  1. Guys, My wife has planned a vacation to Florida in the middle of April. It will be in the Sarasota area. I didn't know if anyone near there or lake occachobee would want a fishing partner for the day. I will have my own rods and gear. Just looking to fish a lake I have always wanted to fish. If this would be a possibility please pm me. It will be just myself.
  2. does anyone have any input on the vanndalizer crankbaits, i saw that they compared the 124 model to a bandit 200 has anyone fished these if so how is there quality. Just wanting some input before i purchase, i use bandit 200's quite often were i fish and if these are close to the same movements and depth i will paint them and fish them thanks ben
  3. curious if anyone out there has there custom painted lures at any local stores for sale, and how the stores accepted the idea and how the customers responded to a custom painted bait. and will i have any probs painting a factory lure and selling it, will the companies give you any hassle thanks ben

  5. thats what i was curious about so i was wondering what clears or topcoats others were useing so it doesnt smell thanks for the reply though and has anyone painted with automotive paint and then baked the lure for a while to help it cure thanks

  7. hey everyone i just registered with the site and really like the layout and the large amount of info one can get from this site. I started bass fishing last spring with a friend and it has shot up from there. it has became one of the most enjoyable hobbies i have, I even fished two tournements with the guy that got me started. I am a Mechanic in Kalona, iowa and use to be a auto body technician So of course i have this fasination with painting things so i hope that i can get all the info i am looking for to start painting lures. I have more that enough automotive paint and clears but i am trying to find out from others on here if that would work or not others hobbies are street rods, i have a 1963 Nova and a 1988 Monte carlo ss billiards, collecting cues and playing my wife and soon to be first child, (hopefully a son) but that doesnt matter to much I fish alot at the Coralville resorvour, lake macbride and others if anyoen is in the area send me a pm thanks ben
  8. i have just started fishing seriously and i would like to upgrade my reels and i have been looking at the quantum tours from last year that are on sale for 100 to 120 bucks. just want to make sure that they are decent reels and if anyone has input please let me know thanks ben

  12. i am new to the site, and have enjoyed reading alot of the posts. I am a automotive painter and i do alot of airbrushing and since i have switched to being a mechanic i have hundreds of pints of paint and clear coats. WOuld i be able to use these paints to paint my lures i just want to make sure that it will not put of an odor. i am not familiar with what other lure painters use i just figured i have so much of this that i would liketo use it and all me clear coat is 3 part clears with hardeners please help thanks ben
