  2. I agree, you dont need anything else. You could actually get by with less. IMO a medium heavy fast action rod will do most types of fishing well. And the older i get, I believe it has more to do with the person using the tool (a good quality rod). And specifically if you are a bank beater less gear the better.
  3. when I was learning long ago, most of my back lashes came when casting into the wind and not being cognizant of it.

  6. where is the best place to get a carbon fiber reel handle for a gen 1 revo stx?
  7. Thanks for the solutions. I believe all are correct in there diagnosis. Unfortunately the owner of the reel (me) did not get the spool tension assembly put back together correctly and that allowed many factors to create the problem. First of all I dont have the best vision in the world and that didnt help. Well there is a little indent on the assembly that must go into a hole in the tension cap which I though was just a painted black dot. Well this threw everything off and out of whack!
  8. If that doesn't fix it , Ill send it your way!
  9. Ill try that first! Just wanted a little opinion before I tackle it after work.

  12. kvd or rapala xtreme slash fished erratically...............like combinations of slashing and twitching depending on the bite note: im not a big fan of the shadow rap yet , it seems to have a tighter wiggle makes me think cold water bait. I like to fish the jerkbaits more like a scared or wounded bait fish. Any time bait!

  16. Have you considered a waistband pack. Thats what I use, a backpak seems like it would be too hot in the summer months.
  17. Great replies!................yes I meant split ring in the Poll. The reason I ask was, I have a bud that uses a snap. I always tie to split ring but was considering a snap for quick changes. I think Ill look into the norman speed clip mentioned.
