5:1 deep cranking reel?
x2, I have a rod dedicated to DD22s with a 3.8 Curado. I use a 5.8 Cardiff for medium divers.

hi vis braid
I've been using yellow Power pro for a few years now. You see the line move before you ever feel the bite.

favorite baitcasters
Shimano Core 50, Curado B and E, Chronarch in that order.
-
crappie jig colors
I use Kalins Wally World, Bad Blood and John Deere Green. If the water is muddy I go to black/chartreuse or june bug/chartreuse.

Bad Winter, Need Coaching
On Allatoona or Carter's look for the rock bluff walls. The ones facing east heat up faster. I use a Zoom finesse or 4" squirrel tail on a jig head fished painfully slow. Your cast should take several minutes to get back to the boat. Just don't wear any of that tacky Ga Tech apparel. These fish prefer red and black.

Auburn
Cam is definitely the best QB money can buy, but you're right Oregon can't compete with them.

Census-How many of you use Megastrike Fishing Products-WHY /WHY NOT
I have tried the Megastrike scent, evolution stand up heads and the jigs. The scent I feel I do better with Bang or JJ's garlic, The jigheads worked well in open water but I fish thick nasty brush and they hung up too bad. The jigs were good but for the money I can make my own. I'm sure you guys make the perfect products for some people but they just aren't for me. If you were to make a cheaper version of the Owner Sledhead jig heads I'd be all over them.

Slow year for big fish?
I usually get a 10+ from Guntersville every year but so far 5-6lb has been the norm with 1 8.5lber this spring. We had a brutally cold winter (for the south anyway) I been blaming it on.

Does your dog like to fish too?
When my fishing buddy can't go with me I take my Rottie, my lhasa apso, my sheltie mix with me in the bass boat. All 3 just lay there until I hook a fish then the Rott stands up. If I go pond hopping in my jon boat just my rott goes.

Planting brush piles before a tournament...
If FLW doesn't care why should you? I put out 40-50 Christmas trees around my home lake every year and sometimes fish them during tourneys. When fish are holding close to cover you have to fish cover.

St Croix Mojo rod
I had a Mojo MLXF for a while as a drop shot rod. I didn't care for it. It felt too flimsy even for dropshotting. I replaced it with a G Loomis SHR that I got on Ebay cheap.

Need Help re: a 798Ci SI
First off make sure you restore factory settings BEFORE you try to install the updates. After you do this put the card in the slot and turn it on. It should do the rest. If it doesn't try downloading it again. Mine worked first time and has worked flawlessly.

Side imaging in shallow water?
I'm not sure about Side Scan, but my HB 997SI won't really work well that shallow. You also have to be moving 2-3 mph to get a clear pic. I don't think you can get the full 480' each side that shallow either.

Jon boat paint
I am finally ready to paint my 14' jon boat inside and out. What's the best way to do it CHEAP? I bought this thing as a cheap boat for smaller lakes that my bass boat won't fit in and it's becoming a money pit.

Power-Pole Who's got one?
My club partner has a 8' Pro on his Ranger Z520 and it's great. We have fished in very high winds with no problems. When the waves are rolling you need to deduct the wave height from the PP's depth i.e. 1' swells rollings in means you have to be in water no deeper than 6 1/2-7'. The hydraulics keep pressure down regardless of how much the boat rises. If you are anchored in 4' of water and a 3' wave comes through the pole will extend to 7' as the boat moves up and relocate as it goes down.

Jon boat sealant
What is the best way to seal around bolts on an aluminum boat. The bolts attach the wood transom to the outer aluminum skin.

200 Evinrude Ficht powerhead cost?
If you can get a FICHT powerhead for $1000-$1500 I'll take 5 of them. Iboats lists them for $3499 plus $600 core. As way2slow said, you then have to find out what killed it to start with and reprogram the ECM. If you're a new boat owner I advise you not start with a money pit.

BPS tough on Shimano
If you guys seriously want to help someone with your unwanted tackle and can't find a kid that needs it please contact the USO. We have fellow anglers in Iraq that would love to have some decent tackle. They need lures as well as rods and reels so just remember them when you're cleaning the stuff out of your tackle boxes.

Kim Bain-Moore
I'm amazed at all the negativity about I see on the web about her. She's fishing in the Classic while I'm watching it on TV so I have no room to talk.

Fishhead Spin
Last year I caught my biggest bass to date (10.2lbs) fishing a fishhead spin with a little dipper on it. Since then I have fished it a lot more but seem to get short strikes or lose fish after the hook up. I've tried to set the hook harder but I think I rip the bait out of their mouths. Do any of you guys fish these? What trailers do you use (maybe mine's too big for the hook)? I fish them on a baitcaster with 14lb mono, would braid hook up better? Any help is appreciated.
