Magnum Worm
you will be surprised at the bass that will strike a 12" worm J,...I fished the zoom ol' monster 10"er a lot last year and caught bass from 8"-6+ pounds..i was looking online to order some 12"ers for the upcoming season [new zoom monster 12"] and see that gambler makes worms to 16"!! i think i will buy some just to try out on a hazy july night. I would think that the 12" worms will help cull out the smaller bass too, thats what i'm aiming for! I have some real good memories of the manns strawberry & grape worms and will definately include some in my monster worm order.

Has This Ever Happened To You?
Gamblers are really strong garlic too,but they sure do catch! Ever get a whiff of the keitech squid scent??

Dear Lure Manufacturers:
at all...........
-
Dear Lure Manufacturers:
i just want to know the reasoning behind it,makes no sense...and i do not like it...
-
Dear Lure Manufacturers:
i do not fish for smallies..the bait is set to look like a bass, the brush hog is a creature bait, not made to duplicate a bass..i hate the orange belly still on a bass pattern......
-
Dear Lure Manufacturers:
aavery2,i understand your reasoning, and i know it is a lame, trivial question.but why do it if it will lose contrast so quickly?..my only question is why? i have never seen a bass w/ an orange belly, ever. The dark green back, maybe a few splatters of black for a lateral line, fading to a white belly.perfect....whats the deal w/ the orange belly....orange belly.....ORANGE BELLY!!!! Your color scheme definitely holds true in the color selector charts, but in my crankbait/swimbait shopping this weekend, the fire has been ignited once again..just lose the d**n orange belly!! i need sleep......
-
Dear Lure Manufacturers:
WHY on earth do you put an orange belly on your "largemouth/baby bass" patterns?? I truly believe that you make them this way to attract fishermen, not for the intended quarry. It really grinds my gears to see a beautiful bait in the package, with all intentions to mimic mother nature in its finest form, highly detailed to perfection, only to turn it on its side and reveal the citrus underbelly hell-fire-orange tone applied, why,WHY,dammit WHY?? This has been bothering me for decades now,and i had to let it out... [i know it really is not that big of a deal, and they still fish just fine,................but WHY?????] why?

Gambler 16" Worm!?!
Was just browsing some tackle sites searching for the new zoom 12" ol' monster worms and ran across the 16" gambler baits worm! They come in a clear pvc/plastic tube, looked like 2 maybe 3 worms per package..Just wondering if anyone has fished these worms or had any tales of fishing these serpents for hawgs! What hook size [9/0-11/0] non EWG to cover the length a little better? and rod reel set up? I'd like a 7' 6" heavy flippin stick with maybe 20#+ fluro/hybrid. i'm thinking falcon or maybe el salto they would shine, but would like to hear of some stories if anyone has tried em.

Magnum Ol Monster
thanks punchy8,i did not know that..its been a great night-time bait for me.i think i'll be heading back there to snag a few more packs! correction: i KNOW i'll be heading back there to snag a few more packs!!

Pretty Sweet Deals Made Me Sway
I hear ya gambler,i'm an avid braid user too,but that hybrid is good stuff.i can set a hook with confidence unlike most of the flouros iv'e tried in the past.if the 20# is treating you good, then go stick some hogs without worries!! Just dug up a filler spool of 12# smoke that i'm gonna put on a curado for some early season trap/jerk baits and light jigs.

Magnum Ol Monster
Can't wait to try the new 12" monster! Had some nice bass on the blueberry and green pumpkin last summer, and the black at night was killer! Just got back from DSG and i was looking at the zoom baits and saw the black colored ol' monster with a "limited edition" green tag on it.. not sure why solid black would be a non standard color for a big worm bait? Seems like a standard color pattern from most soft plastic manufacturers?

Rigging A Horny Toad?
i use the 4/0 screw-lock hook made by zoom for the horny toad [as on the label] and have had great success with it. these frogs may not have the insanely crazy-leg action of other frogs, but i fish them over HEAVY mats slowly in the summer and the bass will crush this bugger!!

Pretty Sweet Deals Made Me Sway
Gambler, like others have said, that 20# hybrid is gonna be tough on that reel.!! i went down from 15# to 12# and even 10# on a flippin/jig set-up and have never broken off on mats or timber.iv'e straightened hooks on a steady pull w/ 15#! its not 100% flouro, has some more stretch to it,but is a great line.

When A Fish Jumps
bow to the cow! tarpon fly-boys creed! i'd rather have an aerial fish on a lose line than to gain leverage on a tight line..

Ode To The Jig
bass will slam a jig year round, just vary your retrieve and change seasonal locations..ex: slow dragging early season deep, maybe a 1/8-1/4 oz. hair jig to punching heavy mats in the dead heat of summer with a 3/4-1 oz. and a flappin' craw trailer! Glenn and bass resource has a great series of videos no doubt! just don't watch the spinnerbait vids, you may need a second job!!

Zoon Ultravibe (Paddletail) Worm
haven't tried the zoom ultra-vibe worm, but after looking at the tail design,it should start to "kick in" and maintain its swim at a slower speed then a standard paddle tail design. i like the standard paddle tails in mid summer t-rigged on a 3/16-1/4 tungsten bullet fished over grass flats..i like to rip em a foot or two and kill it for a few seconds and repeat.it seems that the paddle tail wont always "swim",it just runs straight if not pulled fast enough? i like the looks of the zoom mag ultravibe worm!!

berkley powerbait powerworm 7 in and 10 in
Hey 1234567..they have a nice lookin' 12" worm too!! I've been using the 7 & 10" for many years and will now only buy the 10"ers in the future..i have not noticed a decrease in my catch ratio with the bigger worm, and the quality/size has definitely improved. I'm going to pick up a few packs of the 12" worms for t-rig dragging on summer nights!

Solid Color Bait You Never Use
same here BD,red shad is killer for me,but with the solid tomato/bright red color,i cant buy a strike?
-
Solid Color Bait You Never Use
got schooled by my partner who was using a bubblegum/pink trickworm once..the d**n thing would barely even touch down and it would get annihilated! He actually found out about the "magic color" a few days earlier when i was working, told me about it and i still would not break down and buy this day-glo pink bait..thought he was kidding around. never had much luck w/ that color anywhere else, but it still crushes 'em today on this one lake!?!? Have bad luck w/ all solid red or orange..

Strike King ( Kvd ) Frog!
never noticed the scum frog "trophy series" until this post FL..the one i bought in the past was o.k., but too light for a braid/baitcaster set-up and took on a lot of water. I see the trophys are 5/8 & 1/2 ounce size now, which should be real nice with a heavy braid/slop set up and a few bucks cheaper then the others..will try a couple this season.

Favorite Topwater Bait ?
what chu talkin bout! the JB was mentioned in my post, and always have at least 3 in the box! This year i started fishing the bigger/jointed 5/8th ouncer, and i must say the quality has improved, and i dont think the smaller bass are ignoring it either at dusk!..how do you like the CRAZY CRAWLER..Thats one i forgot to mention..man,if you get it right,it just begs for a slob to slam it!!

Cavitrons
Always wondered why cavitrons don't come in a silver/nickle prop?? Seems to be the most popular blade color available? Not that it really matters,i think the solid construction and performance you get out of them is the key features of a good bait.
