  1. :laugh5: Thats funny right there!!!Seriously though , good right up and thanks for taking the time to post your results on here. I'm not gonna try and shoot holes in your review but i do disagree with some of the points made. Yo-zuri is some good stuff and i used it for years and never had a problem, so the line is good for what it is. One thing i get confused about is why everyone seems to compare it to Flouro line? Its like comparing Apples and oranges to me. A better comparison would be to mono seeing as how it has more of the characteristics of mono. Just IMHO
  2. After i feel the initial bite i will add pressure by lifting the rod slightly . if i feel resistance then i set the hook. this method gives me confidence that the fish has the bait and i should be able to get a good hook set. If i ever see the line move away i set the hook immediately. If i never feel the initial bite and feel pressure or resistance when working the bait, i set the hook.
  3. If you have an academy close this would suit your purpose very well http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_10051_448752_-1?N=97010086+4294967142+933739033&inv=online I have the regular lp and it's a great reel.
  4. I went lake fork. I want a double digit fish and that is probably my best chance.
  5. I use 15 and 10# regularly and with some kvd l&l ii love it. It does seem a bit stiffer than other flouri I've used but thats one of the reasons I like it.
  6. Same set up I use. Columbia shirt with Columbia full brimmed hat.
  7. Most of my stuff is mix and match, just curious to see what everyone else has.
  8. That's a bold statement considering you were not at the scene. Only 3 people know EXACTLY what happened and the rest of us just speculate on what we see. How can you advocate denying people their rights based on a video? How do you know that those 2 individuals have not been on that body of water for 60 years with no incident, and now you say they should be kicked off because they weren't paying attention and had a accident where there was no physical harm? Bold statement my man, bold statement..... The fact is no one was hurt at all. People assume the risk of any task whether it be drive a car, be on the lake or walk alone in a dark alley when they are in a public place. You know every time you hop in your car,or boat something CAN happen that is out of your control. Its how you handle that situation that defines you as a person. Violent actions actions bring violent consequences. No matter how bad you think you are, there is always someone badder, and regardless of if they are at fault ,no one wants to hear the outburst or physical consequences from the other person. If thats the case they usually just bring actions of their own. I do not condone the actions of the 2 men and i agree they should have been paying more attention to what they were doing. What i disagree with is the fact that people state that the best cause of action in those situations is a violent outburst.Luckily no harm was done and no kids, but even if it there was it would be the responsibility of law enforcement to bring the consequences, not the individual. There's a time, place and reason to fight but this ain't one of them. I'm done ranting on this subject, I'm going back to talking about something a little more entertaining , like fishing
  9. No it does not. It has more of the mono charicteristics. It will be fine for topwaters. I used it for years before switching to braid
  10. You woulda went to the parking lot with 2 80 year old senior citizens....you go wid yo bad self .....seriously though i have read this post from the start and seen allot of i would not been as nice and "he woulda needed dental work" and so on, before we found out the 2 gentlemen were seniors. First the guy is out numbered. Are you really gonna start spouting off at the mouth when its 2 against 1? All that will probably get you is an a** kickin and appointment at the emergency room along with a broken boat. The fact is you can't rely on most people to be civil these days. How many people here carry guns with them? How do you know that the person you are about to be belligerent with does not have one too? Is it worth being shot or having criminal charges and possibly jail time because you wanted to tell someone what you thought? The kayaker handled the situation the way it should have been. Sure he was visibly upset and had a right to be so, but he didn't let his emotions interfere with the way he handled the situation. Stuff like this escalates extremely rapidly when people let their emotions take over and then you hear about the results on the 6 o'clock news. Point is keep cool, accidents happen. And if someone is intentionally being a butt then review the situation and figure out the best plan of action before your mouth starts writing checks your butt can't cash.
  11. Electrical work slow these days huh?...... J/k. Funny stuff
  12. Ahh gotcha. That's a good reason. . Seriously though I would personally shoot for a name brand reel was sold in different stores like a revo or citica or kinetic. Etc. While I'm not against store brand reels ( quite the opposite actuall cause I own many bps pq's) I have found the " made exclusively for D's " reels subpar. What it really says to me is " we're gonna cut some coners so we can sell it to D's cheap and they can tack on their overhead cost" so I would stay away from the escalade or pinnacle. Shoot for the tech spec if you're set on those 2.
  13. Never heard of it but Sounds Gimmicky to me. You can determine that yourself with a little knowledge gained by reading articles on water clarity.
  14. Might i inquire why you have settled on only those 2? There are better deals to be had but not sure if you got a gift card or something from D's which is why you are set on buying from there. But From those 2 choices..The F&S baitcaster. Why? Aluminum Frame.
  15. i had an older escalade the one with a graphite frame. Not the new blue ones. Unfortunately it was junk. Anti reverse bearing went out within a year and it never performed as well as my other bait casters. I eventually just stripped all the parts and junked it.
  16. I agree just picked up 3 asaros. I have Pqs as well and they are fine performers also. I have to say that with initial use i like the asaro better. Even thought he PQs have some better asthetical components (swept handle, clicking drag star) that i enjoy i think the aluminum side plate of the asaro gives me better piece of mind. Just tryin to figure out how i can go buy the remaining 6 that my Academy had in stock
  17. Working in the landscape industry in sunny SC i can tell you that wearing long sleeves makes a difference. It traps sweat and keeps you cooler and offers better protection from the sun. I routinely wear a long sleeve Columbia shirt while fishing
  18. Except for their price tag
  19. I keep it simple. I only use 4 line types Cranking: 15# vicious flouro for shallow- medium and 10# vicious flouro for deep crankin Top water (all) 50# braid Spinnerbaits,Jigs ,t rigged worms, swimbaits, and carolina rig main line- 15# vicious flouro. Spinning rods Finnese presentation 30# braid with #10 flouro leader. Keeps it simple and allows me to buy in bulk to save money.
  20. Your best bet is to find a good discount one such as this http://www.academy.c...10051_448750_-1 or you could check the flea market and get a nice used one such as this http://www.bassresou...w-profile-reel/
  21. That is a great link and good post!!! Thanks!
  22. Yep probably to many to remember. The last time was a strike kings 6xd brand spanking new never been thrown and I had switched the hooks for some Grammys I had. Threw it out got it hung in a bush very first cast and lucky me left my plug knocker at home.
  23. I use the h2o Cranks allot. Especially the square bills. I love em. I have stopped buying all other brands unless the are in clearance or at a ridiculous price. The hooks are not the best i compare them to stike kings stock hooks some have straightened on me but I usually change them out after a couple of months fishing. I have found that once I switch the hooks out to some mustad kvd trebles the crankbaits are as good as any on the market. Also as I side note some top finishers at the recent bassmaster central open placed using h2o cranks
