thanks, those really arent to big of fish for our here and compared to last spring the size has gone down. But the numbers of fish being caught are getting insane.

Been out fishing about once a week for the last couple monthes and the bite seems to be a lot better here with all the rains weve been getting. Most of the fish are caught on mattlures small bluegill swimbaits, and the rest on 4lb flouro on flylined worms. With the bluegills moving onto the beds and are very easy pickings for the bass this time of the year, theres nothing better to resemble a gill. also found the lake record for skinner floating

diamond valley lake, lake dixon, lake hodges, lake wolford, lake murray, castaic, casitas,

its great, it works so good i leave most of my other spinning set ups at home becuase they dont come close, the drag system is amazing and it lands big fish on 4lb test line all the time.

Most of the fish have been caught on dropshot robo worms, light line 6lb test flourocarbon,jigs, and mattlures swimbaits. My little brothers is out here visiting from Indiana right now and has already beat his PB on just two fishing trips. Nice to see him catching fish out here. Also with sambass(julian) we got into some trout while we where bass fishing using the dropshot. A little shocking when it got to the boat.

If your going to get a male over 5lb san v is where its at. To bad the lakes closed til 2017 but its going to be great when it reopens. And the comments on fishing pressure leading to a world record sized fish sounds like it would make sense but look at lake dixon. Where dottie was last caught at 25lbs on a 70 acre lake than rents out all of its boats daily and has a fisherman every 5 feet of shoreline and on the lake. Doesnt get more pressured then that. I was at dixon lake when dottie died and i saw the floating fish. She had just got done spawning and she was a very old fish. And talking about genetics. Just about every lake it southern california got their florida strain stock from upper otay lakes and where distributed to lake hodges, mirimar, wolford, dixon, lake murray, san v, lake poway, lake jennings,etc and acount for the majority of fish on the top 20 list. 70 percent of the bass on the all time 20 big fish list came from the same stock at upper otay lakes in san diego county.

nice fish. id say a heavy 4. The way your holding it tho it could be a 4 or a 6. It doesnt really give it justice

so whats happening is when you put the fish just past your head your shrinking the heck outa the fish. lol your making it look as small as possible. Those are some good fish but you just need to work on making them look bigger. youd look at your avatar and say ok looks like a good 5 then you look at it next to your foot and you think ok thats a 7 or bigger.

thanks matt, and sorry to hear bout the hunting trip. My messages disappeard from the sd but what swimbaits usually do good at el cap, i know they dont stock trout so maybe a baby bass color, cuz i didnt see to many bluegill around either. Tons of micro bass as far as the eye can see is all i ran into all day.

i wouldnt use a swimbait rod with it because its to stiff and i changed out the swivel and put a smaller one on.

you can call if whatever you want but dont try and call me a liar. Ive been slaying fish out here since i moved and been filming for over two years and compete in socal tournaments. It takes to much effort and time by the other fisherman to film a entire complete day while theyre fishing. What happens is well stick a fish say fish on the other guy grabs the camera you get the fight, the fish and the release on film. And if you watch the video the fish is fighting very well and jumping.

So I found out today when you throw a Jitterfish into boils in can be really rewarding. Day started off rainy and windy but the bite was a better one then ive experienced in awhile and landed a bunch of quality fish. On one cast with the jitterfish it got destroyed on a steady slow retrieve and the fish shot down and all the sudden boom it gets hit again and goes limp with no fight but i can tell theirs still a fish on, it comes to the surface and its a double hookup on the same lure and one gets airborne at the surface. ended with around 25 fish 6 fish on the jitter. no thats how clear the water is its crazy. You can look down up to 20 to 25 feet on a sunny day and see your lure perfect on a rock. Light line is a must on anytime of fishing their.

its diamond valley lake which has a tournament on it about twice a week and is becoming pretty popular the other one is lake dixon where the 25lb bass was caught by mac weakly. Lake dixon is a small body of water the only allows electric motors and diamond valley lake the biggest resev around my area.

these fish where caught on mattlures, robos, senkos and jigs and flukes on light line for the most part 6lb to 4lb floro and ten fluoro on the mattlures
