  1. It is hard to beat the Sunline Sniper for bottom contact baits.
  2. There is a night and day difference between the NRX and GlX. When you get a bite with the NRX it feels like an electric shock coming through the rod. I could not belive that they could make a rod that much better than a GLX, but they did. If you have the money buy one with the utmost confidence that you are purchasing the best rod (so far) ever built.
  3. Great looking bait. Nice work
  4. Nice boat, I have always wanted a jet boat. There are a couple of rivers around here that would be perfect for one of those. Hope you enjoy it.
  5. I have one on one of my boats. So far I like it I have had one issue with it when I was in Canada for a fishing trip the motor just went crazy and started spinning and broke the locking collar that steers the motor. My fishing partner just had the same thing happen last week. Other than this I do not have any problems with it. I still have not used it enough to say that it is worth the extra money but the anchor button sure is nice. I still have not recorded a track and run it yet but I can imagine it would be helpful too.
  6. You only need a passport to go through customs, if you are not going through customs I would not see the need for one. When we fished Erie we stayed on one of the Islands in Canada for 4 days and I never remember having to go through customs. But when we go to Quetico every year we do have to go through customs and they have required a passport for the last few years.
  7. That and he never put fresh water in the livewells, even after adding the ice you have to change the water out every 3 or 4 hours and add more ice.
  8. I have had good luck on the 5" and 6" Basstrix Paddle Tail Swimbaits. Also on the Sebile Magic Swimmers in the 125 size.
  9. Yep that is it from Arkie, he just put a different hook on it, I could have showed you one but I only had 2 of them and lost my last one last night. It worked really well with a Biffle Bug or a Sweet Beaver.
  10. If they make a Kipawa Propeller for your old model Minn Kota I would try that first if you are wanting more power. They make a huge difference. Bought one for my bass boat 21' with a 74lb thrust Minn Kota, I used to run it on 40 to 50% after changing the prop I now run on 20 to 30% amazing what a prop will do.
  11. Bass Zone post show interview with Biffle showed a close up of the bait. Yeah, I saw a small picture of it last week but he had a bait rigged on it and I couldn't actually see just the head & hook like I wanted to. I liked what I saw though. It is an Arkie Football Shakey Head with a wide gap owner hook on it instead of the worm hook that comes on it from Arkie.
  12. 7' medium action graphite Cranking rod with a moderate action.
  13. If you have wind a swimming jig or a spinnerbait is my choice.
  14. That is totally up to you to decide, but the Sunline Shooter is the best Fluro that I have ever used.
  15. Zoom Fat Albert.
  16. I have an I pilot too great investment, I love the anchor feature for windy conditions. It is an expensive motor 1500 plus I had to get the shaft cut down from 60" to 45" that was another 150. But with all of the features it makes it worth it in my opinion. You can run the whole trolling motor with only the remote if you want you do not even need the foot pedal.

    Great looking build.
  18. I do alot of night fishing mainly due to superclear water. A blacklight is a must have for bottom contact baits for moving baits not so much but it is nice if you are fishing the shore to have the light from them to see a little better. I have never had any trouble with them drawing too much power off of the battery and have fished many time all night. I use the plug in style of black lights on my boat, but if I were to buy a new boat I would have to look into the rub rail style that they are making now I saw them on a couple of boats at the Bassmaster Classic and they are very interesting.
  19. These have always worked really well for me. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0043312319597a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntt=zerust&Ntk=Products&sort=all&Go.y=11&N=0&Nty=1&hasJS=true&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1&_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/search/search-box.jsp.form1&Go.x=33
  20. Looks like a baby minus 1
  21. My favorite topwater prop bait is a Gilmore Jumper it is huge as big as a Super Spook, I have caught smallmouth on it all the way from Tn to Canada. There is no reason not to use a Baby Torpedo. It is 1/2 the size of a Jumper.
  22. If the mayflies are hatching the topwater bite will be on, good popper style bite. I never use a leader the smallmouth do not bite as well with it. After a while you can tell what is a pike bite and what is something other than a pike I just do not set the hook on a pike they will usually let go of the bait after a few seconds. Good luck on your trip hope you have fun, I started packing for mine Monday, I am leaving next Friday.
  23. Got a 15% off flyer this morning, but no Daiwa is included. Boo :'(
  24. I use a 4/0 BMF hook or a 4/0 straight shank owner for flipping. Hard to beat a straight shank for flipping heavy cover.
  25. After seeing how he treats his equipment over the years I would not want anything of his.
