  1. I used 3m restorer and wax. It worked wonders. You can check the thread out here: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/96810-oxioxydmy-boat-was-cloudy/?hl=%2Bima+%2Bbass+%2Bninja#entry1070283
  2. Maybe I'm missing something but a revo premier I would think is already a quality reel. And where did the balancing come from? To the OP maybe you got a dud? I would think it should be smooth with no catches. Also how does the distance compare to other spinners you have?
  3. X2 on this. H20 is some good stuff!!
  4. They had some big swim baits and I think some were deps but I can't be sure it was that particular one. Seem like they ran $80-90 No problem, sounds like you are going to get some good stuff!
  5. No Maico I don't recall seeing any that looked like those. I could have walked by them though because I wasn't looking at anything inparticular. The zcrank and siglett were 1040y ($11) they were on sale The boil trigger and some others I couldn't post were 1780y ($20) It seems like they pretty much run hand and hand with what you see in the US. But just like home if you are willing to spend some time and look good deals can be had. I saw an revo LTX for ($190). Some scorpions for $120. There was a used one like hooked on bass avatar that was $140 and the shimano I basically stole. Yea the wings are remarkably solid. I was hesitant at first because of that but when I got it home and started messing with it I can see that they should hold up really well.
  6. Went to the tackle store again here in Japan. This time however i came home with a little more stuff.
  7. I have casted a lure easily 100 yards, unfortunately after about 3 of those yards it was longer attached to my line.
  8. What part of the country are you in? I was in landscaping for 9 years. In the south centipede is the most maintenance free grass there is. However being that it doesn't like a lot of fertilization or chemicals it's also the hardest to fix if you ever encounter a problem.
  9. I've had good success with the ez flouro by spider wire from Walmart. A friend had bad experiences with vanish so that was enough to get me away.
  10. Maybe they listened to the complaints of the fist generation snapping problems and made the new ones thicker and more durable. Just a theory.
  11. I got mine but my wife refuses to open the box while I am away :-(
  12. Ok i think i got it now. Here are some more pics
  13. I didn't buy to much on this trip. Just a spinnerbait and a top water called the bolt trigger by jack all. I have lots more pics but they wouldn't upload so I will try again tonight. We have another trip plan this coming weekend to either the same place or a different one with one of our Japanese friends so we will see how light the wallet is after that.
  14. I am in Japan for work and had a chance this weekend to go to a tackle shop that is near by. Come to find out it is one of the bigger ones in the area. It was interesting to walk around a look at all the different lures and other items available. These things sure are expensive though. Prices are on the pics and right now I think its about 90yen / $1. BTW over here daiwa rules the roost ...sorry shimano fans. Any way here's some pics.
  15. Why not just point him to bass resource and he can learn all he needs to know about bass fishing. Plus we gain a new member. It's a win win situation.
  16. It's a shame to hear that a company that had a great start completely left its fan base empty handed. They have a great feel and a cool look to get consumers interested. Unfortunatly it seems the quality is a bust and so is the customer service. Could have been one of the best rod company's around.
  17. That is correct. I got into a deep discussion about this with te sporting goods manger at our local Walmart. Online had kvd cranking rods at $82 and when I asked the manager if he was gonna match it that is what he told me. We "discussed" it for about 10 min. I was hoping for some great insight as to why they won't match their on prices but the best he could come with is it is shipped direct from the factory saving cost. Total bs cause I can have it shipped to the store for free.
  18. Spin cast have one advantage over all other reels... Ease of use. That's it . You can cast farther and more accurately with a spinning reels or a baitcaster if you are willing to spend the time to learn them. The right equipment in the hands of an experienced angler is a deadly thing. If you are looking to just have fun and be on the water then spin casters are great and absolutely nothing wrong with using them. But if you want to improve as a angler , you need to learn to use the better designed equipment. You will not see any angler, regardless of talent , win any tournament or improve his skills if he is not willing to learn or use the better designed equipment. I don't care how good KVD is , he cannot win on the elites series with a spin cast reel and a flasher , riding around in a trihull. . It's all about what you want from the sport.
  19. Pflueger president bait casting PQ spinning
  20. I think I still have it on DVR. I will look tonight and post the highlights if it is allowed.
  21. On the bass master show Rojas was pretty brutal in his comments of Alton. He stated that Alton had not fished there before but Alton is saying he fished there all 4 days. Alton beat Rojas to the spot and rojas felt that Alton should not be there because Rojas was in the lead. My take is if Alton had been fishing there the Rojas needs to quit crying and man up. If Alton had not been fishing there and moved in on the last day then he should apologize to Rojas. Regardless if either situation I don't think Rojas bashing Alton and calling him names on tv was a very professional.
  22. Awesome news bud!!! Glad they finally got it worked out.
  23. No I haven't caught a fish on it yet but in all honesty I haven't fished allot either. Since I got a new job I have only been out a handful of times. I do try it every time I go out but after a few minutes I try something different. I still think its a great alternative to the regular 5 arm version if you don't like chunking big heavy baits. I will keep on tryin with this little thing and hopefully one day I will get a bite.
  24. Seems that Academy has a new house brand reel out called the mystic. I'm a big fan of their ethos rods, spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Seems like their version of the carbonlite. May have to go by and check these out. Anybody have a chance to look or fish them yet?
  25. I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the Exo from quantum. It's whole sellin point is being light weight.
