Are We Witnessing The Extinction Of Cork Grips?
Probably have no problem with foam rod grips, using them on all off shore rods now, but hope reel grips don't go that way.......I like rubberish (ya know what I mean) power grips

How Big Is This Bass?
Agree, but gotta say personal catching history dictates in some people's mind what is scale, photo or brag worthy.

New Daiwa Spinning Reels
Terms like marine grade bronze, aircraft grade aluminum or surgical stainless steel are misleading as those items are not metals but alloys. Marine bronze has many alloys, for example 60 cu/40 tin, resistant to seawater, used for hardware, not suitable for gears. Aluminum bronze, of which there are number of alloys for that item too often times is 85cu/10 alum/ trace of fe.....very suitable for gears and bearings, probably ideal for a fishing reel..........cheap too. I'm not a metallurgist, but being in the scrap metal business for 35 years I've bought tens of thousands of pounds of all that stuff.

What To Put Into My Tackle Box!?
My rule of thumb is "if you can't get into your pockets you don't need it". Always a 12 led flashlight hanging on my neck, Blacktip pliers, cuts everything and dehooks fish. 1 hard jerk bait, 1 spoon, 1 top lure, jigheads for soft plastic jerk shads, 1 rod and reel. Pretty much the same equipment for freshwater and inshore fishing. Backup equipment is never far away.

Treble In Finger
Sometimes you can pull it out or push it thru and cut the barb, other times a doctor has to do it. I've been on both sides.

Your "turning Point" Purchase
Can't think of anything.....caught a lot of fish 50 years ago and I'm still doing it. I just go with the flow.

New Daiwa Spinning Reels
If I were to venture a guess, assuming that you are correct that it's bronze, it may be aluminum bronze, trade name Ampco. It's one of of the cheapest alloys and it's fairly hard for a brass alloy. I'm just guessing.

Possible Negative Effects Of Broken Guide
Why wait? Only takes a few days to get it repaired.

Storm Kickin Stick
IMO a company does not bring products to market if they don't work, just costs too much money to have products not selling. I have never owned a lure that hasn't caught fish, I may have my favorites that i think catch more, but the fish may have been on and I could have caught them on anything. For a few bucks you have nothing to lose.

Braid
If a person thinks one brand of line over another is going to catch them more and bigger fish, I think that may be an error in judgement. From mono to braid, form low end to high end, I don't think productivity is going to change, boils down to a matter of personal preference. It's only line, give it a shot. Catt is right when says he fish are caught between the ears, just find the fish, the equipment is secondary.

Over-Analyzing
Fish are on or off, I don't go any further than that.

Dipping Snuff
I was 100% healthy too ...........until it caught up to me, you won't know of any negative effects until it's too late...........

Dipping Snuff
Barely out of puberty and already a medical expert. Tobacco products have a cumulative negative effect, at 15 yo it's unlikely to show signs of wear and tear on ones body. Hasn't your dentist told you smoking is one of the leading causes of heart attacks? Hasn't he told you smoking creates plaque that leads to gum disease? I'd be in the market for a new dentist. Being a smoker myself I can tell you it takes it toll after many years. Lungs may be fine now, but many smokers have COPD, like me, gum disease like me and have spent 20k so far on bone graffs, sinus lifts, implants and I'm not done yet. This ordeal is now going on 2 years of discomfort and major expense. This is just tip the iceberg of the medical problems than can occur from tobacco. Not only are these products very costly on a day to day basis, but premiums are much higher( if they write you at all) for life insurance and healthcare. I know people have gr parents that smoked for 75 years and lived to 90.........those are just a few of the lucky ones, many aren't that fortunate. To paraphrase something Roadwarrior said a few weeks ago, "don't take this kid's advice".

Where Are Some Good Spots For Pecock Bass
I'm in Delray, gotta admit I haven't been concentrating on bass at all, I don't start fishing for them until Nov or Dec.

Biggest Fish You've Hooked?
00 mod.........that was one great marlin............without doubt you are the man of the year.
-
Small Hooks??
I use the hooks lures come with, don't see a need to change them until it's really needed. I have many lures ( spoons too) with only 1 or 2 hooks left on the treble and I actually prefer it, some guys break them off on purpose or replace trebles with single hooks( siwash). Not a person in the world that doesn't lose fish.
-
Johnny Morris's???
I bought a JM spinning reel last year, it lasted only a week before I returned it and purchased something else.

Where Are Some Good Spots For Pecock Bass
Haven't seen a peacock in over a year in Palm Beach county.

Right Or Left
I've heard the inventor of the b/c reel was left handed and put the crank on his right hand, true I don;t know. I prefer cranking with my left hand regardless of the type of equipment, for repetitive casting and retrieving. Larger conventional reels don't make too much difference to me as I'm pulling up with both arms then reeling in on the drop.

Biggest Fish You've Hooked?
Most of my larger fish are estimated not weighed. I have caught and weighed a 100# amberjack, nothing I ever caught fought harder. A few weeks back I caught a black tip shark, we estimated about 200#. I caught a 61lb cobia on fresh water spinning gear, at the time I didn't know there was a difference in gear, there is! At 30 years old I could have pulled Moby Dick in with a cane pole, but at 65 things are different.....lol. Going offshore about 2 times a week, yeh I've caught some really big ones. The only larger fish I've weighed is on charters, fishing with my buddies it's difficult to boat and weigh fish over 100#. Most of the those larger fish are run down with the boat, I don't take credit for catching marlin, sure they have been big, but captain finds the fish, selects the baits, runs the fish down and all I supplied was the muscle for a 2 hour battle. Inshore the fish run smaller, I catch a lot of tarpon, not the 200 pounders, but in the 20-80# range.

Dipping Snuff
I never heard the term dip, I thought it was chewing tobacco. Do your wives and girl friends chew and spit too? How would feel about them doing it, for me it's a big turnoff, imagine what they think about you.

Decisions
Go to sleep about 9. Just really read a couple of things, doesn't take too long and I'm out the door,I got the prep down pat. This is not the kind of fishing where you are going to catch 20-40 or 100 fish in day, unless there is a bait run. I'm happy if I catch 1 or 2 fish, many days I catch nothing. Most important tool is patience, however I have had some awesome rewards. Without a doubt my favorite kind of fishing.

Decisions
Toughest inshore fishing I've seen in years. I've been up to Juno several times and it's slow even there. but I only fish the beach, don't care for the pier. I haven't had a snook close to 40" so far this year.
