Question On Palomar Knot
Never is an absolute word, so the operative word is seldom. Seldom does any knot I tie slip or fail, whether it's mono, copoly or braid, being absolute I never use a palomar knot.......anymore. IMO the palomar is not the easiest or fastest. I also seldom have the need to retie unless there is abrasion due to rocks and coral, or gill plates from certain species. The closest I get to flouro line is flouro leaders and Pline flouroclear, I have not had the need to seek a knot or better knot, doesn't mean that I don't retie if I'm unhappy with the first attempt. If you like the palomar, by all means use it.

Boca Rio Canal
It can be good, but it gets pressured quite a bit. Some of the better attributes are that the canal is not high banked, plenty of places to park and you can walk and cover a lot of water, I've only caught LMB there. In my younger days like 2 years ago I would climb down the side of the Hillsboro canal on the other side of the spillway, it's real steep and high, but there are snook and tarpon in there, that isn't hearsay. Places that get less pressure are by the spillway, you can park in the subdivision and walk a few feet thru the bushes, I recall a little path there, or park by sw 18th and walk and fish all the down, it's a good walk. Second overlooked place is north of glades, just walk it up from glades to the golf course.

Best Long Sleeve Fishing Shirts?
My wife bought me an obnoxious colored Columbia shirt, I would call it "Bright Coral", what the hell was she thinking of. I't's been hanging in the closet for 3 years, unworn. I just bought a few long sleeved T's from Penn, these are super light weight, cool and comfortable. My Guy Harvey's are heavier, good for cooler weather.

Long-Lining ????
Whatever means someone uses to catch a fish is fine with me as long as it does not violate state or local laws. What is legal in a tournament is up the the governing body, I think state or local laws should apply as well. If I understand this, a fisherman casts out a lure then puts the boat under power with the intent of letting out more line. Once that distance is reached then it's motor off and retrieve begins. Evan a lure at total rest laying there motionless has the possibility of being hit by a fish, if this would happen I'd say the fish was caught trolling because the boat was under power at the time of the strike. I'm not critical of the tactic in fact I don't think it's a bad thing to try, but as far as I'm concerned it's trolling regardless of any other name that's placed on it.

Do You Match Your Gear?
As long as the equipment functions well and I'm catching fish, the aesthetics aren't important too me.

Best Long Sleeve Fishing Shirts?
I don't often wear any synthetic material unless the temperature is moderate, they are too hot. I prefer cotton.

Best Braid Hook
If one is having problems it's most likely user error. Simple clinch knots hold 100# fish on 30# test with no problem. Eagle claw and Mustad hooks don't break under the pressure of some very hard fighting good sized fish. None of my lines, braid or mono break, regardless of brand. True I do not make hard hooksets, but have discovered I really don't have to. If one chooses to use better quality, hooks, lines, rods and reels, then there should be even less of a problem. There is no magic bullet that replaces knowing how to catch and land fish, improve your technique, you'll be further ahead. If I lose a fish I take the blame, I don't look for excuses............No lands them all.

Which Would You Rather?
Lake Fork for 2 reasons, fished Lake Erie most of my life and never have been to Lake Fork. Lake Fork isn't far from the Gulf and I'd be there on the same trip.

Im Hooked!!!!
I don't know about Kuwait. but it's pretty standard equipment that can be bought in most tackle shops that cater to saltwater fishing. The same need would apply to fishing off a freshwater pier, some local shops may carry them and they can always be bought on line, priced 30-40$

Can Fishing
Down here it's called a Cuban rig, not an uncommon sight. They use a can or an old line spool. Yhey throw the bait out by hand, they can heave it pretty far, I've seen a few guys using a 2 oz spoon and pulling the line in to catch fish.

Redfish And Trout Next Weekend :)
Fish them them pretty much the same as bass and snook. Most bass plugs, spoons, bucktails will work well, spinnerbaits too, they do make specific ones for redfish,

Long-Lining ????
I'm not critical, I've done off beat things myself. I may not have read the op close enough, it sounded very similar to trolling. I don't fish tournaments and have no idea of what the rules are. Being a recreational fisherman, just about anything goes. I do believe extra depth can be obtained using an inline sinker, it does for us, how much deeper I don't know. These weights go from 1/2 oz and I've seen them as high as 10lbs. Just to give an idea of what they look like, btw postitioned high up on the leader the action of the lure is not effected. http://compare.ebay.com/like/290462172470?_lwgsi=y<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar

Got Out For Some Offshore Action
When I go out with my partners, we fish 1 rod at a time not as many tangles but we do get them. I go with this friend once week on his boat, he likes having 3-4 lines in the water and I have 2 or 3. The nature of these fish are to run and strip out lots of line, quite common for them to circle the boat, you have to move around with them keeping them in front of you. Don't mistake small boat fishing with being on a larger boat sitting in a fighting chair, the Captain will be moving the boat as to try and keep the fish off the stern. I caught the king using conventional gear, an Avet mxj, 30# mono on a Star handicraft 25lb rod. The cobia was caught using spinning gear, a Penn conquer 7000, 30# PP on a Redbone 30# boat rod. Too much risk in fishing lighter, reels with lesser drags and lighter rods, increases your chances of being spooled, these fish are no where near the potential size they can get. By many peoples standards I'm fishing light as it is. That said, can we catch fish this size inshore on light tackle, without a doubt, 2 different ballgames.

Long-Lining ????
If a boat is under power with a lure trailing I don't see how it can be interpreted any other way than trolling. I personally do not care to have 150'+ line out, I think the chances of getting unbuttoned are increased. I feel there is fatigue factor if you are holding the rod, placing the rod in the rod holder removes any doubt whether you are trolling or not. I've trolled for bluefish and many other kinds of fish in the ocean, plugs, spoons, streamers quite commonly "bounce" on the surface, that's ok, those fish will come and get it. If you want your lure deeper, use a planer or trolling in line sinker, or slow the boat down a bit.

Jig Fishing With Spinning Gear
I jig with spinning gear all the time mainly because I don't own or like b/c. Med and Mh rods are fine up to a point, that point is the weight of the jig. Once I get near that 1 oz mark or more of a profile to that jig that creates water resistance, that's when I feel a jig specific rod is beneficial, my back gets sore especially if it's deep water jigging.

Got Out For Some Offshore Action
We have caught sails in less than 100', but sails aren't too strong now, they like rough water in the wintertime. We pretty much fish between 75-125' but it varies in location, when I fish our of Riveria Beach we fish 120-200', but no dolphins. Our beach fishing is poor down here, need to getup to Hobe Sound, I am catching some snook in the ICW and the inlet.

Im Hooked!!!!
It may be something in the mackerel family, kingfish have a different pattern, almost looks like a wahoo. A sabiki rig is use for catch bait like sardines, not likely a sabiki rig could hold a king or wahoo, hooks are too small and the line is 7#, they do make bigger ones though. Whatever the second fish is, it's awesome, that's a pretty stout rod too, good for what you are doing.

Im Hooked!!!!
Unless they have different names for fish there you didn't catch a kingfish on a sabiki. The queeenfish is probably a queen triggerfish. Might be a little blacktip reef shark, just so many different species of them. There are blacktips(deep water and pretty big) blacktip reef sharks ( smalland close to shore) and there are reef sharks( up to 200# and off reefs) You muscle those fish and you won't land them. You must trust your drag and let those fish run, steadily increasing the drag if needed, but don't over do it.

Got Out For Some Offshore Action
Hadn't been out in a while due to the weather, and the last few times were so good. The bite wasn't hot but what we did catch was pretty nice. We both had our limit on both species, only 1 & 2.....are allowed. Decent size king fish, these guys don't fight until they see the boat, then it's game on. The cobia nearly yanked the rod out of the rod holder. My better cobia is still swimming, I didn't boat it. As I was fighting the fish we had a kingfish flopping around on the deck and several other rods with line in the water, my partner had a fish on at the same time, it was a little bit of chaos. After doing a 360 around the boat maybe 2 or 3 times( and tangled with a few other lines) I got it to the side of the boat, one final thrust and I was cut off on the trim tab........pitty, this fish was easily 10-15# larger, but as we had our limit it would have been released anyway.

What Is Your Dream Combo?
I'm pretty well set right now. I went into BPS the other day with every intention of buying something. Looking around at rods and reels, thought to myself, I like what I have and I'm already catching great fish, I don't need or want anything, left with a few bucktails. When the need or desire arises I'm sure I'll buy something, most of my equipment is bought on a whim at the moment.

Inshore Rods For Bass
For open water bass fishing my 7' 8/17 inshore rods work well, but a 7'6" 8/17 med is just too much rod. However fishing cover I may use an inshore mh 10/20 7', but again my 7'6" 10/20 rod imo is just overkill. The lure weights and line may be the same on the 7 and 7'6", but they are far from the same rod.

Skinny/narrow Tie
Me too ! Boy have things ever changed. My first serious job (it was corporate too) was my only interview in life, I answered a want ad in the Detroit News, hired on the spot and started within a few days. That was in 1967 and I was out of college for just a couple of weeks. Back then improving your career was called "one thing leading to another", today it's called "networking".
