I will have about 8-900 bucks i could possible spend, don't have to use it all. Question is: I have a 16' aluminum bass boat with a 30 horse motor. I need a new tm, and was wanting some recommendations. Right now I have a 12volt, but i can use a 24 because I have 3 batteries ( 1crank 2 tm). Thoughts?

If you do not have a fly rod you can try using a clear slip bobber on an ultra-light with "two" bobber stops to cast flys. Just put one up for how deep you want it and the other about a foot from the fly so that when you cast the hook eye doesn't get caught up in the slip bobber. Works on the stocker trout they put in here during the winter time. You will need to base your colors on whatever you see them eating.

Is that the only lake you fish, or just one of them? If you have more options it may be a good idea to consider that, because you do not want to be stuck paying for something that you find yourself unsatisfied with. Its all up to you really, just be sure you get something you will be happy with, and not something that makes you wish you wouldn't have got it.

You won't like that 25 hp on a boat like that. You'll be going about 25 mph in ideal conditions. Ive got one like it with a 30, you should look for a better deal like the rest of these people have said. edit. I checked out the website, they estimate for that 25hp 20-22 mph. That would be under ideal conditions also, so don't count on getting that.

Carp are a non-native invasive species from Europe. Prior to the late 1800's there were none to be found in North America. They were introduced as a "need" for food. Now they are everywhere, and they do not make a positive influence on the ecosystems they are in. I understand your upset about it, but there aren't any regulations on carp. Carp can and at times do completely out compete all other species in a water body, and leave a murky green sludge pool filled with nothing but carp. Nobody wants that. Just take a deep breath, and then take up bow fishing or dynamite. You'll be doing us a favor and having some fun in a new way.

Your asking for trouble to go out without lights even if it was legal. Nobody else on the lake will see you, and you don't want that if someone is headed towards you at a high rate of speed. Good luck getting em fixed.

Hi, I'm Dawson from Tyler Texas. I love fishing for Bass and just about any other finned critter. Hope I can meet up with some folks to fish with maybe. Ive been to fork a few times, I live within half an hour of Lake Palestine.

Ive done it on a rainbow trout crank bait. Didn't have a scale with me but one was 22" and the other was 23". No that is not a typo. The first thing I said when I saw them come to the top is nobody will believe me. I got them both in my net, and then took pics on my cell phone. On the way home from the lake someone hit my boat trailer and it got stuck in the shop for a month, on there expense. Before i could get the pics of those two fish off the phone it got wet in my pocket at work and stopped working :'( . I kept it for year hoping it would start working again, but it never did. I know this sounds made up, but its all true. I really caught to 5#+ fish on one bait and had my boat trailer ran into on the way home. One event that I will probably never see again, and another that I don't want to see again.

Gator gar fishing is fun, if you can get bit. Ive caught a few of them on large dead baits. Use something like 1/2 of a 12" gizzard shad or some other large cut bait. You can fish on the bottom or use a slip float. You will also need a wire leader, they have nasty teeth and heavy bite pressure.
