is there a Bass Tackle Depot discount...?
To my knowledge no. They do offer discounts about every month. They just ran a Memorial Day sale a couple of weeks ago, so it may be a couple more weeks before they run another. I normally write down everything I need and wait untill the sale.

Mann's Jelly Worm
I'm the same way. The lighter weights are my preference but I have used heavier bullet weights and had alot of success.

Hi from the boonies
Hahaha, of course. Weird to say that I'm a Big 10 guy now. We'll be mixing it up with the Iowans and Michigan folks instead of the Oklahoma and Texas fans now. GO BUCKS! Welcome and best of luck against your brother

Gander Mountain Trick Sticks vs. Gary Yamamoto
I agree, I purchased the gander mtn brand and I gave them away. They have very little movement. The Senkos are good, but another brand which I was impressed with were the strike king shim e sticks

spinnerbait, crankbait, jig or plastics
plastics of course

After 8 months my bags are ready-Megastrike fishing
Bobby, I think that was a wise choice. I will not buy plastics unless they are made in america. Thank you for realizing that the USA flag is important to some of us. Derek

Favorite Topwater lure
Buzzbait or Norman Weed Walker

Does anybody else find themselves throwing soft plastics more often than hardbaits?
Of course, I throw them 75% of the time

St Croix is WONDERFUL to work with. They will take care of you. you know they have an upgrade program and you could use those rods to upgrade to Legends You wont regret it.

Best Knot for Zara Spook
If its a dear to your heart lure I would agree. I normally just tie the loop knot on mine because my top waters are $5.00 lures and if I lose one its not a big deal. I can say I have never had my line break at the knot though, and never from a fish. Every line break was from a snag, and I simply troll over and pry my lure off of the snag since its a top water. Has anyone has the knot break from a fish?

Would like to hear everyones opinions on Shakespeare products
They have there place. I keep a few for other people to use, or if I'm fishing a small creek up the river and put my canoe in. I would not want to take one of my St. Croix rods to get beat up, so I throw in the ugly stick. If thats all you can afford or are just a couple outings a month fisherman by all means, I would suggest the Ugly Stick Lite.

Mann's Jelly Worm
I have always T-Rigged mine and had success. I love the Jelly Worm.

Strike King Rage Tails are the STUFF!
That's it, I'm going to purchase a few bags this weekend as I have heard nothing but greatness out of these. I personally HATE strike king, so thats the reason I havent purchased thus far, but Big-O is just always so helpful and kind, and I found out that the Rage plastics are made in the USA (that's important to me as I only buy American when I can) so I'm ditching the Zoom baits this weekend and giving the Rage a try ^^. Glad you had luck with them, it seems everyone is

Give me your input regarding new setups
The St. Croix Avid series is wonderful for the price. If you are going to purchase from Tackle Warehouse I would suggest waiting a couple of weeks as I have a feeling they will run a 15% off sale at some point. I have several St Croix Legends and several Avids, and for the money you can not beat the Avid (they also have a lifetime warranty)

New To Fly Fishing NEED HELP!!!
I would agree - avoid the combo packs as it is low quality and you will not enjoy it. St Croix was having a closeout last year and I bought a nice fly rod and love it. We go on a trout fishing trip every year, fly fishing takes some time learning, but it feels great landing a fish on a fly rod.
