  1. I will be fishing from a boat normally...Thanks for the advice on watermellon worms. Any thoughts on what lakes to start on in mid Indiana?
  2. I really like fishing but my job has me in a location where only small, hard fished, lakes are around. Fishing can be frustrating. The bigger lakes are so busy in the summer with recreational boaters it is no use going out...too worried about getting hit by other boats. I would be willing to take weekend trips but am not too familiar with lakes in Indiana or Illinois that would be worth driving to. So...request would be for tips for heavily fished lakes and finding fish in shallower lakes (say under 20'). Also, recommendations on lakes in Indiana to fish would be appreciated.
  3. Being a newbie, I would have liked to do this but the only tourney I could get to (kentucky lake) is already full with 22 on the waiting list. I would have been nice to just watch a pro fish and see what they were using and doing. Would have been well worth the $100 for me. No need to apply this year ... at least for that tourney.
  4. I know this is the place to come for a little advice...specifically where to pick up some good references on bass fishing techniques. I have to admit I do not know as much as I would like to and do not catch the amount/quality of fish others do so I am reaching out for a little guideance. Any pointers to good information would be much appreciated. I thought I would start here rather than go to BPS and just buy DVDs. Thanks!
  5. Thanks for the replies! I really like the center design and the fact you can walk around both sides. In the showroom, it is a really nice looking boat but I have always been a little shy of Nitro quality based only on what I have read in the past. I always find myself saying ... I wonder how this compares to Ranger... maybe I should look at Ranger closer. I do like my Triton but it is a Fish and Ski (SF188)....probably will upgrade to a pure bass boat. Bought it for "family use" but my wife now says she does not like to go fast so very rarely goes with my son and I. In bad weather, it is only him and I and only on occasion do we take a 3rd or 4th.
  6. Likely a battery type boat... How about "Depth Charge"???
  7. I am looking at Bass Boats (currently own a Triton) and really like the layout of the new Z9 center counsel .... lots of storage and it can seat 4 people across. I like my Triton and am looking at all brands but have heard rumors of Nitro quality issues...just rumors. Anybody have some input on this? Thanks!
  8. Hello from NW Indiana...we moved here (Valpo area) a little over a year ago. Any suggestions on decent water to fish on up here? Or, how about decent day trips to bigger waters?
  9. Does anybody know of a club in NW Indiana (Valparaiso area) that we can contact and possibly hook up with ? My son and I moved to the area within the last 1.5 years. Thanks!
