25+ Old Shimanos, still going...
I was about 12 or 13 too when I bought them I don't know what money that is in todays market but then it was about 10 yards mowed that was alot of work and sweat to buy those reels and they still look great today because I had to work so hard to get them. I cannot bring myself to get rid of them for that reason.

Drop Shotting Line
All I ever use is fluorocarbon for drop shotting, but I always use a swivel about 2 feet up the line then use a leader. It has always worked well for me.

Powell Max or G-Blanks
The one I just had made he told me 4 weeks but had it done in 3 weeks, don't you love it when you get one sooner. Great rod too by the way and I have owned them all presently I have 11 Glx's 3 Imx's 2 Kistler Helium LTX II, 4 Falcon Expert series, 3 Falcon Lowriders, and 1 Powell Frog Rod, the G Blanks is build every bit as good if not better than all of these. I am sure that this will not be my last G Blanks

Fireline Crystal and Stren Microfuse
I use the microfuse because it is fluorescent. I like it alot of people don't but it beats changing line all the time. I night fish about 50% of the time in the summer so it works well for me.

Best Fishing Light For Lighting Up the Bank
The Stan Sloan Super Double the one with one black light and one white light is the best one the Moonlite with the Green is 2nd best. I do prefer the Moonlite more because it does not attract as many bugs. There are two used Sloan Super Double's at a bait shop I go too if you are interested they are the cordless ones. If you are interested pm me and I will get you there #

painting gas tank area
The problem with painting fiberglass is that fiberglass flexes paint not so much, the best thing to paint it with would be a polyurea type paint. The only problem with that is you cannot paint a polyurea it is a very specialized product that has to be applied with a sprayer designed only for it. It is very similar to the spray on bedliner that you see but without the texture and the weight. You might look around in your area and see if anyone applies this type of coating and see if you could work something out with them

IMX vs GLX
They are both top notch rods, the GLX is lighter and of course more sensitive, as far as stronger and stiffer they are about the same in my opinion. I have 11 GLX's and 2 Imx's as you can see I like the Glx's better but they are both great rods.

GLX, IMX, St. Croix Legend Xtreme...
You can't go wrong with any of these rods they are all good quality rods.
-
Powell Max or G-Blanks
Both are good rods I own both, It just comes down to do you want a production rod now or would you rather wait for a custom. You cannot make a wrong choice either way.
