Shimano Cruxis Vs. Shimano Citica
Cruxis are OK, Citicas are better but go ahead and spend the money and get a Chronarch. Tackle Warehouse has Chronarch 51s for $186 or you can always try Ebay.

crappie tackle help
I fish a 6'6" BPS Micro-Lite spinning rod with 4lb flouro on a Shimano Sedona 1500. It cast 1/16 and 1/32 crappie jigs pretty well and is a lot of fun with a 1-2lb slab on the other end.

Transducer Suggestions
Sorry, it's a Ranger 393V. I have thought about the new TM but I hate to spend that much money.

Transducer Suggestions
I just got a new Lowrance HDS-5 for the bow of my boat and can't decide which transducer to get. Which is the best way to mount it? I currently have it on the TM but was wondering if through hull would be better. Will I lose any sensitivity going through the fiberglass?

winter fishing
The fishing feast or famine for me since December. I have caught most of mine on a shakey head or a jig. It's supposed to be in the high 60s or low 70s for the next few days so hopefully winter is over.

Re: CHECK THIS OUT!!! 42lb bag on jigging spoons
What a shame. >

Cajun Line?
Tried it a few years ago on some microlites for crappie fishing and it was horrible. Had a lot of memory, wrapped around the rod tip when casting 1/16oz jigs. Maybe they are doing better now.

Split Cork handle rods
Thanks guys, I figured it was just for looks but wasn't sure.

Standing Timber???
Nobody uses crankbaits in standing timber? The lake I fish has miles of standing timber that are in 20-100' deep water. I use wide billed cranks and fishhead spins bumping them off the trees.

my citica e for shakey heading
I had the same problem with my Curado. It would cast the weight ok but after awhile of taking up loose line the spool would get loops and start backlashing. I use a PTi 4000 series for lightweight jigs and shakey heads now.

Dumb Purchases
I vote the Storm Swimbaits too. My wife says my Mustang inflatable PFD is money wasted. Haven't fell in since I got it. ;D

your favourite flourocarbon as main line
I use Seaguar Invisix on my spinning rod and Berkley 100% on my casting rods.

Split Cork handle rods
I was wondering, besides a small weight savings, what is the benefit of the split handles like the Carrot Stix and St Croix Legend or Mojo? Do you get increased sensitivity by having your hand on the rod instead of cork? I ask because I'm looking for a new 7' MH casting rod.

Have you ever had a run in with a Anti-Fishermen
When I was about 16 I was camping with some friends up in the N. GA mountains and we decided to go out and catch our dinner. We were catching crappie and throwing the keepers in a cooler for later when a woman came up cackling about how cruel is was to let the fish die in that cooler but when we stood up she left. I guess you're supposed to have a veterinarian on hand to euthanize your fish before you fry them.

How old is your state LMB record?
:-? What do you mean ? what he means is that he thinks the record is a fake. Especially since it was back during times that the regulations surrounding catches weren't as strict. Also, even the scales used to weigh it might not have been accurate back then. And the fact that Georgia probably doesn't have anything close to that size swimming around. I have started to think it's bogus too. But, regardless, California has given up ones just ounces shy so the record would still be up there out of reach of most of us. Montgomery Lake was not much more than a farm pond like thousands of others in GA. I think as some of these old farmers pass away and their kids keep opening up the family lands to outside anglers we might just see a 20+ in GA. I don't think it will ever come from any impoundments where tournaments are held or boaters regularly travel.

Zoom Super Speed Craw.
I've been fishing them on a carolina rig for awhile with good results. I don't think they would make a good trailer.

Strike King, Sexy Shad Color Baits?
Quality is poor but I have caught a few nice fish on a series 5. I've done better with ghost color Rapalas myself.

Cabelas
I trade with both places. BPS does have more variety but Cabelas does have things you can't get at BPS. I buy their real image spoons all the time.

Now that its over wasnt the chatterbait craze fun!
I have never caught much on my chatterbaits but my nephew has caught them pretty good with a chatter frog including a 6+ lb LM at night.

Extreme Turbo Rig
My neighbor at our lakehouse bought one last year and it looked like it might work until he set it in the back of a creek in about 5' of water and the "rock" floated off. Complete waste of money.

Favorite of 08'
Spot Remover with 6" dead ringer watermelon/chartreuse or c-rig little dipper in bullfrog color.

I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death, but.......
I use power pro braid with either seaguar or berkley 100% leaders and berkley XL for crank baits. I usually have 1 mono caster in the boat and everything else is braid.

My questions is do any of you guys have one and if so how long do they last and what does it cost to replace the bulb?
