Im ALL shimano for reels but go with a revo for heavy cover fishing.IMO the curado doesnt have enough drag power for heavy cover.I have lost a few donkeys on the california delta cuz of my drag slipping on my curados.

Hey guys i was thinking about getting a few mojo rods.I was looking at the 7' and 7'6" rods.What would you compare these rods to? Would you compare them to shimano crucials or powells? Thanks for your help Chris.

The Powell 705C is the rod i am selling now(mentioned in the original post)! I love the rod but it is too flimsy at the tip. Way over rated IMO!! Not sure about Powell, but the Dobyns 705c has one hell of a tip. Great worm rod, if you're looking for something tough. I use 733 and 734 for all my worming needs, I leave the 5 powers for jigs. Just a thought, hope you don't take this as an insult, but when I heard flimsy, I thought maybe you had the 705cb? Cause the Dobyns 705 is nothing flimsy at all. Good luck. Me to if you dont have any rods in your boat tomorrow it wasnt me... I use a dobyns 705dx,dobyns gen 2 704 and a dobyns gen 2 765 for jigs.Dobyns 703 and 704 for some worms.

Yeah some people say they are but i think they are way BETTER than powells IMO.

IMO BEST rods ever made!THE NEW EXTREMES ARE BETTER THAN THE GLX'S.I TESTED THE 784 EXTREME AGAINST THE 844 GLX AND THE EXTREME IS WAY BETTER!

I have a dobyns 766 and it is sweet!I use it for frogs,big jigs,punching,flipping i love this rod!

I leave it on.I like the way it feels for some reason.

Playing with in the store and fishing them are two different things man. I suggest you barrow someones and test it on the water. I think you will be a bit more suprised.. The only rod you will see in his hands is a dobyns.

I have never had a problem with the 25 pound big game!Knock on wood.

I tie a clinch knot then i cut it off and put it where the gap is on the hook then i tie a palomar.

What baits are you looking to throw? I throw the okuma 8.6 xh musky rod for BIG baits.It is telescopic.For small baits look at the powells they have telescopic swimbait rods.

Powells all the way. If you can get a DOBYNS.

BIG O the 734 is PERFECT for those baits!!
