Looking For Opinions On St. Croix Triumph
I have a 7' med heavy casting that I used pretty hard this year. Everything has held up well, fit and finish wise, no chipping or anything. I belive it's the same blank as the mojo's, but I might be wrong. Fished great, and I used everything from jigs to buzzbaits on it. I think you will be pleased if you do get the UL. Jim

Yay Or Nay--Slightly Used St. Croix Mojo Bass Casting Rod
I would buy it, I have a triumph, same blank as a mojo, but a full handle. When in doubt, you can never have too many rods! Jim

Newby To Raystown Lake
we have being catching them in the weeds, rage baits, buzzbaits and plastics. we fish the upper end of the lake, mile marker 19-25 usually. I would look for water in the 8-15 foot range with weeds. they are laying over on top now, so they are hard to fish, but thats where we have been finding them. If you have any questions shoot me a pm. Jim

Central Pa. Lake Updates-June
hey guys 1 Me and a friend hit petersburg today. We fished in the lake and below the spillway. We got some bass, biggest in the lake was a 15" largemouth. Most were small, 8"-11" I think we got 7 largemouth and 4 or 5 smallies, plus some perch and a trout! Water temps were between 65 and 64 degess in the lake, and 67 below the spillway. Got three nice smallies from below the dam, and a few dinks. We broke in my buddies new boat right that was sure! My dad and I hit Raystown wednesday. Launched out of shy beaver, fished from 19 to 22. Water clarity was about 3 feet or so. weeds were the key again, but action was a little slower. I caught three, two legal fish and a dink. Lost two and had two miss a buzzbait. My dad caught two, both on buzzbaits. water temp was 80 back in shy beaver and 77-78 on the main lake. good luck guys! Jim

Central Pa. Lake Updates-June
I hit raystown on the 1st. Fished out of shy beaver, ran down the lake, mostly between 19 and 20. I caught 8 and my dad managed 3. We each lost a few too. Fished alot of steep rock, most fish came out of 4-10 feet. I caught most of mine on an original shad rap. two on a red eye shad, and one on a spinnerbait. Dad caught his on a shad rap and a chatterbait. Water was pretty decent, up a fair bit and had some color for sure. Not much in the way of floating junk however. Biggest was just under 19" and 3.5 lbs. Most were between 13" and 16". They all seemed spawned out. good luck guys! Jim

Lip Less Cranks
Everytime. I always have one tied on. I have caught bass, catfish, walleye, and striper just this year on one. I like to pull them across steep ledges and just keeping them moving slow. I also tick the outside weed edges, or bang them against wood. My go to bait for sure. Jim

Chatterbait Fishing
I always thought chatterbaits were maybe a little bit of a gimmick, but this past saturday my dad hammered them on one. Opened my eyes for sure! As far as color, I usually say deeper = darker. Jim

Am I the only angler here who uses ONLY spinning gear?
you can get some pretty heavy duty spinning gear, more than capable of pulling fish out of cover. If you really pound thick cover, a baitcaster is the way to go though. Jim

upper and lower end of lake
MF has it right, I always remember upper end, upstream; lower end, down stream. Jim

Whats with the big craze about Beaver Style Baits?
I use them as jig trailers all the time, they are great if you want your jig to fall slower. I will have to try them texas rigged. Sounds like I might be missing out! thanks!! Jim

hollow belly hooks
This is a basic question, but what size hooks should I use for a 4-5 inch swimbaits? EWG? Thanks! Jim

Fireline Crystal
I never tried the crystal, but I also had problems with fireline digging on a spinning reel. I will have to give the spider wire a go. Jim

When nothing will work what lure do you use?
Another vote for lipless cranks. I also throw a shad rap, smallest size, or the original. Third on my list is a small plastic, slider worm, or a fluke on a light (1/8 or 1/4 oz.) head. Jim
