  1. Awesome fish. I am headed up to Maine for 4 days of fishing tomorrow morning. Hopefully we can find some fish like those!
  2. Nice fish NH Bass Tard. I have some pictures from Umbagog but am having trouble posting them. I will try to get them up tomorrow.
  3. Just got back from a weekend in Errol fishing lake Umbagog. Caught 45 fish with my dad, the biggest were just shy of 3#. Most were caught on senkos and grubs fished around rocks, weeds or wood. I still haven't found the real big bass in that lake, but the numbers make it worth the trip. Overall it was an awesome weekend with my dad.
  4. Cool, great looking fish. I am going to Maine for a 4 day trip in July and cannot wait. What part of Maine were you in?
  5. Got out Monday, Tuesday and today. Caught 10 at Massabesic on monday, 11 at Massasecum on tuesday and 8 today at Massabesic today. No giants but a bunch over 2 pounds and some around 3. Overall pretty good fishing still. Headed up north again this weekend.
  6. I fished Lake Umbagog with 2 friends Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. We caught a total of 55 fish. Almost all were smallmouths and the biggest were just under 3 pounds. We caught most of the fish on soft plastics including senkos, grubs, fat ika, etc. We also saw a moose swiming in the water about 75 feet off shore. Overall we had a great time and caught some nice fish.
  7. I am heding up to Lake Umbagog this weekend for the first time this year. If anyone has fished it or other lakes up north I would appreciate any tips or advice. Any info on lures, areas to fish, water temp, etc. would be great to point us in the right direction. Thanks.
  8. Just got back from Massasecum Lake where we caught 7 fish in a few hours. All were on senkos and they seemed to be hitting all different colors. Also have fished Massabesic the past few days with pretty good luck.
  9. I fished Massabesic on Friday and caught one 3lb 2oz bass on a senko. Also caught 5 bass at Lake Massasecum on senkos and tubes.
  10. I was wondering if anyone has fished Squam Lake yet this year. In the past I have caught some nice fish there on gurbs, senkos and topwater. Any report on what is going on up there so far this year?
  11. I have the mojo jerkbait rod with a black widow II and love it. I think you will be happy with a similar combo.
  12. In NH, the annual lisence is $35. I have never paid to launch my boat and hope I never have to.
  13. Thanks for the link. I will check that website out. After some more research online I think I might try one of the resevoirs in Burlington. They have boats available to rent there which would be much better than fishing from shore.
  14. I want to get out and fish to relieve some of the stress from the end of school. I have never fished for bass in NC and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I go to Elon and am hoping to find a place to fish from shore within a 20-30 minute drive. Any suggestions would be great. Also, what baits are working well this time of year? Thanks for any help.

I bought the tool last year and love it. I actually lost it for a few weeks and had to resort to putting o rings on with 2 pairs of pliers. It was not easy and almost impossible to do solo. For the price, save yourself the aggravation and buy the tool. Also, the o-rings that they sell with it are much cheaper than I have found at a hardware store.
  16. I have never had a problem keeping jumping bass on. I think the key is keeping constant pressure on the line so the hook cannot come free. Last summer I joined a friend fishing for Mako sharks (who are notorious jumpers) and the key to that was to point the rod at the fish and reel when they jump. Might apply to bass too?
  17. I am planning on fishing for stripers from the beach in NH and RI this summer and want to upgrade my rod. I want a longer surf rod for better casting and am not sure how long is ideal. Cabelas has surf combos that go up to 12 ft. For mostky fishing bait with the occasional artificials, what rod length (or specific rod) would you suggest. I am hoping on spending less than $200 on the combo if possible. Also, what type of line is best for this type of fishing? Thanks for and help.
  18. Nice bird. Turkey hunting has always interested me becasue of how smart they are. Its on my list of new things to try.
  19. Cool, has anyone been watching when the parents bring food back to the nest? Proably some fish.
  20. Awesome fish!!! I cannot wait to go fishing up in your neck of the woods in July. Nice pictures too.
  21. The Canes have actually held their own agains New Jersey. They won big last night to send the series to game 7. I guess like any sports, you have to get hot at the right time.
  22. After watching the first week or NHL playoffs, who looks good and who has been most disappointing? I like the Bruins and Penguins, they both have some weapons. I think San Jose has been the biggest disappointment. They have been playing no where near the level they are capable of. Any other hockey fans?
  23. I agree, but it is just going to make the sweep feel beter. Go Bruins!
  24. I have not tried the Tierra with mono yet. I have it spooled with 20# powerpro. I also plan to spool the spare with 6# yo zuri ultra soft. It works great with the braid so far.
  25. Tackle Warehouse for fishing stuff (Rods, reels, lures, etc.), but Cabelas for anything outdoors related. They have BPS beat in customer service which is the deciding factor for me.
