Tungsten Weights Cutting Line
My main line is braid but the weight and Carolina keeper are on a 3-4' mono leader.

Tungsten Weights Cutting Line
I have started fishing tungsten bullet weights on Carolina rigs and the weights seem to be cutting my line when fishing in rocks. I am running braid with a 14 lb mono leader and Carolina keepers. I like the feel of the tungsten but is there a way to keep it from shredding the mono? Would weights with plastic inserts work better?

Going To Look At This Boat Tomorrow
I think saw this on Boat Trader earlier today. It's a good looking boat but I think it's a little high. I would be interested for about $15k-$16k. As for materials if it has really been garaged and taken care of it should be fine.

Hummingbird Or Power Pole Purchase
I bought a new boat last year with both. I use the SI every outing. I rarely use the Power Poles.

How Many Of You Cast Bc Gear With Either Hand?
I am right handed but I cast with whatever hand puts the rod over the bow of the boat. I have a dual console and I hit my wind shield when I cast over the boat. I taught myself to go left with a spinning rod.

I think TT went out of business.

Humminbird® Fishfinder 570 Di Sonar Fishfinder
I would rather get a 596C than a 570DI. While the down image technology is cool, a quality color unit will serve you better in the long run.

St Croix Premier Pc70Mm Opinions
What is the heaviest lure you would throw with it?

St Croix Premier Pc70Mm Opinions
I am thinking about this rod for small crank baits like Bandit 100-300s and -1s. Have any of you guys used this rod and what's your opinion of it. It doesn't feel overly whippy to me but it's hard to tell without a bait tied to the end of it.

Lures For Small Bass
Hook sounds a little big to me too. I think 2/0 or 3/0 is plenty

Abu Garcia SX vs. Shimano Curado 200e7 and a Rod
I have 3 Revos and 11 Curados now, 7 are E series. The Revos are nice but they're no Curado. For the rods, I'm a St. Croix fan so get a mojo or Avid.

braided line question
Take a wide felt tipped marker of whatever color and cut the tip in the middle with a razor blade. Put the line in the groove you cut and pull it through. It works great.

Cost of Replacing Ranger Seat Surfaces
I bought a cover set from Ranger several years ago that were OEM replacements. They were about $450 if I remember right.

On-Board Charger Question
I just put a 24V TM on a small boat I have in place of a 12V. The boat came with a 2 bank charger on it. My question is can I use a 2 bank to charge both TM batteries and let the motor take care of the starting battery. I'm just not sure if both banks are deep cycle chargers.

The BPS in Atlanta just had the T1's on sale Friday 5 for $10.

Sworming Hornet Fish Head
Not 100% true, try ripping it up like you would stroke a jig. That fleeing bait fish looks will get you tons of bites.

How light can you go on a BC?
The lightest bait I fish on a BC regularly is a 3/16 shad rap. I have thrown 1/8 oz crappie jigs but prefer spinning reels for them. I fish t-rigs with a 1/16th oz weight but when you add the hook and worm it weighs about 1/4 oz. I throw shad raps on a 7'MLEF, Curado, and 10lb flouro.

help me pick a jerkbait setup
I use a 6'6" medium spinning rod or a 6' medium bait caster. Both are moderate action. I use the spinning reel when the water is cold and the bait needs to be worked slow. The casting rod is for warm water.

Baitcaster v. Spinning
I think the bait caster you learn with has a lot to do with how easily you can learn it. A higher end reel usually has a better braking system and more precise spool tension that makes it easier to use. My first bait caster was a cheap Quantum and I hated it. After I bought a Curado I was hooked on them.

so I bought a 50e
x2, The slower gearing makes me slow down my presentation but is still plenty fast if I need to catch up to a fish heading towards me.

left over braid
An even easier way is to have one of the kids walk down the drive pulling the line until the backing is through the eyes. Then you just cut it off walk to the other end, retie and reel it back in.

left over braid
And when the 20 yards you are actually fishing with gets weak you can take it off and put the good end out.

ANTI-spinning reel line twist theory....could it work??
Why not fish them on a baitcaster instead?
