  7. i have recently got into hollow body frogs and decided i need a better setup since its a style of fishing i really like. i am trying to decide between three curados. the 200e7 in 5.0.1 or 7.0.1 or the 300 in 6.2.1 ive heard differences in opinion of speed vs power most of the places i fish have that prickly grass beds and floating string grass and tulies so i may be pulling a fish along with alot of grass. the rick clunn 701 i have now ain't cuttin it. the reel will be going on a Powell 735 mh thanks for your opinions
  8. i have the 7ft mag senko rod i love it very nice rods
  9. be careful with those stretchy suckers in heat if ya leave em stored where it gets to hot they will melt together into a stretchy lil bouncy ball ;D
  10. 2006 minn kota maxxum 80. i was out and my motor started making a knocking noise like im hitting a tullie but there's nothing there .then my motor quites. when i push the pedal it clicks and the lite lites up but no go i tapped the housing and it kicks back. in it seems to knock more at 40 and below at higher speeds it will knock a bit then balance out i stopped took off the prop and it knocks without the prop so its not the prop. then i pulled the houseing and all the connections are fine it seems to kick back on whenever i slap the houseing weird the connections are fine im stumped anyone got an idea ?
  11. anybody got one how do you like it i need a frog rod ive heard these are nice is their medium heavy actually mh or is it stiff like a broom stick? there's none in town so im gathering info on the net thanks for any opinions i already have a heavy rod i would like a mh for a lil more flex
  12. often times if it is a true miss throw back and they'll hit it. may take a couple casts but they usually don't bail. if it is a miss/spit i have a second pole with a different bait and usually throw that and catch them most of the time. like if im fishing a senko on pole 1 i have a fluke on backup pole 2 or a small swim bait like a shadelicious i have caught many fish on backup pole 2
  13. if your talking to me my boat carries the boxes not me just put em in the boat and go i don't see paying for a bag when i can buy a tub for 6 and box's for a buck one box goes in the back of the boat and my rods tips rest on it my boxes go up on the deck under my seat stand i have a very unique setup compared to most

  15. ok so im trying to get my pops into bassin and would like to set him up a spin cast outfit. anyway i could have sworn i watched a tv show awhile back where a zebco spokesman was on talking about there new reel designed to use braid. i cant for the life of me find it anyone know what reel that is or am i trippen
  16. i caught a good 2 1/2 pounder the other day in like four inches of water. stopped for the mutts to play and casted a shadelicious up there playing around and when reeling back i see this water roll with fin sticking out jaws style chase and crush it that was cool as hell
  17. i have a 7'11" heavy mojo pole i got it for flipping but some places i dont flip and was wondering if its ok to use it for swim baits i don't throw giants like the kong but 4-5 inch hard baits what do you guys think ?
  18. i have a spot i fish where on some occasion boils will pop off and and the stripers go nuts so im putting together a pole just for them i have caught them best throwing 4 inch shadalicious or fat head jrs into the boils but they only last about one fish and take to long to re rig before they move im trying to find a hard bait with the same action any ideas???
  19. Why spend money when you don't have to? How many times have you found that you can do this before the worms just become completely unusable? all depends how bad the tear is or if its got chunks missing
  20. one thing to remember put the wires on the right way went out to the lake and some how i had crossed the wire and my steering was backward lol to much sun ;D
  21. FIRST OFF BE CAREFUL!!!!i didn't wanna order any glue but figured since plastics are made with heat the best way to repair em is with heat. first get yourself a cheap 5 dollar soldering iron from harbor freight clean all the sand etc off the sinkos find the tares its easiest to have the iron held down and hold the worm. you have to do it kinda fast. after one you ll get the hang of it. run the tear over the iron then push together and hold for a second then put the worm down and use the iron to smooth out the plastic just barely touching the worm to much and it will stick to the table when ya roll it. you should set up a small fan blowing away from you to blow away any smoke from plastic stuck on the iron a small brass brush cleans the iron easy took me 5 minuets and saved 8 bucks sorry bout the pics camera problems lol
  22. thanks for the tips guys took the head cover off and one of the wires came off the drum guess i had the tension to low hooked it back up and its good i took some pics of the process ill post them up later in case anyone else ever has the same problem ;D
  23. i was out on the water to day stopped at a sandbar and when i went to leave my trolling motor pedal just flops so i get home take the bottom off (minn kota maxxum 80 ) to see if it came off the pulley and that's fine its just slack so i try moving the tm and one side has tension but the other just slack wondering if it came lose in the head im hoping i can fix it myself since i would have to ship to the nearest repair center any help would be greatly appreciated
  24. maybe i got a bad spool i just switched back to power pro from fire line the power pro casts better to me. ive had more wind knots with fireline than any braid the fire line dug just as much as any other line even after a small 1 pound fish the line would dig and try to back cast
