  1. thanks man, he put up a hell of a fight. I was fishing alone so It was hard to net him by myself but I made do.
  2. 30inch Redfish, caught on a DOA shrimp.
  3. nice fish, i'd be smiling if I caught something like that
  4. My three biggest are 6.7 lbs 7.3 lbs 9.6 lbs
  5. believe me, catching the thing was a job in itself, he climbed out of the bed of the truck twice before we finally had to tape his legs up. And about eating him, the DNR guy we took him to is licensed to sell the meat to restaurants so I'm sure the gator will make somebody a good meal
  6. the gator was about 5 1/2ft long, we ended up catching him and taking him to DNR. The pond was in a neighborhood and we'd hate for that son of a gun to grab a dog or something.
  7. I was fishing a pond last weekend that is known to have big fish in it. I had been fishing for about 20 minutes and caught 2 small fish and apparently there had been a gator watching me cause he was swimming over towards me. I cast again right under a tree and got a huge bite. As I got the fish closer to the bank the gator swam over and chomped down. Not sure what to do and not wanting to lose this huge fish, I let the gator take the fish under. After about 10 minutes, the gator gave up and I was able to get the fish on to the bank. Unfortunately he was already dead. The fish weighed a solid 9lb's, you can see the bite marks towards the tail.
  8. where in Jax do you fish, i make it down there a few times a month
  9. I got caught up with Buckmasters pulling this same stuff. I got a random phone call with a guy asking if I would be interested in joining Buckmasters. I told him no thanks but they sent me the magazine subscription anyway. A month later when I never paid for it, they called twice a day for a week threatening to send me to collections. I told them my lawyer would be contacting them shortly and they dropped it.
  10. I'd just try to catch more panfish, bass isn't a good tasting fish
  11. I feel like I'm pretty good with worms and senkos
  12. LBH, how much did that replica cost
  13. to tell you the truth, i don't see much difference from killing a deer with the purpose of mounting it. There are 100's of hunting shows dedicated to killing trophy whitetails, whats the difference in fishing? Sure you put the bass back to let it grow, just like you can let a deer walk with the intent on letting it get bigger. Or if you feel like this deer or fish is the biggest you've ever seen or caught, why not save that trophy?
  14. I like bubblegum, merthiolate, and limetreuse colored Zoom worms or senkos for clear water.
  15. These are some of the fish I've caught this year.
  16. I pretty much only use worms when I'm fishing a pond, I've caught my biggest fish on a Zoom Trick worm, bubblegum
  17. I've got one bass mounted and had one north Georgia trout mounted that my dad did for me when I was younger cause it was my first fish. The bass I had mounted was the biggest I've ever caught in the 16 years I've been fishing. I don't mount everything I catch, i've got pictures of fish between 3-9lbs that I just put back.
  18. Trick worms and senko's always work the best for me.
  19. I always throw at it again. The worst that could happen is that it won't bite, but sometimes, they'll hit it as soon as it hits the water. This is especially true if the fish wasn't hooked the first time, just holding the lure in its mouth
  20. I guess things are different around here. Its hard to find a bass fisherman who doesnt have a few fish mounted. If you catch a lunker, its common practice to put it on the wall.
  21. Not trying to step on anyone's toes because I know some people are very anal about catch and release. But I was wondering if any of you ever mount your trophys? What's the minimum size that you would mount and do you have any pictures of current fish you have on the wall?
