No Knot On Spool / Spooling Braid With No Backing
I doubt it, 1 wrap around the spool the line virtually has no weight, the level wind is going to evenly distribute the line on the spool.

Line Size..braid On Spinning Gear
@ War Eagle to put it tactfully the fish was lost due to user error. I do like that lip propulsion feature, however my freshwater reels don't have it. Any spinning reel will handle braid, it's how the line is loaded up, braid ready reels is a selling feature, it doesn't really matter if the reel is " ready" or not. I always put tape on the spool before putting the line on, this alleviates any problem. It's ok to have your drag on the tight side, especially with plastics. Tight doesn't mean locked down it means slightly tight, after a few fish you'll have the right feeling on how to set it where it's best for you. I probably do this more for bass fishing than any other species because I'm pulling them out of cover, I do not tighten the drag instead I grab the spool and just pull the fish out, that way I always have a tight line and pressure on the fish.

No Knot On Spool / Spooling Braid With No Backing
I put a layer of masking tape on my spool first, whether it's conventional, spinning, mono or braid or braid ready. I usually don't tie, just place the end of the line on the tape then place a second piece of tape over that and just spool it up. It's either straight mono or straight braid, no backing and never any slippage. I mainly forgo the knot on the arbor, in freshwater there isn't much fear of being spooled all the way down and in saltwater if 200 yds is stripped out the knot isn't going to hold the fish anyway.

Low Profile Reels In Salt Water?
Occasional use won't hurt it, if the reel is approved for saltwater no problem at all. I fish saltwater 7 days a week, at least in my area I see probably no more than 2 or 3 low profile reels being used in maybe a year, and those people seem to be freshwater fisherman coming out to the salt for the day. We do see some larger conventional reels but primarily those are being used for bait fishing, not steady cast and retrieve. Once in a while I will see a round b/c being used, still not that popular, spinning is the predominate tool here. I wouldn't discourage you using a low profile b/c if you're comfortable with it.

My Take On Brand Loyalty
From my perspective brand loyalty can breed narrow mindedness, you may just overlook an item of equal or better performance or better value. No question that BR is a very pro Shimano board, they do make some nice equipment. Some of the other forums I'm on and the places I fish Shimano is not near as popular. I like my 2 stradics and my 2 spheros, when they don't need repair.....lol, but do they fish better than my Abus, Penns, Pfluegers, Daiwas and Quantums, the answer is no. Would I buy Shimano again, sure but I'd buy the other brands as well, it boils down to the whim of the day.

Canal Behind My House, Help!
I fish canals a lot. I've fished Coral Springs many times and gotta say it's not one of my favorite places, I was down there a few days ago and fished a few very similar canals in that area. I personally prefer more of a secondary canal, wider with a little better water flow, less muck and scum, not to mention all the garbage people toss in some of the little canals. Snakeheads do give a little better fight but not good enough for me to target them over bass or peacocks in more open water. I don't plan on going down there again anytime soon. The peacocks have not come back all that great around my area, but catching some really nice bass. The water level may not improve until rainy season.

Windows 8
I haven't seen it in person but seeing it in commercials has not excited me. I did see some of the windows smart phones, the tile system may not be too bad a set up for that venue.

Well Aint This Something
I've been involved with heavy trucking for 35 years, I don't see drivers being replaced by technology any time soon, not that the trucks themselves are not equipped the latest tech. A drivers responsibility is more than just driving from point A to point B, his or her supervision of loading is of paramount concern. There are weight restrictions by law of how much can weight can be loaded on each of the axles. Drivers must make sure a load can't shift, quite often they will nail 2x2's to the floor or use some other means for a loads to be secured in place. In the case of a flatbed, straps or chains are used for securing the objects, I've never seen anyone other than the driver doing this. A driver is like the Captain of the ship, their responsibility to have a safe truck, good tires, loaded and secured properly within state regulations pertaining to weights.

Line Size..braid On Spinning Gear
Not necessary to make a hard hookset with braid. 20# braid is some plenty strong stuff, no need to use heavier in freshwater.

What Is Ur Most Productive,(Lure Or Bait) In General
Jig and trailer or a senko, but it's not my most enjoyable way to fish. I personally would rather fish a hard jerkbait or top water popper even I catch less fish. The water dictates my choice of lures.

They Wolfpack Showed Up This Morning
That is strange, didn't notice it until you pointed it out. I'm looking at the jacket, on the left side it appears to be a lighter color too............I wasn't the photographer. Have to catch another one tomorrow and get a better pic, the pressure is on.

Line Size..braid On Spinning Gear
10# braid open water and 15# braid in slop, only use spinning gear.

Rods Or Reels
My addiction is catching fish, I don't care what I'm using to catch them. This is far from the largest of season and I'm catching them on a $30 spinning reel. I don't need anything else and yes I'm having fun.

Bill Dance
Bill Dance et al are simply entertainment, I do find he may be more educational than some of other shows. Whether the shows are shot in 30 minutes or 30 days, I don't really care. I'm just watching TV, and when I get tired I change the channel.

Upgraded A New Smartphone
For the record I returned my Razr M, so I'm back to using my Commando for awhile, I was planning on keeping the M despite a few annoyances. Yesterday Pm I go out fishing for awhile. I take a few pics just to check out the camera, it was ok but nothing earth shattering, no better than what I had. I do check out a web site or 2 when I'm out and about and in the sunlight the display was almost impossible to make out. I tinker with a few settings and no improvement, at first I thought just maybe this is due to an exceptionally bright day outside, WRONG. Once I get home I took my old phone and placed it side by side with new one, the difference was night and day, excuse the pun. My wife was outdoors as well and noticed the same dark screen on her M. I'll be very fair on my review of the phone, as with all new phones it's fast and working indoors with it was a pleasure. I discovered that the exceptionally thin phones are not for me, but a skin really improved the feel and handling. Despite the professional reviews on battery life, I didn't notice a significant improvement. Jellybean works well and took just minutes to get comfortable with it. Probably with any new Verizon phone, not just this one, Verizon has installed unremovable bloatware, rooting may alleviate some of that bloat but I did not check into doing it. The overwhelming negative was the dark display when using outdoors. My wife had taken some pics and wanted to upload them to her pc, I didn't feel like setting up a ftp server and client so I used the usb cable. Once connected I was prompted to d/l Motorola software, no big deal but could have set up ftp in half the time. Now this I didn't like, each time connecting via usb Verizon's backup assistance plus web page popped on the computer screen, just unneeded IMO.

Upgraded A New Smartphone
iphones do work really well, all my kids and gr children have them but I prefer android. As I've have smartphones for a number of years I get comfortable with new a OS petty fast, I've got one this down pat already. Statiscally speaking the razr m stacks up pretty high among all the phones, I've only run the battery down to about 35% after playing with it a lot, under normal use it should be ok, I'm hoping. Sleep control, display brightness and wifi are some of the draining culprits, hopefully a few tweeks will help. The syncing of my phone contact list with my auto bluetooth doesn't automaticaly work as it should, a simple disconnect then a reconnect in the phones bluetooth pairing solved that problem. Looks as though I may keep it, the performance is very good, but If I do exchange the sharpest display I've seen is the LG spectrum 2, but rated as poor battery life. I've looked at just about everything Verizon had. I agree about the Galaxy s3, nice phone, but i didn't want one that large and I like FREE.

Upgraded A New Smartphone
This is my 4 th smartphone, my last one was a Casio Commando which is very rugged and has the best quality coming out the earpiece on a phone call of any one that I've tried or had. Had I not wanted a larger screen display 3.6 vs the 4.3 on the droid I'd have stayed with the Casio. I always preferred to d/l from google play store on my computer rather than on the phone, the previous android market place was fine just easier at the puter. One feature I do like is not having to bookmark any favorites, the jellybean os allows syncing of all your chrome bookmarks.

Upgraded A New Smartphone
My wife wanted a smartphone and I was entitled to an upgrade too, so I purchased 2 of them. My wife is heaven and I'm in agony, firstly I have to teach her and it's driving me crazy and secondly I liked my previous phone better. After being talked away from one brand I wound up getting 2 Razr M's. On paper seemed like the ideal phone for me, but I found battery life wasn't as good as claimed and not much better than what I had. The phone is a bit slippery, I put a rubber skin on it and it does feel better. My main annoyances are maps, whether google or bing, they are a bit fuzzier than my other phone. On the newer OS Verizon has installed some of their phone numbers that cannot be deleted and they appear on my bluetooth in my car, I don't like it. I just wanted a 4g phone with a bigger display, the phone does operate nicely and it's very easy to use, now I've got a few days to make up mind to keep it or return it. Luckily I got them on line and they were free, Verizon was charging $99 a piece.
