  1. I also meant to specify that this is for Texas rigging, in case anyone thought I meant a different way.
  2. What hooks does anyone use for a 10" plastic worm, what is the most effective? Every time I look at one of these worms I think that the hook will be too small and the fish are not likely to get the hook. I could be completely wrong. Any information would be helpful, brands, sizes, etc. Thanks for any replies.
  3. Also, I forgot to ask this, for anyone who has used these baits, how quickly to they tear up in relation to slug-gos or senkos? I've had some slug-gos last for more than ten fish, does that happen with the rage tails?
  4. How well has anyone done using any of the rage tail baits? I just bought three packs of shad and two packs of frogs. One of the lakes I fish at has a LOAD of lillypads on a flat about 3-4 feet deep and it also has a LOAD of weeds on a separate flat area about 5-6 feet deep, there are a lot of holes to hit in both areas. Previously I've fished these areas with a slug-go just hitting holes jerking it around the surface intermittently. Now I want to try the rage tail frog, rigged weedless, and just glide it across the surface in the holes in the weeds and lillypads. In the morning and/or evening does that sound appealing?
  5. I was just wondering if anyone that happens to live in PA has been to Brady's Lake recently, or ever. It is near Arrowhead Lake. The reason I ask is because they drained the lake a few years ago to repair the dam there and I heard that it is back. The Google Maps satellite image still shows it drained. Does any one know anything about this lake?
  6. Thanks for replies.
  7. Just by looking at any crankbait, how can you know approximately how deep it will dive?
  8. For bass, big black Colorado blade spinnerbait seems to work wonders at night. I find this works best in water with some weeds but enough room for you to bring it along over the top.
  9. I always, ALWAYS, use black at night, if not black than something really, really dark. My favorite is a big black Colorado blade spinnerbait.

During spawn, which it is right now in PA where I am, I like a Texas rig and 1/8 oz free bullet weight. Let it sink and slowly bump it through spawning areas along the bottom. Color all depends on the water clarity and sun, in the particular lakes I fish I usually use darker colors, dark greens, dark purples, dark blues.
  11. Hey fourbizz, is that quote in your signature from Blacken the Cursed Sun?

Hi, just signed up for these forums today. Waiting for someone else to get ready to go fishing really makes you antsy so I came on here. I'm from northeast Pennsylvania. The bass fishing is so-so around here, not too many public lakes within reasonable range and most private pond owners think I will sue them if I get hurt and won't let me fish. I'm 21 and just graduated college. I've been fishing since early teens, no one in my family does it I kinda got into it from watching fishing shows on TV haha. There is nothing better than fishing at night on my fish hunter one-man raft.
  13. Let me add to that message that the water was right around 60 degrees so slightly warmer than your case.
  14. Just in the last couple of weeks I have a had huge success using a large black spinnerbait with a nice big, black Colorado blade at night. I didn't fish it real fast but fast enough to keep it off of the weed beds I was fishing over; I probably had it 6 inches under the surface.
