  1. I'm shocked that you even know how to hold up a fish bigger than 15oz. Your arm musta been shaking ;D Thats a good chunk burley.
  2. The McStick is designed to get down a little bit deeper than a standard X-Rap and LC Pointer unless you buy the deep diving models. The great thing about the McStick is that you can get it down deep without any resistance because of how Spro designed the lip of the bait. It's kinda hard to describe the action. X-Raps have an extremely exaggerated movement, hence the name, and Pointers roll side to side better. The McStick is kind of right in between. I've caught a good number of fish on it this winter just twitchin and pausing it, but my BFL roommate has been SLAYING them just reeling it in slowly like a Red Fin.

Hey Avid, glad to see your doing a bit better and have it under control. Here's another thing that it could possibly be. About 3 years ago, my mom began having huge vertigo attacks at home and work that would put her on her butt. At first I thought it was her trying to be funny at home, but then when it happened at work and out in public, I realized that it wasn't a joke. After months and months of doctors trying to figure it out, my dad replaced some part of the wall in the master bedroom, and it turned out that we had a water leak and there was mold growing in there. The type of mold it was can cause vertigo according to the DR's. So, don't know if you have had any exposure to mold recently, but that's what gave it to my mom. Hope you get better man!
  4. I won't be arriving until late Monday night. I will be there Tuesday and Wednesday. Anybody have an open seat for Tuesday?
  5. Hey 22, I don't know much about Allatoona, but I will be moving to Kennesaw State University in August and I plan on fishing the lake a lot and learning it. Your more then welcome to join me once I get up there. Shoot me a pm and we can swap contact #'s and try to set something up. Also, send Triton Mike Bucca a PM or email. He is a guide out there and he can point you in the right direction and if you book a trip with him, his prices are real fair and he is the best on the lake. Good luck dude
  6. 1. Jury deliberations for my dad's trial back in 05'. Ended up with a guilty, but waiting 10 hours for the answer was even worse than when they said guilty. He has been in ever since. 2. The first time I was allowed to hug my dad in a visit which was when I turned 18. 3. Finding out that my father figure/life long friend/fishing mentor had terminal cancer. 4. Being with Mr. Yero, on his last day, and the moments right up until he took his last breath before he died after an extremely brave and hard fought battle against the cancer. He lived 3 years longer than he was supposed to, and I thank god everyday for allowing him to have that extra time.
  7. Yo, mattfly, I don't know if the end of your last post was pointed at me from what I said earlier, but if it was, then know that I was being sarcastic. I can catch fish of other things than brushpiles and I don't have others pointing me to spots.
  8. WTG dude! I will be going to Kennesaw State University which is only a few minutes away. The friend who I am rooming with went to Southern Poly this year but is transferring to KSU. There are some great electric only lakes around there that I will be fishing, and I always have an empty seat. Hope to see you on the water soon and congrats again on getting in.
  9. 4bizz - ROFLMAO....were you talking about Dave or the fish? Blitzkrieg
  10. The biggest thing that has saved me money is eating at home every day. If I have to eat fastfood, I get dollar menu items and ice water which is free. Also, to save money on gas, I try to keep my RPMs at under 2k when accelerating with the boat on the back. This really has helped me mileage and makes taking trips to the lake easier on the wallet. Also, when you go out fishing for a day, pack your lunch. Buying a loaf of bread, deli meat and cheese, and a 12 pack of coke is like the same price as stopping for snacks at the gas station but you get WAY more meals out of it.
  11. It's really hard to explain in words how to skip. If I made a video and put it on here, do you think it would help some of you? If it's something someone would watch, I'l take a few minutes to make one.
  12. Your right. I guess I do need to learn about how to read maps and locate fish rather than just relying on brushpiles. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have a bunch of people pointing me in the right direction or planting brush to make a spot....I would probably zero every time
  13. Eddie - ROFL!!! Donbeatya - Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and if you think that dropping brush is wrong, then don't do it. I know I have only dropped a few PVC piles in the last few years and it's on a lake we hit once a year. I catch fish off of them, but I don't rely on them. I basically added them to help create a "sweetspot" on a point. Now let me ask you this....do you fish brushpiles that you find? How do you know they aren't planted by someone else. Is it ok to drop piles, but not fish them? Is it ok to fish them as long as someone else dropped them?
  14. LOL. Are you serious dude? Just because you have a honey hole doesn't mean you can catch them. How many times in all your hours of "practice" do you know the fish are there, but you just aren't good enough to get them to bite. Judging by your response to this, I bet it happens quite a bit. And if you think about it, Vandam's fishing style doesn't match up well with fishing submerged brushpiles nor does he have the time to drop them because he is always traveling.
  15. x2 on what CJ said. Go make your own hotspot and whip the locals. I don't think it's unsportsmanlike to fish them, especially if they have them planted in different areas. If the same guy fishes the same spot everytime, I probably wouldn't fish it.
  16. I have never used the Flash Minnow, but I do know that Randall, a member here and full time guide, loves it. He fishes it like Primus, over the grass flats.
  17. A 1/4oz Spot Remover with a green pumpkin finesse worm dipped in chartreuse JJ's Magic will catch fish anywhere, anytime.
  18. I'm really not a big time cranker so I don't know if this is accurate, but I have heard that bass in really clear water will smack a completely clear crankbait. Like I said, I've never personally caught fish this way but I know a few that have killed them with it.
  19. They are dead serious. They are a rare breed known as ******. They also are called "New jersey Douchbags." They get spray-on tans until they turn orange, gel up their hair, attempt to act tough, and try to have a cool accent. They specialize in being hated by all and attracting the ugliest of women.
  20. Your probably right, but I bet orange skin, spiked up hair, and an extra tight shirt will
  21. ROFLMAO! It looks like Tin when he sees a spider.
  22. Way to smack em dude! Glad to hear the ice is gone!
  23. The Aruku Shad is a great bait! It's the most weedless lipless crankbait that I have found and the finishes are perfect. They come with Gamakatsu trebles and run true at any speed.
  24. Ain't hurtin' my feelings none... Yo Burley, did you find that craw in the stomach? That is awesome!
  25. This is something that a few of us on the board kinda keep as a secret. It was posted a long time ago and it works. It's cheap and it's fun. Try it out.... http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1174101259/12#12 The reason the pointer is so effective imo, is that it rolls better than other brands when you twitch it. It also sits more realistically on the pause. When you do those modifications exactly like is says in that post, it will work JUST like one and you will slam the fish on it. Plus, you have to lose like 7 or 8 until it reaches the value of an L.C.
