miles south of carlisle and I love to fish most of the snobby trout streams (letort, yellow breeches, big spring) the first half of the year then I am raystown and juniata bound.
  6. Hello, Still fairly new around here but let me give yuns a slice of my world lately. I took the boat up to the susky and doing something that was not very intelligent by most, but forgive my I am new. I know I only need 14 inches of water to float and be safe and on plane 6-8inches of water, well I totally forgot about the stern squatting when the throttles are opened and dug the intake of my jet into the bottom. Then the tell-tale was just a dribble. So thinking I should def. get to the bottom this, I decided to pay the $200+ get a new pump kit, thermostat and gaskets. Well to make a long story short, many broken bolts, lots of Kroil and god knows how many curse words I have the housing off. Needless to say, if you haven't had a jet apart do it soon otherwise risk my mess. I know most people here are way better at preventive maintenance. I bought mine used and def wasn't apart since 1993 when it was new.
  7. Thank you for the tips, even if you didn't to do it. LOL I will have to try above the 944 bridge next time. This is the first year I have fished the lake and I am not upset with what I have done so far, never been skunked but never any really nice ones. Best so far was a 19in. largemouth. Mike
  8. Yes that river is not that deep at all. Majority of where I have been you need a jet outboard and a flatbottom get around much. I have a spectrum bass boat (not quite a flat bottom, not a full bass boat)with a 60hp merc jet and at full plane I only need about 10in of water but man those rocks are big and come out of no where.
  9. Problem is with the Susky is that it is a mile wide and an inch deep even in good water levels LOL. I guess down around the three mile island and further down must be some deeper water. Mike
  10. What a waste!!!! Worked all around the bridge pilings and nothing. Water is very low really have to watch where you go. Through darn near everything I had without a strike. I am gonna stick to the Juniata from now on. Mike
  11. I am headed up there tomorrow morning around 5am hopefully will do better than I have done there lately. I am heading to Ft. Hunter area water will be low but I should be able to move around some.
  12. Hello, I was wondering were a person might find the best deal on a power trim cylinder and pump for a Mercury 60HP jet. I have the tilt assist but it isn't powered. It just makes the weight almost neutral. It also bleeds down so I need to change it out anyway and I have all the contols for the power trim all they need is hooked up. Thank you, Mike
  13. I have always had more luck with Panther Martins than any other lure. I love the Gold Yellow color. Gold orange works ok but not as consistent as the gold yellow.
  14. Thanks and I def. will keep youn'z posted.
  15. We had a pretty good time. Caught a few but there were definitely more fishermen that expected. I got one nice one around 2.5 lbs., got it on a zara spool jr. It came up from about 15ft. of water around some fallen trees. Funniest things is that when it came up with a large spook in its mouth a four inch bluegill fell out of its mouth and swam away. I am gonna get there again I hope this week or weekend coming. Mike
  16. Hey, I am heading to Raystown again this Sat. with my father in law. Cant wait I now have my registration issue straightened out and I good to go for two years. Can anyone tell me about blue marsh lake in PA? I see that they do not have a HP limit just a speed limit. I'm want to go there but I know nothing of the fishing. Mike
  17. I will let you know next time I am going, I will be coming from the eastern part of PA. I live near carlisle. 16' spectrum with a 60hp jet, the motor might be bigger than yours but I still get blow out of the water from the skiers, scoundrels!!!.
  18. I usually launch at James Creek and fish in the coves there or just across by Trough Creek.
  19. Got on the lake at 12:30pm and fished til 5pm. Landed two smaller ones around 1.5lbs and one under a pound. Missed alot and woke up a few big lunkers in some flooded trees. Everything on that same silver and black skitter pop. I did chase striper for like an hour when they were smashing into schools of bait on the surface. No luck always too late lol. Water temp on the surface was 70deg. F
  20. I am addicted now, gotta go again!!! I am taking off Tuesday and heading up there again for a day of fishing by me self. I know I am gonna be sore in the evening lol. I am gonna hit that lake hard.
  21. Well, there is a large rock point straight out from the marina water is right around 40feet off of it and the wind usually slams into it and there is bait clouds around it. I do know of another large cove down toward the dam that has some downed trees and it goes from about 2 feet at shore to 20feet deep at the tree tops. I have no where near unlocked this lake. Mike
  22. Did ok for me today. Got there around 1pm and fished until 5pm. I landed one smallmouth and one largemouth. Both on a silver and black skitter pop. One very curious thing that I did see was, two smallmouth about 15" floating. One was still barely alive and the other dead, but both had alot of the same characteristics one side almost paralyzed and bloated. Nice day though, I didn't start fishing a slider until 4 but didn't really get into it. Still learning that new baitcaster. Mike
  23. Hello, As in my earlier intro post I stated I am going to Raystown this Sat. Can't wait I have only been a couple time this year and have learned alot but def. did not master any part of that lake. The learning curve seems to be huge for that place. Crystal clear water, deep and there was a heck of a lot of boat traffic earlier in the summer. Traffic has dissipated and fishing is more pleasant. I am armed for anything this time, Gitzits, other tubes, sencos, cranks, spinnerbaits, I have a good selection of most of the groups of lures. Hope to do well but if anything it is still better than sitting on my butt at home. Mike
  24. Nope, no tournament for me. I was however at James creek, that is where I launched. My father in law caught most of the fish two weeks ago on a d**n black 1/16 ounce rooster tail!!!!! of all things LOL. I am going up in the weaver falls area this time and headed up stream to the moving water. I bought a jet outboard for a reason 8-)
