  1. Today off the 2nd voyage on the yak; A orange suspended crankbait fished reeeel slow , got a decent lil LMB,, and a wacky rigged garlic glow centipede looking thing from cabelas got a nice pickerel, it was just like using a 3' senko..all in all slow.saw a school of crappie on top doing some ritual but they cared little of my offerings which were a small spinner w/ grub tail, and small crank.. Buona Pasqua to all
  2. 3 pickerel, 1 small LMB, caught on live shiners yesterday.. Sunnies were out hitting earthworms too... special day with my 5 1/2 yr old, good times, spring is here. In the a.m. I went to Poricy Park in red bank/middletown on my maiden voyage on 1st kayak. Zero life ,no activity at all , no bait fish or swirls or anything, except one sunny floating belly up..
  3. I finally got my dream kayak, i was wondering if anyone had any information on Shadow lake in red bank or can you advise on any other small local ponds that are accesible by yak?.. thanks in advance for any advice
  4. Great feedback, advice, suggestions etc. All are being considered. My mistake is using the word neighbor wrongly . She said "It is so nice to meet a neighbor" (at that point I thought it was a yes) but .....They live across a main road and down a few properties, plus the house and pond are set way back out of sight. I wish I saw them regularly while I doing yardwork etc.. then we would be friends for sure.. Thanks Guys if I get the nerve up to approach again I will surely relay it here..
  5. I have to agree with that JMHO as well. There are some very decent deals out there.. Maybe you settle for a pair that doesnt look that great on your face but you can see very well with... We dont fish to hook up with females right? So who cares if they dont look good. Just make sure they are quality lenses..JMHO
  6. I have a pair of Costa Del Mar's that are excellent on both salt n fresh water. I bought them online @ sierra trading post. I do believe they have the best prices due to limited stock and closeouts; link: http://www.sierratradingpost.com/search/SearchResults.aspx?allwords=sunglasses&searchdescriptions=True&page=2
  7. I finally got my nerve up to ask a 'neighbor' if they allow people to fish there little paradise. I shaved, put on a nice shirt and clean jeans, dressed my 5 1/2 yr old son up in a cute cabelas outfit. After a very nice 15 minute conversation with the owners wife, she asked for my name and #. She said I will have to talk to hubby and he will call you. That was last saturday so no phone call I have to assume no fishing at that pond. I told her you would never know I am here etc.. Do I try one more time and show up with a case of beer as a offering ? I dont want to haunt there house,I will have to accept it as at least I tried..
  8. Holmdel park ..exit 114 off GSP ,for small bass, trout and sunnies, Very nice park ,decent fishing ,little overfished and redundant.. Turkey Swamp park in monmouth County, I tried to paste link here but got waffle blocked
  9. 2 hours of casting, one crappie caught by my 5 yr old .. 2009 scoreboard : 5 yr old son 1 crappie Daddy: zero
  10. I used the guide service in Disney ,the one that picks you up at the grand floridian, my 5 year old son and I crushed them on shiners that day ,it was a special day.
  11. Great picture ,good for you !!
  12. Location is Palm Coast/Flagler beach, its 30 minutes north of Daytona I believe. My cousin lives on a canal, not wide not deep, lots of baitfish. I 'casted' last year there and caught 1 small bass 1 crappie out of 200 casts using everything in the box. Water doesnt move much, stained,no structure I see.. Any advice as far as presentation etc... I plan on trying shiners as well this time.. Also anyone know a pond or lake in the area that is fishable from shore..thanks for any helpful info
  13. I taped it last time, I urge you all to tape or watch this program. It took my cabin fever to defcon 5,I have to go fishing ASAP after watching this show. Enjoy
  14. "Actually, the dumbest thing I ever bought was a scale. All my fish got smaller after that. " HAHAHAHHAHA go to your nearest volcano and throw that scale in there and sacrifice it ..
