  1. Net Bait Paca chunks is all I ever use.
  2. Very nice touch to those baits. I like them.
  3. Good work. I dont see why they wouldnt catch fish.
  4. haha yes!!!!! Another jig man! congrats on the fish.
  5. very interesting bait. I bet thats killer during the spawn......
  6. While I like the Sweet Beaver, I find that the heads rip easy on hooksets. The Berkely Beast seems to hold up a little longer. I do like both baits though. Now I have thought about (after I already fished with both) using a Parasite clip to help solve this problem but havent gotten back on the water with them yet to test it out. I wish Mann's would come out with one because Im sure their head design would hold up a little better.
  7. I fish a tube like I fish a jig. I hop it like a jig. I fish them with 4/0 Shaw Grigsby HP Hooks by Eagle Claw and use a 5/16oz bullet weight. I was using Lake Fork Tackle Trophy tubes until they discontinued them. > Now Im using Prowler tubes in the S'not color. Its been killer for me.
  8. I think both have their time and place. And one can out fish the other if the time calls for one over the other. It goes back to the old saying, let the bass tell you what they want.
  9. fish the main lake points with a c-rig, deep running crankbait, football head jig. If you have a topo of the lake, find the spots where docks are very close to deeper water and fish those up under the dock and out away from the dock.
  10. Anybody ever thought about using a three-way swivel to put more than one bait out there on a c-rig?
  11. In no particular order: Berkley Beast 7" super fluke GrandeBass Mutant or Rattlesnake 10" worm I like the idea of a Paca Craw.
  12. Prowler tubes. S'not or Roadkill are deadly. Also might want to check out blackhawkcustomoutfitters or honeycreek tackle, they can set you up wiht good heads. Honeycreek tackle is where Terry McWilliams got his tube heads from when he fished in the Classic a couple years ago, the one Boyd won.
  13. My buddy has a couple and they are nice.
  14. I have a package of these, actually the first ones that came out that didnt have the weedguard. Only thrown them once. I've since switched to a jig and a tube and never looked back. the Huddle-bug does look good though. I can see them both working if worked properly.
  15. I go with what the conditions dictate and adjust from there. I will always have a jig and tube tied on because they are confidence baits but they also produce pretty much anytime of the year. but you have to take seasonal conditions into consideration as well as what stage the bass are in. Most people dont have 10-12 rods to set up for a tournament, so I take my confidence baits, my search baits (lipless crank, buzzbait, crankbait) and then I leave a rod or two for a specific application I know I will work in the day. May be a c-rig, drop-shot, swimbait, frog, etc and that way I have what I feel are my basis covered given the conditions Im fishing.
  16. I trim mine down so when it lays down, it barely touches the hook point and i also thin them out from the inside out.
  17. I've used them and done well with the one bag I had of them. bought the black and blue and caught fish on them, but like the regualr senko, tore up quickly. I have some RI Skinny Dippers I want to try, seem like they may hold up better.
  18. It doesnt make a difference, just keep it out of the hot sun.
  19. Yeah I already read your tutorial and liked it, just was bored and got the wheels turning about my swimbait. Good point made about them possibly rusting. I had considered using the small clips which have a smaller end section but thought it might be too much play still.
  20. Ok, so Im sitting here at work bored on a typical Friday. Im in the process of getting my first swimbait going and have my design drawn out on my wood and going to cut it this weekend and start shaping it. (Pics will be added to follow my progress). Anyways, I got to thinking about my links for the joints inbetween sections. Well I glance over and see one of the black binder clips that are shaped in the form of a triangle and have a silver metal wire on each side to open the mouth of the clip and get it around the stack of papers you want to keep together. My question is, if I take those metal wires off, would they work for my joints on my swimbait??? I was thinking of taking the dremel tool and carving out channels for the wires to sit in. What do you guys think??? Maybe too much play in them??? Not strong enough???
  21. Yes it will no matter what you have heard size does matter ;D . I thought it was all about girth, not length?? ;D
  22. tube jig fluke (i prefer 7" version) square billed crank spinnerbait chatterbait Berkley beast or RI Sweet Beaver SPRO frog
  23. Just get the 10" Power worms. Is 2" really going to make that much of a difference???
  24. I get a game plan together based on the weather from the past couple of days and the day I fish. then I look at what season it is and just start from there. I havent fished any new waters lately so I already know where I want to go on the water Im fishing. If it was new water to me, I would try to get a topo of the lake and study it to see where I would want to start and try to eliminate areas that I feel wont be productive based on the time of year. I will always have a tube and jig tied on and then go from there how I want to attack a body of water.
  25. couple Plano boxes with my cranks and jigs and then a bag of soft plastics, I could leave some of them at home but I dont. I do try to take what I feel I need for the day though.
