  1. A weightless worm and the silver minnow will give you line twist no matter what kind of line or reel that you use, unless a swivel is used. If you fish from a boat let out the line with nothing attached to it behind the boat and run at a fast idle for about 100 yards. That will take care of the twist.
  2. Here is one such comment: That is my quote and if you notice I am commenting on the building quality, no where in that post does it say it is a more sensitive rod. It is a well built rod, will it replace my GLX's absolutely not, for what I had that rod built for it is great. He is making me 2 more right now. They are a very well made rod.
  3. I cannot speak for the American Rodsmiths, but own and have owned the Kistlers and the Castaways. I personally like the Castaway's better but the Kistler's are fine rods too. You cannot go wrong with either one that you pick.
  4. Hard to believe that is all the price has changed in 15 years.
  5. Looks good.
  6. I use it 2 ways, on a shakey head from 1/8 to 1/4oz, and texas rigged with 3/16oz tungsten weight with a owner J hook 1/0 or 2/0.
  7. 7" power worm Green Pumpkin blue flake Zoom trick worm Green Pumpkin 5" Senko Black Blue Flake 1/2 Black Blue Jig Sweet Beaver Penetration
  8. I do not own a Revo but I do have the Zillion and it would be a great reel IMO for this. A Curado 300 would work well too but I like the 4.9 to 1 gear ratio on the Zillion Crazy Cranker the best.
  9. Can't give you any advice on the 803 but I had a Glx shakey head rod for a few months I liked it but decided that I liked the 852 Glx better so I sold it and got another 852.
  10. Hopkins shorty spoons, and I switch the hooks out to the next size larger hook.
  11. The Daiwa SS tournament series, I know they are like 20+ year old technology but they are bulletproof. I have bought many spinning reels that cost much more since my first purchase of one of these but these are the ones that I still have, not sold off. The 1600 size would be best for braid. http://www.***.com/descpageRLSDAIWA-DTSSR.html
  12. I did not buy the skirts but did buy the hooks, they are exactly like the BMF hooks that I have. I read somewhere that it was the same hook by the same manufacturer.
  13. Best way to get in touch with him is go to the Tackle Tour website and send him a PM. He absolutely does not need a website word of mouth is enough. His rods are absolute works of art I have done alot of research on custom rod builders and his rods always come up no matter what forum you are on. They are not cheap by any means.
  14. Does anyone have a website or email address for Otter Rods? Matt's website, http://s163.photobucket.com/albums/t288/Otterods/
  15. Absolutely, I wish they made a 10:1 ratio reel when they charge the boat. You cannot get line in fast enough sometimes.
  16. 1oz spinnerbait slow rolled, 3/8 oz hair jig with a swimming chunk trailer
  17. They are great jig trailers too.
  18. Yes, while you could get away with a 3/0 I would move up to a 5/0. Personally I like a 5/0 Owner J Hook for these worms. But you will get a 100 different answers for which hook to use.
  19. Same here I like a moderate action rod.
  20. The Citristrip and some 600 grit sandpaper worked great. Thanks
  21. They have no warranty, and I got them very reasonable so I am going to try the Citristrip on one of them anyway.
  22. Ok so I bought a couple of Castaway rod blanks that are green is there anyway that I can strip the paint off of them so they are just a natural color? Thanks Chris
