  1. And then there's always this one: http://video.search.yahoo.com/video/play?p=one%20tin%20soldier%20song&tnr=21&vid=280402592500&l=200&turl=http%3A%2F%2Fts1.mm.bing.net%2Fvideos%2Fthumbnail.aspx%3Fq%3D280402592500%26id%3D348fee3045366e3ea7ff5f4499de210c%26bid%3DmWbVCo%252bfdvKRmA%26bn%3DThumb%26url%3Dhttp%253a%252f%252fwww.youtube.com%252fwatch%253fv%253dqswm7lHp7oY&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dqswm7lHp7oY&sigr=11atvl60d&newfp=1&***=One+Tin+Soldier+-+The+Legend+of+Billy+Jack
  2. Hands down for me is "When you come back to me again" by Garth Brooks from the movie Frequency: http://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?p=when+you+come+back+to+me+again I've almost worn a hole in my CD listening to this one over and over again.
  3. I have just started venture beyond 6-6 a little bit - at first it just seemed awkward, but after sticking it out, now it works well for me. One thing that I do for all of my jig fishing is use braided line - I like 20# to 30# Power Pro - it helps me with the hooksets and is easier for me to control on the filips/pitches - and you won't have trouble horsin' 'em out of the brush piles.
  4. They made MNF a part of the culture - before them, it was just another game. Priceless quotes that I remember: "If wishes and nuts were candy and nuts, what a Merry Christmas we'd all have" "If a foggy had wings, he wouldn't bump his butt when he walked". He was definitely one of a kind.

  9. I can't remember what the first one I actually used was (this would have been a half-century ago ) - but I do remember digging through my Dad's tackle box and tying on a Hula-popper and a Lazy Ike (probably using a square knot )- I do remember the first artificial lure that I bought though - it was a Creme pre-rigged purple worm (the kind with the beads and the little propeller on it) - caught lots of bass on that rig - that and a Silver Minnow with an Uncle Josh trailer.
  10. Our local club has an "informal" tournament circuit that we fish on local lakes and is more for bragging rights than anything else. We have been discussing our schedule for next year and I proposed a "back to basics" tournament for one of the events - we only fish from the bank, only one rod/reel, live bait would be an option and we would assign points based not only on size of the fish but for species. You would have thought I was proposing that we fish naked - the response was an overwhelming "NO!!" from the boaters - the non-boaters in the club thought it was a cool idea. Funny how we get locked into our high $ tools and toys - I'm pretty sure we all started this way and grew to where we are now.

  13. The three conservation officers are named Bubba, Ty and Ray - of course they are ;D Seriously, this guy deserves the max if in fact he is found to be guilty.
  14. If you've every watched a crawdad move through the water - they move in quick bursts, sometimes several in a row and then settle down for what can seem like long periods. Now a really aggressive bass may hit the jog on the fall, but (especially in winter) this is less likely to happen because the fish's metabolism has slowed way down. The quick bursts happen close to the bottom so you want to try to imitate that by moving the jig in short hops, but still holding class to the bottom. Hope this makes sense.
  15. Maybe Dallas should work this pay into their offensive scheme: http://rivals.yahoo.com/highschool/blog/prep_rally/post/Video-The-middle-school-trick-play-that-gained-?urn=highschool-283434
  16. http://www.jerrymckinnis.com/ Jerry McKinnis and his group have completed the purchase of BASS - on another site.com it is reported that their first order of business is putting the periods back in the logo (B.A.S.S.) . This may be real interesting.
  17. One of the "features" listed is a 4 blade combination - I believe this is what I have - I plan to do a little more investigation, but that certainly looks like what I'm searching for.
  18. It's the hartbeater double buzz - lots of commotion on the surface and has been a great producer for me this year - plan to place an order in the next few days. Thanks for the help.
  19. We may have a winner!!! I can't seem to find a picture on their website, but I did e-mail them about it. It certainly sounds like what I am looking for. Thanks a bunch.
  20. For you guys that fish this rig, does it work better in the Spring, the Fall or is it an all year technique?
  21. No, it's not a booya although it does look like one, but it has two sets of blades on each side of the head (a total of 4 blades). If I knew how to post pictures I would. For the time being I just have to go with my description. If someone wants to PM me with some instructions on how to post pictures, I will do that. BTW, thanks for the replies.
  22. No, this isn't a new game show - although it might be. I picked up a buzz bait from a local tackle shop's bargain bin early this year and have had a lot of success with it, but don't have a clue who makes it. It has double blades on each side of the head and each set counter rotates. There are no markings on the blades or the head. I would like to pick up a few more, but don't know where to look. Any suggestions?
  23. Usually, depending on the size, lakes don't turnover all at once - I search for clearer water - usually found in shallower areas.
  24. Thanks, that was great
  25. Anybody out there know anything about these? used 'em? Would appreciate some feedback. www.uv-tackle.com
