  1. try fishing something smaller. 4 inch plastic worms with no weight, senkos, or try something like a panther martin. i fish alot of ponds, and i have alot of success fishing these types of lures. also, be very careful when you approach the ponds. bass can be very spooky in situations like this. just approach with caution, and the most important thing......make sure they don't see your shadow.
  2. It depends on the bass's mood, shad_master. I've had times, when they would bump my SB, and I've let it fall all the way to the bottom, and actually WATCHED the bass slurp it up off of the bottom of the lake. I've also seen times when all I do is give it a little twitch, and continue my same retrieve, and they will come back for it. I'ts all up to "Big Mr. B."
  3. Chartreuse, no doubt! Barbeque'd, or fried?
  4. Right on brother. Glad to have you aboard. Welcome.
  5. Yup. For sure. Listem to Raul. For, that's gonna be the toughest part of your quest for that big bass.
  6. Neither! Sufix! Salmon fishing, or catfishing?
  7. loomis Bush, or anybody else!?
  8. Wow, Shad_Master! I thought I was the only one who did that! Now I don't feel so weird about it. We also used to tie huge magnets onto our lines when the lake is super low and drag them across the bottom. You'd be surprised what you come up with!
  9. Hey everyone, it's me again. Got a little tidbit of advice I would like to share with all of ya. Actually, more for those who fish HIGHLY FLUCTUATING LAKES. Here's what I do: Whenever the lake (or whatever body of water you're fishing) is low, bring a camera! Digital, disposable, Polaroid, whatever. Bring that camera, and take some snapshots of your favorite fishin' holes when the water is low. Then, when the water level rises again, pull out your pictures, and you will have a great visual of what kind of underwater structure, ledges, channels, you will be dealing with. Try it sometime! It really works! Tight Lines, fellas!
  10. Who cares! Why does it matter who's buying what bait, at what price! They all catch fish people! You guys are concentrating on all the wrong aspects. WE ARE BASS FISHERMAN!!!!! We are all going to fish a little differently than the next guy! I don't know about you guys, but the only thing I really care about is keeping those poles bent, and those lines tight! Can I get an AMEN!!!!!
  11. Luke-warm! Ha! Budweiser, or Coors?
  12. Funny you should bring that up. Went out fishing right after 4th of July weekend. Boy, the lake was a mess. Mud-lines galore! The only thing these bass would hit, is a Rattle Trap, retrieved at high speeds. Very good technique for those windy, muddy shoreline situations. Good call, alloy!
  13. I agree with alloy up there. The spoon, or a Tournament Frog work great. If you miss a fish, try throwing a large plastic worm, jig, or sometimes, even a soft jerkbait (just let it fall slowly where the fish boiled). Have had alot of success with these trechniques. Especially fishing in the California Delta.
  14. Go with the swim baits, man. Big, natural looking trout, or forage fish patterns. Alot of big bass have been caught and recorded on swim baits. A.C. Plugs, Titan Swim Baits, etc. Look into 'em.
  15. I totally agree with fbl up there. Finesse worm, four inch, in a natural craw, or shad pattern. Good call fbl.
  16. You're awesome, Glenn! Keep up the good work!
  17. KU, my mistake. I thought they were "Dingos". Phil probably thought I was whackaloon, asking for wild Australian dogs! LOL! Good times. Thanks for the link.
  18. Motorguide. Polarized, or Blu Blockers?
  19. Fishing them kind of like a Super Fluke, but slower. Twitch, twitch, long pause. Every hit came on the pause. Didn't get a chance to try them wacky stlye, though. By the way, thanks for the advice KUBassmaster, much appreciated, brother. The store didn't carry the Yum Dingos, so I went with the Senkos. Great bait, though.
  20. Neither! Hank Williams Jr. Chicken or beef?
  21. I already have, and I just got back from fishing with them! Th'ey're pretty cool. I caught three good size bass on them. One thing I didn't really care for about them, is that they're really soft, and I lost one for every bass I caught. Other than that, no complaints! I love the action, and the fall rate on them. All around, awesome bait!
  22. Sorry! I meant: Bloomin' onion, or beer battered mushrooms? But here's a better one anyways. Making spinnerbaits, or pouring plastics?
