  1. I use spooks, sammies, and chug bugs just about throughout the year. I always have one tied up and anytime I see surface action I'll throw it
  2. fast link snap/clip? http://wholesale.breakaway-tackle.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=623
  3. Yes and they work!...caught this one with a jika rigged fluke.. Deadly for bass feeding on schooling bait fish. It gives a nice free flowing vertical movement when worked like a jig,
  4. Bad habit earlier in life was smoking. Now I've moved on to sweets As far as bad traits the fact that my hairline is in full retreat of my face comes from my mother side.
  5. $30. Everything I wanted was cheaper from local stores ( Walmart , academy, etc) than the stuff on sale at BPS. I was pretty disappointed. The biggest value that I saw were the bps line of reels but it wasn't one of the things I needed.
  6. Is that not the same as clicking the "use mobil version" at the bottom? That what I use it works great
  7. All I got for the quiz was a decal a cheapo poster a window sticker and a Pack (of 5 hooks) 3/0. Not complaining hey it's free but no hat or pro pack of 15 hooks
  8. The absolute best way to learn worm or jig fishing is to find a body of water ( in my case a 1 acre pond) that has lots of bass that will eat pretty much anything. the reason this works so good is that it lets you feel the bite in regular fashion and also builds up confidence in the technique. Feeling the bite and learning how to tell when a fish has your lure and when its just a log or tree will greatly improve your technique. First start with a heavy weight , its easier to feel what the lure is doing, once you build some confidence you can switch to lighter weights. The most important thing is feel when it comes to this type of fishing.
  9. This looks like it is gonna turn into a religion vs evolution thread......But 3rd day sounds bout right to me.
  10. As mentioned the lipless crank baits are top notch also will give props to the eeratic shad jerk baits
  11. That guy should have stupid tattooed backwards in his forehead.
  12. Good starter setup. Moving forward and as you get more hooked you will see that there are better options for the same amount of money. But both rod and reel will serve you well. I have had a blackmax for 4 years and a conolon rod for about 2. Although they have been resigned to back up duty they still work perfectly well
  13. Yea that's a great app. It's amazing how you can fish a body if water for a long time and never realize the things you are missing until you have this app.
  14. Ribbon tail Bait fish (fluke) Craw Finesse
  15. Tierra rods are nice and you can't bet that price. I have 2 tierra rods and they both perform very well. Having said that i also will endorse the H2O ethos rod from academy (59.99) and the abu garcia vendetta( 79.99) line of rods. All within your budget range.
  16. If you have allot of patience, the right tools, and a degree from Harvard you could try this:
  17. 6'9" Medium Heavy fast action rod are perfect for spinner baits and chatterbaits
  18. I imagine you fish it the same as a regular senko. the spinner is only there for added flash in murky water conditions to help the bass hone in on the bait
  19. Topwater baits work well for a pond i fish. Try some pop R's and zara spooks to call the big girls up. Also i have seen a pond yet that didn't have frogs in it so i would give those a try also.
  20. I keep them in original packages and then sort them by style (senko, finesse worms, flukes, etc..) in these containers and just mark them with a sharpie. Has made a world of difference storage wise in my boat. Also there's the added benefit that i have to empty the containers before i use them.
  21. Prayers sent your way and stay strong brother!
  22. What finish has worked best as far as corrosion resistance on hooks? I prefer the black nickel look but it seems that the red hook baits i have do not corrode nearly as much as the others. And forget about a bronze finish i swear those things get rust on them from the moment i first cast them out to the time i reel it back in. And anybody got any tips on keeping rust off of the hooks. Someone told me to spray lightly spray the plano box i store them in with wd-40 and let it dry before i put the baits back in. But i am not sure if this is just an old fishermans tale or if it actually works.
  23. I like the oval split rings better simply because its easier to tie the line to it without getting caught in the split part. I have not tried them with the hooks simply cause i like the hook as close to the bait as possible.
