  1. Its actually what you said, in clear water bass seem to be darker, and in murky to muddy water bass seem to be pale. The sun can penetrate through the clear water better giving the fish a Tan really, and it muddy water the tint of the water shields the sun from the bass. just like if you go fishing without a shirt on you get tan and if you do where a shirt while fishing it shields the sun.
  2. IDK about predicting, cause i caught my biggest so far this year last weekend he was 7-8 lbs. and this weekend caught one around 6-7 lbs. My Goal is a 12lber. To beat my biggest bass which was a lil over 10 lbs.
  3. Another Humongous bass!!!

lots of good baits, probably the jointed grappler shad.
  5. try a texas rigged u-tail! HAVE SOME FUN!
  6. Hank Parker Bill Dance Shaw Grigsby
  7. BASSACKWARDS, i live in N.C. And i fish a live bream when i want to catch a big bass. i float him on a big cork a split shot, and i gold good sized crappie hook. try it and you will not regret it.
  8. There could be a couple of problems. is this lipless crankbait a floating one? How much does it weigh? how fast is your retrieve? Either these or your hitting clumps of isolated grass that towers up to 3 or 2 foot deep.
  9. Baits that go with smallmouth or baits you here people talking bout more with smallmouth than largemouth are 1). 3 or 4 in. grubs-never smallmouth fished but my fav. grub is the Zoom fat albert. 2) Spinnerbait usually smaller spinnerbaits and they also like the spinner baits with colored blades- also inline spinners. 3) SENKOS! i heard of alot of people catching smallmouth on senkos. Try the 3 and 4 in. models in various colors and see which one produces. 4) Like i said i have never fished for smallys but i would try my go to bait for largemouth on em'. The Zoom Finesse Worms 5) Another bait you hear alot with smallmouth are tubes. 3 or 4 in. tubes. Also i hear alot of smally fisherman say smoke is a good color when they use grubs or tubes. See i never smally fished but i know a few things, these fellow smally fisherman could tell you a bit more on baits and techniques. Good luck
  10. the chunk from its tail could be from a predator fish, like a gar or pike or pickeral perhaps? but i catch sum bass sumtimes with those spots. its kinda weird.
  11. 1) Zoom Finesse Worm-Green pumpkin, or Green Pumpkin /w red flake to change things up 2) Cotton Cordell Big-O in the 2 1/4 in. model-In the perch color. 3) 1/4 oz. Booyah Spinnerbait, in a Chartruese and White Skirt. (My opinion, of what spinnerbait i had most success on. Sort of a confidence bait) 4) Bill Lewis Rat-l-trap 1/4 oz. in a bleeding shad color, or Red Craw. 5) Smithwick Devils Horse-Perch 6) Zoom 4in. Mini-lizards-Black /w red fleck, or Mean Green Red 7) 1/8 oz. Booyah Jig, in Black and Blue-With same color Zoom swimming chunks. (swimming chunks make em have a bigger profile, but they sink much slower because of the weight.) 8) 1/2 oz. Booyah Jig, in Black and Chartruese. 9) Zoom Super fluke-Baby Bass 10) DT-16 Rapala-in the Bluegill color
  12. A 10.3 pound large mouth + another 8.6 lber no smallmouth
