  3. i was told something before about the barometric pressure has an affect and days where bubbles form and stay on top for longer in your trail are good days for buzz baits
  4. well i went down to wally world today and checked the everstarts only have a 12 month warranty and the maxxs have an 18 month one is 62 and the other is 79 so i guess its worth the extra 17 bucks for six months longer warranty thanks for all the help

  7. well im not actually sure the only scale i had on board bottomed out at 12 lbs i have caught this same fish two other times over the years last time was about 2 years ago she was 10 then ive been out after her again and brought a bigger scale but no dice ya know how that goes
  8. here's a link to the special they did on NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC. http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/series/wild/3449/Overview those goobers on YouTube had better hope us fish and wildlife doesn't see there video. there quite serious about going after people who have them or smuggle them into the U S. for a tank or food. guess there a delicacy in some oriental shops . im sure there could also be a charge depending where they got the bass waste of a good bass >
  9. cool site i'm garret from Yuma AZ i am a big time duck hunter but in the off season i chase fish bass and catfish I'm never on the water without my 3 mutts there always up for whatever and there GF/wife doesn't call 900 times a trip i do most of my fishing in the lower Colorado and on the border where there can be some interesting entertainment anyway here's a couple fish from when i played hookie on st paddys day
  10. everybody's had it happen once the bad part is if ya got to see the size of the whopper that dashed your hopes from gleaming to bummed in a split second
  11. both are good cabelas has a better waterfowl section one plus BPS has is the six pay if your a good customer they let ya do it whenever ya want ;D when times are tight the six pay without huge interest works for a tight budget
  12. if ya dont want something the size of a clip you can tie to a split ring or a small norman speed clip both are quick and small and easy to change weights
  13. another megastrike Ive recently started using it over the last couple months i was skeptical with all the hype but i bought a tube and tried it one day. i fished a clear water spot where i could watch the fish and there reaction. while i cant really say it attracts them more they do hold onto it much longer. i would watch the fish take the bait and let em swim around without setting the hook to see if they would hold it longer. man i saw em suck it in and just swim about like normal the stuff works another one i like is yum shad flavor
  14. you can check into bass bro etc they have some starter kits or even better would be to hit up a local buddy to guide ya on what works well in the area my # 1 bait is a white zoom super fluke rigged with a daiichi copper head hook or wide gap worm hook topped off with some megastrike
  15. one thing we've done before that's cheap easy and usually free is get 3 pallets make them into a triangle weight and sink. now you can get caught up with crank baits but you can avoid some of that with some pvc cut and placed over the slats. another option is making a structure from PVC and filling with concrete and yet another way is some empty blue barrels cut various holes and sink and weight down most of this stuff is a good summer project when ya can get in the water to get it just right BE CAREFUL!!!!
  16. i usually fish from afternoon till dark. ive done just as well as when i got up at dawn. i only get up early for ducks
  17. nice ingenuity but you'd be way safer building one out if 1/4 plywood
