  1. James A. Reed lakes would be your best bet on the Missouri side. You may try checking out Missouri Fish & Game website. On the Kansas side, there's quite a few community lakes to try. http://kdwp.state.ks.us/news/Fishing/Where-to-Fish-in-Kansas/Fishing-Locations-Public-Waters/Region-2
  2. Wally world clearanced these 2 years ago. I bought a couple of them for $1.50. I still have a few. The blades are unique if I remember right. I'm almost positive my BPS in town is clearancing them now for $2.88. I have too many spinnerbaits, so I didn't look twice.
  3. Ray is a great guy. I drop off my reels to him every winter and he's very reasonable. I've never had him build a rod - nor do I know the costs. His stories/experiences are great. He used Loomis blanks (and knows/fished with Loomis himself), but I don't think he can get them anymore since Shimano bought them out. Not sure though.
  4. I was considering 832 myself, but based on these reviews I don't see a reason to change (right now) from Suffix Performance Braid. I have too many 1/2 spools sitting around because I'm always trying to find the perfect braid. I'll wait.
  5. x4 Ardent. Never bought one based on looks and feel.
  6. I think it's a little stout for crankbaits or any treble hook type bait, unless you're using mono for some shock absorbsion with setting the hook. Like others have mentioned, C-rigs, Flippin', or even a frog rod. Good luck.
  7. My second guess....Berkley Chigger Toad
  8. White plastic lawn chair - flippin docks Coffee can - I must have been 10yrs. old. Thought it was a monster fish as it would sink down after I pulled and cranked. old Mitchell spincast combo - trashed no name spinning reel combo - trashed Walleye - throwing a spinnerbait 2ft off the bank at LOZ.
  9. I'm jealous. :-[ The most I've done this winter is read BR forum and re-organize tackle. Great job man!!
  10. Rboat I went through this same dilemma. I have Dish Network and have tried numerous packages. I got the channel package that includes Versus, Outdoor Channel, and Sportsman Channel, plus some regional Fox channels that cover all the fishing shows I watch. WFN is a great channel; however, Dish Netowrk charges an extra $10/month to get this channel with a handful of other HD channels that suck. WFN spends a lot of air time on saltwater and Canadian-specific fishing shows. I had WFN for about 1 year and only enjoyed 2 shows that I couldn't get anywhere else - Dave Mercer's Facts of Fishing and Karl Kalonka's Extreme Angler TV. All the other shows can be found on VS, OC, ESPN, or Sportsman. Good luck.
  11. 10 years ago, I overheard an old timer boasting about his grandson who started driving trucks. His grandson's main run was to haul goats to Taco Bell facilities in Midwest. I didn't think much about it at the time, but after reading these posts - I may give it some serious thought.
  12. I really enjoyed Bass Edge. I talked to Aaron Martin last year and he said they didn't have the sponsors for the 2010 season, but he was hoping for 2011. I have not heard anything recently.
  13. If there is a technique called "slowing down" then that's what I need to work on.
  14. Same incidents circulated with Carrot Stix a couple years ago, but I've never had any problems with mine.
  15. I've been wondering about that. Most products are getting clearanced. I just bought a couple frogs $4 at BPS and TW has been trying to get rid of the jigheads and soft swimbaits.
  16. Outlet Bait & Tackle carry a few colors at $3.99 http://www.overstockbait.com/Yamamoto_Ika_p/92-10.htm
  17. 1. Carolina Rigs - trashed terminal tackle last year. Thank goodness I never bought a dedicated rod/reel for this technique. 2. Drop Shot - very little terminal tackle left and soft plastics. Will not buy anything for this technique in the future. 3. Swimbaits A. Soft hollow belly - still working through various Shadilicious sizes. Will not buy anymore, regardless of price. B. Hard bodied - still have a handful of BBZ's. I wish the bass liked the looks more than me.
  18. Strike King Zeros - these are made with Elaztech. You'll catch 30-50 bass on a 6-pack.
  19. Welcome! I was born in Toledo with relatives in Pemberville and Fostoria!
  20. 1. LC Kelly J (MS American Shad) 2. Rapala Skitter Prop (Shad) 3. Devil Horse (Silver Shiner)
  21. You should be able to find a 2009 Revo SX in that price range.
  22. If it's 2011 Gold for $100-120 that's a great deal. Most places have been clearancing 2010 Golds and Pro's around that price for this year's 3 price points. If you like (and can get) micro guides at this price, I'd go for it. If you haven't fished a Carrot, they are a little stiffer. So a medium fast may feel like a MH graphite rod to you. I use: 6'6 MH fast for single hook (buzz/spinner baits) 6'9 M parabolic for treble hooks 7'6 H fast for flipping/pitching Good luck.
  23. Strike King - 3X Zeros - Rage Tails Shads, Frogs, Creatures - Perfect Plastics Big Bite Bait - Squirrel Tail - Kriet Tail NetBait
