  1. I've had a nice case of bronchitis for the past week or so, haven't been down the lake. Excited to get out there tomorrow and catch some big girls!
  2. If I want to cover alot of water quickly, I will use a spinnerbait or crankbait. Spinnerbaits are very versatile for this, because they can be fished at any speed and any depth. They're also easier to use in cover. If I know how deep the water is, I'll use an appropriate crankbait. I don't have a set way I use the baits, ever. I will try various techniques, keeping mental notes of what is working and what isn't. Then i'll keep doing what works.
  3. My biggest of the year was a tad under 5 lbs caught deadsticking a smokin rooster in about 3-4 feet of water. That's a pretty big fish for my area. Got a pickerel a tad over 2.5 feet on a spinnerbait, but it was skinny. Ripped a huge hole in it's mouth, so didn't weigh it. Got it off the bait and immediately put it back in, didn't even take it out of the water fully. i'm not familiar enough with pickerel to even try to estimate weight so i'm not going to.

I could say alot about the honda crowds but won't lol... first thing I did when I got the car was take off the big wing, and shortly after i took off the ss badges... that was when all the 17 second ricers stopped trying to race me lol. My car's not crazy fast, mid 13's. I'm past the point in my life where I want to start dumping tons of money into my car... rather buy a new fishing pole lol

I laugh at anyone trying to be badass in their car lol... Cobalts have a bad name for some reason, most people just ignorantly think they're the same as a cavalier. The new ss' ARE pretty baddass though, many run mid 13's stock which is d**n impressive for the price. 12's are a tune away. The only people that knock them performance wise are the people that don't know anythign about them 8-)

to each their own. If everyone wanted the same thing, there would be 1 car. Some people want a nice build, some people want speed, some people want both. Unfortunately both can be very expensive lol.

There's videos, and it was on a wet track. If you look into it you'll see it's a legit lap. Basically everyone got all pissy because the lil 4 banger econobox came in with a kick *** time. It's the equivelent of someone catching a record fish, but not actually getting the record because they released it after photos and weighing it.

Did you even read my post? lol... because I pretty much said the same thing. My priority was performance. Believe me, if fit/finish was more important I wouldn't have bought the car lol. What car do you race with?

Very, very underestimated car. do your research. don't look in the back of your road and track magazine, majority of those times are not what people actually run. And the cobalt is a road course car, not 1/4 mile car. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nürburgring_lap_times Cobalt is at 8:22 here. Look at higher times. d**n impressive if you ask me. Majority of people I talk to don't give it a 2nd look, till they see tailights.
  10. nice fish! I haven't had much luck with the trout this year.
  11. Thanks for sharing some of those tips lol 8-)
  12. I know, I know, this CAN'T be it... but possible it's the technique, and not the bait? Or just crappy baits? Welcome to the site, and be sure to check out the fishing articles. Any skill level will benefit from some time in that section.
  13. looks interesting, but for me half the fun is having that fish fight and pull line, and jump way out there.

When it comes to chevy, you no longer get everything. My SS Cobalt with minimal work in it is faster than cars 3x what I bought it for. But it rattles like a mofo, interior paint is chipping, panels fall off, etc. But the motor/tranny/drivetrain is strong. That's why I bought it, knowing that I would be sacrificing some "build quality" for a solid motor and tranny that will last and perform. Most of the chevy lineup is the same. Interior and general build quality is crap these days, but they still make strong motors and cars that will last you if you know basic auto maintenance.
  15. nice fish! does anyone know what these weigh by chance? (the baits, not the fish)
  16. welcome, and thank you!
  17. but we do have all types of fisherman here! Just because people like bass fishing doesn't mean they don't like to go out for other species as well.
  18. exactly. If this site was like car guys, the shimano users would talk smack about the abu members, loomis guys would hate the st criox guys, soft plastic users would hate hard plastic users, etc. lol. And all people would say is "You suck, I catch more fish than you. Loser" lol. Glad it's not like that here. Car meets are broken up by the make and model of their car, and most people don't like other people just because of what car they drive. It's not like here, where FISHING is the common interest, and the reason why people become friends.
  19. I have been on many forums over the years. Guitar forums, car forums, etc. This is my first fishing forum. In general, from being with all types of people from all walks of life, anglers seem to be a different breed of people. Having that common interest almost makes an instant bond between people. You still have the losers in the group, like in any, but overall, it's a much more welcoming crowd.
  20. which jig heads do you have to glue? Never used any that didn't hold the bait.
  21. why are you gluing your trailer on? maybe you're not rigging them properly? they shouldn't be coming off.
  22. D4u2s0t replied to YaHoo's topic in Fishing Reports
    nice fish, congrats!
  23. I like the football jigs with a rage craw trailer, makes the bait stand up like a crayfish. I just slowly bounce it along the bottom, or even just swim it back to shore. I've also had luck just leting it sit in one area on a slack line for a while. No reason to fish it any differently than if you were out on a boat.
