  1. So me and my buddy are going to lake Nockamixon either this Friday or next Friday to do some fishing for a few hours. My boat is currently out of commission until next season so I will have to rent one from the boat rental place on the lake so that will be where we are launching from. I have only fished this lake once and was wondering if anybody on here had any tips for where and what to fish for some bass. My buddy is from South Jersey so he has never caught a small mouth so I would love to be able to find a few of those but if the Large mouth are easier to find we can always just fish for them. Thanks for the help.
  2. at least 5lbs but looks closer to 6 to me
  3. Hi guys, I was wondering if any one is interested in starting a Small Bass Club in Eastern PA? I moved to PA from South Jersey 4 years ago when I married my wife. I currently fish with the South Jersey Hawg Hunters (a club I joined in 2003 when I lived in NJ) its a great club but Im really getting tired of driving 2 1/2 hours every saturday to fish with the club....im just worn down by the end of the season. So as this season winds down I have been toying with the Idea of maybe finding a small club to fish with here in eastern PA. So I started looking around and to my suprise I really didnt find much. Most of the Clubs fish really big water and travel really far (like down to potomic) which isnt what I was looking for. Anyway I decided to see if there is any intrest in Eastern PA for a Small Bass Club. The Clubs goals will be: Help the fishing community Keep club fees to the minimum Help each other become better anglers Hold between 10-15 fun and semi competative tornys and Have lots of fun The Club would be looking to hold tornys maybe 2 times a month and would be fishing local lakes like: Lake Nockamixon Green Lane Reservoir Peace Vally Reservoir Marsh Creek Reservoir and some smaller lakes like Chambers Lake Hopewell Lake Now Im just toying around with some lakes right now and I havnt gotten any permission to hold tornys on any of these lakes yet. The Club would also try to hold a couple projects to help out the fishing community such as: fishing structure projects shore clean ups youth fishing programs Im looking for maybe a maximum of 15 club members If anyone is interested in helping start this club Please either message me on this forum or contact me at Crappieworld@yahoo.com (put something about bass club in the title). Im looking to get this thing off the ground by next season......hope to hear from you guys.
  4. I live in NJ but im getting married in June and moving to PA.....does anyone know of any bass clubs near philly BTW: I only have a small johnboat so it has to be a small water club
  5. Absolutely incredible. Way inspiring. And--with no scientific expertise whatsoever to back this up--I'm 100% convinced that fish is a hybrid of some sort. My money is on a largemouth & smallie cross. Drums, Sorry if the fish is certified Lake record then it is a smallmouth my friend
  6. I was just wondering...if your fishing in a torny and you catch a mean mouth bass...can you still weigh it in????
  7. Ok thanks guys
  8. One of my friends is trying to make senko like baits but he doesnt know how to make them sink....does anyone know how to do this?
  9. 1976 12" seaking 25 pound thrust motor guide It was my grandfathers but he gave it to me when he bought a new boat two years ago.....I learned to fish out of that boat and I love it to death....leaks and all....lol
  10. "Never Give Up" thats from Mike Ike himself and this year it helped me a lot as I won two tournys in the last 20 min. in both tornys I hadnt caught anything and then in the last 20 min. I caught a limit including the lunkers in both tornys.
  11. Me and my grandfather fish a lake like that in NJ our bass club holds a torny there every year and two years in a row we have been the only team to bring in a limit in fact both tomes we caught over 15 keepers.......our secret a 3 inch senko fished wacky with no weight. We use ultra light rods and reels with 10 pound power pro and a 4 foot 10 pound florocarbon leader. Give it a try youd be suprised the size of fish those little 3 inch worms pull up.
  12. Would anybody in south jersey be interested in starting up a small boat Bass fishing club. The club memebers would have to fish out of small roof top boats. The club would fish on week nights so you can still fish weekend clubs. The club would fish small lakes and ponds in south jersey that dont get fished beacause they dont have boat ramps. If anyone is interested they can post here or contact me at Crappieworld@yahoo.com
  13. Mine was a 19 1/2" that weighed 4lbs 4oz. I caught her on a fishing trip in NH.
  14. Here is a thing not many people do, fish a tube weightless just like a soft jerkbait. Fish it in the same situation that you would fish a soft jerkbait and use the same type of retrive it gives the fish a different look. Also if you are fishing a lake and the fish are chasing small sunfish try a weightless brown tube with a chart. tail (I usually use a Venom pumpkinseed tube and I dye the end of the tenticles with chart. spike-it) Fish the tube fast on top like you would a soft jerkbait, if you do it right the fish will show no mercey on your tube) BTW when you are fishing a weightless tube it is very easy to miss fish remeber that when a fish hits on the surface wait until you feel the fishes weight to set the hook.
  15. Hey everyone I was just wondering If anyone has some tips for jig fishing. I have been trying to learn how to jig fish all year, I have read all the articles I could find about them and still I have not caught a single jig fish. Im only 19 and I hope to some day becaome a pro Bass Fisherman, and i think that in order for me to do that I need to learn and master every tech. possable, jig fishing happens to be one of them. So if anyone has any in detail tips that might put me onto my first jig fish Id be very thankful for them. BTW I Live in NJ and most of the lakes I fish are shallow try to remeber this when responding to my question. Thank you all
